[Antinous Grounds] A More Pleasant Lesson (Lucas)

Season of Summer, Day 11, 511 AV It was some time until Lucas managed to again meet the Squire that had offered to give him lessons on unarmed combat, but earlier that morning they had bumped into each other at breakfast in the Dorms. After proper introductions, during which Lucas learned the other Squire was named Tristan, the two finished their breakfast and left to make the short trek to Dyres district and the Antinous training grounds that sat on top of it. "Have you ever trained in the Antinous grounds before Lucas?" Tristan asked as they moved through the passageways in Dyres district, winding their way up, "It's got a really great view, assuming you have a second to look," the Squire gave a laugh and patted Lucas on the shoulder, "Hopefully we'll be able to avoid the gaze of the Weaponsmasters, or you might end up getting more of a lesson than you planned on." Soon the pair exited the cramped and stuffy interior of Stormhold and were confronted by open sky and the hodgepodge of training areas that were the Antinous training grounds. After a quick glance around Tristan waved for Lucas to follow him over to an area where a pair of brick walls made a small hallway that extended straight for about thirty feet.

Breakfast had been great, and not only because Lucas hadn’t been beaten up, but also because he had met the other squire that had offered to give him lessons in unarmed combat again. He hadn’t been able to find out whose squire the boy was or what his last name was. Maybe he didn’t have a last name. The fact that he still didn’t know much about the other boy annoyed him slightly, but on the other hand he was happy that Tristan was willing to actually help him. Most of the time his fellow squires‘ help just consisted of hitting him and wasn’t particularly useful in the long run, no matter how much they insisted otherwise. „I might have been here once or twice“, Lucas replied as they made their way to the Antinous training grounds. As Tristan mentioned the Weaponsmasters, he made a face and looked at him questioningly. „Do you think they’ll have a problem with this? I mean as squires we are supposed to train a lot, right?“ Whatever Tristan said to that, Lucas was glad to be out of the castle. He preferred to be under the open sky and actually see a little sunlight every once in a while. Being stuck in a castle all the time was getting on his nerves.
