20th day of Summer 511 AV

Whats the best part of working in Killroy's Kennels? Bob can always take a break from the animals if they become too much work or get a little too clingy. Then after that he had a multitude of jobs to choose from. Even if they were menial and boring. But for Bob that was alright. Because this was not the real job. He will go and pass this test. And then get the real job. The secret one.

With Killroy nowhere in sight, Bob decided it was time to clean up the front of the store. Really. That man was very unfriendly to Bob. Not to mention he was a little creepy. Why did Tua have to put that image into Bob's mind? It was so hard to shake off. And an employee should not have to be so strange when it comes to their boss. It only reduces productivity by a lot. Especially when said employee tries his best to tailor his work specifically to avoid the boss unless he really needed to.

Thinking of the man, where was he anyway? Bob sure hopes that a customer does not come in. Normally he is able to direct the customer's Killroy's way but today he really had no idea where he was. Not to mention he didn't know where Hannah was either. Aside from the two, Bob had no one else to turn to in the job. Like he thought. Trying to keep out of the bosses way was really unproductive after all. Oh well. Unless anything else turns up today, Bob can just look forward to an evening of rest after cleaning up the store.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Zarek on August 30th, 2011, 12:22 pm

Zarek casually made his way down the streets of Sunberth, trying to remember the location of Killroy’s Kennel. He heard his fair share of rumors when it came to Killroy, some pleasant, most not. But He thought he’d try his luck at this ‘fine’ and ‘legitimate’ establishment. He was interested in possibly buying himself a new companion to watch over his goods when he wasn’t around. Mostly when he found himself away from his horse while he spent his days at the pig’s foot. Oi, Oi, Am I seriously lost…? It should just be right around… Zarek made a turn at the corner to see a building that stuck out from the rest. It was spacious and was one of the few that actually looked like it had regular maintenance done to it. This the place? Guess there’s only one way to find out. Zarek thought to himself, as he narrowed his eyes slightly, peering into the building.

The front gate was connected to a pathway that led down to another building. On both sides of the pathway were stables that had a handful of horses on either side. Guess this is the place… He mumbled under his breath, as he made his way down the pathway. He padded his money pouch a few times to make sure it was still on him, feeling reassured by the weight it still held. As he got closer to the door, he stretched out his left hand in order to push the doorway open. However, lost in thought at what it was he wanted to buy, he did not realize the door actually needed to be pulled to enter. So when his out stretched hand made contact with the door, He was quickly brought to a stop as he made a loud thud from the impact of his hand onto the wooden door. Completely caught off guard, Zarek jumped slightly as he snapped out of thought, realizing his mistake.

Chuckling weakly at himself, amused by the simple mistake he had just made he reached out for the handle and opened the doors. Much to Zarek’s surprise the door’s had hardly squeaked at all! This was most certainly not very Sunberth like, not yet anyway. As he entered into the building, Zarek observed his surroundings. He had never entered a Kennel before and was not sure what to expect. But from what he pictured, it was fairly similar to what he had anticipated. In-front of him stood a desk about 10 feet away, where stood a man of a smaller stature. He held a broom in both his hands, as he stared up at Zarek, with a slightly startled expression on his face which must have been caused by the sudden bang at the front door. He made his way towards the man as he looked to his left and right, trying to get a better feel for the room he had entered.

Along both sides of the kennel were cages, all lined up along the wall. They were an assortment of different sizes and shapes, built for different types of animals. Quite a few of these cages had different animals in them, such as, dogs, cats, birds, and snakes of the like, all doing their own thing. By no means was this the quietest location in the world, and further down the hall was another door that must of led to another part of the establishment. For one could hear more sounds of different animals come from there as well.

Zarek finally stood a few feet from the men, as he peered down to make eye contact with the midget. “Heeey! I’ve seen you before, you’re that midg- er...that one man of…ah, smaller stature! Yea, I remember you! That one buddy of yours threw you across the room! Haha! Good times, good times…” Zarek called out, as he sneered weakly, a smirk going across his face. So I was looking at possibly buying a companion of sorts, you work here?

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on August 30th, 2011, 5:20 pm

A large woman with a towershield on her back was heading straight for Killroy's kennel. She was hoping to find a horse that was better suited for combat then the one she had right now. It wasn't bad at it, but it hadn't been trained well at all to ignore sudden sounds. It still jumped from a dropping pan.
"Stupid horse, scared of all shyke that happens around it.", she said out loud.

Revy was already annoyed just by this horse, but also because she hadn't had any action in the past week. Each time she tried to pick a fight with strong looking guys, they just ran away. Her reputation as a merciless fighter had preceeded her. She knew already that every guy knew of her. "Petching scaredy cats in this town.", were her thoughts as her destination came into sight.

She pulled her horse onto the pathway and then looked around a few times. After making sure that no one was around right now, she unloaded the saddlebags and threw them over her shoulder.
"This way I'll at least have my stuff with me in case they steal my horse. Not that they'll live long after that, but that's just a joy for me."

She walked to the door and opened it with her left hand. Her right one made sure the saddlebags didn't drop from her shoulder. Inside she noticed a man of her own size standing in front of a midget. Inside of her mind Revy started laughing hard, but her face was like a mask. Not even the smallest hint of joy went across it, it was as if she was a death messenger. Her eyes had the same look.

"Oy, you guy and shortstuff, which one of you can tell me who the owner is.", she said brusk. The mercenary looked down on both of them, even though she had to look straight ahead for the bigger guy. Her stature showed that she decided that both of them were inferior to her.

Bob who was sweeping the floor suddenly had the shock of his life when the door made a sound. Was that a monster or a wild monster because a person will definitely not do that. They should know better to pull the door than the push. What if those things got in? All Bob had was this...broom...His cane was wayyyyy over at the other side. Preparing for the worst, Bob went towards the back of the table and held out the broom in front of him. With those two things at the front maybe whatever it was that is attacking him would think twice before coming at him.

"Phew!" Bob was able to have some relief and released his breath and grip on the broom. It was a person after all. Didn't he know better? If Bob was a lot older or had a weak heart, he might be down on the ground right now. Yes, it was that bad. Especially the way he imagined it.

Bob could not tell who the man really was until he reminded Bob about the time at the tavern. The embarrassing moment and he was making fun of it. His face turned a little sour at the thought of it but he still remembered his manners. Staring at Zarek "Thanks for last time. And yes, I work here..."

Then a woman stormed into the building. Of all the luck. Why customers now? Looking at the both of them he continued "...but I have no idea where the boss is. What are you looking for? Maybe I can help." He would not let the woman's cold expression addle him and he tried keep up a smile as casual as he could. If he was not mistaken, Uncle Marny always told him that the patients like to be kept calm. Bob was pretty sure that the same should apply to customers of anything else.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Zarek on August 31st, 2011, 6:46 am

Caught off guard by the sudden bellow of a female’s voice Zarek was not familiar with. He turned around on his right heel and planted his left foot down, observing the new guest from head to toe. After his third check he finally stopped and made eye contact with Revy who stood at about the same height as Zarek. His eye’s gleamed as he stared into her cold expression, the smirk he had on his face twisted further as it became a full smile. After staring at her for a few seconds, a flare of excitement welled up in his chest. An excitement that made his knuckles itch. Her left hand rested on her long sword has the right hand made sure the Saddlebags would not fall off her right shoulder. Judging from her appearance, it was quite obvious that, where ever she went, it was not rare for a scene to follow.

After staring into her eyes for a few more seconds. Zarek finally broke eye contact as he shrugged weakly, dismissing the girls sudden appearance. He exhaled in what sounded like a very faint chuckle. In the same motion he then spun around to set his gaze back onto Bob. Bob’s expression still remained pleasant as he looked up towards Zarek, waiting for a reply to his question Right…What were we?…Ah, yes, of course. So you said you worked here? Perfect! I was just looking for a possible guard dog of sorts. Was told tis the best place as any to find one. replied Zarek. Ah, but where are my manners! I don’t believe I caught your name last time we met. Zarek extended his right hand towards Bob, as he waited for him to shake his hand. The name’s Zarek, a pleasure. beamed Zarek in a much friendlier tone with a smile on his face as he looked down towards Bob. Also, before anything else, why not we help the little lady here find a place to set her saddlebags down. They do look quite heavy.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on August 31st, 2011, 7:22 am

Revy had looked straight back at the man in front of her, not once faltering with her eyes. A cold glance went across her eyes.
"Oooh, interesting. This guy is luring a fight. Well can't let him down now can I?", she thought.
"What are you staring at, yellowskin.", she said annoyed, with a threatening undertone to it.
She leaned a little forward, looking at him with her eyes lusting for blood.

As the guy turned around and chuckled light in Revy's ears, her anger exploded like a bomb. This guy actually had the guts to laugh? Well, there weren't many people who even dared to do this anymore.
Quietly drawing her longsword, the mercenary then put it the back of the man after walking over softly. She heard him talk down on her and that only caused her anger to flare up even more.
"This guy actually has the guts to talk like THAT about me? I'll teach him a lesson he won't soon forget.", she thought pissed off completely. She dropped her saddlebags next to her and loosened her towershield from her back.
"You were laughing at me weren't you?", she hissed at him, the anger clearly showing under her breath.
She had a crazed smile on her face. She was already exerting her lust for blood.

OOCMan, Revy is a hothead. Especially after havent had a decent fight in a while. Zar, be careful, don't want to trash the place fighting u just yet. I don't think bob would like that.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Zarek was the first order of business. He was the first one to come in. Better just tell these people whatever they wanted before turning them away until they can come back for Killroy. "Well Zarek, I am Bob. Not someone to throw across a room!" Bob reminded him. But dogs, Bob knew quite a bit about them from his experiences in the Kennel. Since Zarek had helped in the bar brawl...Bob should try and help with his search for a dog just to pay him back.

"Saddlebags?" Bob finally noticed that the woman was carrying saddlebags of her own. Why should she be carrying that? Ahhhh she must be wanting a horse. Bob did not like the horses much, they were boring compared to dogs. What kind of person would buy the saddle before the horse. That was very strange. This was probably the premonition that this woman was a hothead.

Bob pointed at Zarek "So you want a dog..." and then at the scary woman "...and you a horse?" She seems to be an easily excitable person. Taking out her weapons to what. Fight? Mr Killroy is not going to like that. Hopefully she is smart enough to talk off. "Well if I am not mistaken, Mr Killroy is the only man smart enough to deal with animals in Sunberth. So if you both are going to fight you can take it outside or you might risk getting on his blacklist." They shouldn't want that. Not especially if they are going to live for a long time in Sunberth.

He dropped the broom where he stood and headed to his cane leaning on the wall. He held it in his hand like an extension of his body. An extra leg to anyone else unless they were familiar with Bob owning the hidden weapon. Tapping it on the ground to get the pair's attention "But if you are here for animals instead of a fight, I suppose I can show you around..." Bob had to do something to take this pair's mind off violence. No fighting allowed in Mr. Killroy's Kennels!

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Zarek on September 4th, 2011, 12:02 pm

OOCSorry for the late reply, Was awake for 34 hours and wasn't going to post in that state of mind. Also wasn't feeling very Zarek like earlier. x.x but better late then never right?

With a loud “Thump” the saddlebags had slipped off of Revy’s shoulder and onto the ground. Quickly followed by the movements of her longsword being drawn against Zareks back. “you were laughing at me weren’t you?” She hissed in retaliation to Zarek’s actions, her breathing quivered as her anger reached a boiling point. Zarek slowly extended both of his arms outward from both sides. His elbows remained close to his side as he opened both of his hands, showing he had no weapon in either. He slowly turned around to face Revy, the smirk on his face still there as he stared back at her once more. This time her cold expression was replaced with a wild on. It was evident that she was geared up for a fight and under normal circumstances; Zarek wouldn’t be one to object. But he is not here for a fight, No, he needs to leave for Syliras and could use a guard dog to protect his things.

While Zarek stared into Revy’s crazed expression, he could not help but grin ever so more, as licks of excitement grew inside his chest. He broke eye-contact for only a second, when he was unable to contain yet another faint chuckle from underneath his breath. Looking back up, he then began to speak in a friendly, almost cocky tone. “Sorry, sorry, how terribly rude of me. I was not laughing at you, you must understand. It is not every day we see such a beautiful women such as you. I was merely, and pleasantly, surprised. Where I could not help but chuckle from the joy.” He continued on, keeping both arms raised at his side, only moving them slight as he spoke.

A light tapping sound caught both of Zareks and Revy’s attention as Bob tapped his cane against the wooden floor. “If you are here for animals instead of a fight, I suppose I can show you around…” replied Bob as he eyed the two of them. The grin on Zareks face turned into a very natural smile as he laughed a little. “ Of course, of course!” He looked back up to Revy and in a jokingly tone continued to say. “I’d watch out for this one here. Why, just the other day I saw him knock out a sailor who must have been at least Seven, no eight feet tall! He might look small, but don’t let his appearance fool you. He really knows how to use his head in a fight. I mean, the way he moves about, you’d think he flew across the room or something!” Zarek continued in a very loud and boasting voice. But yes, Dogs, If you could help me, I’d appreciate that greatly.

OOCYikes, I've never seen Zarek so social...Maybe I'm still not in Zareks mindset yet, that or maybe Revy just brings it out of him, Lol. Anywho, just wanted yo say sorry for the wait again.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on September 4th, 2011, 1:08 pm

Revy just wanted to bite back at him, when she heard a light tapping sound. Her look went straight for the gnomish person. Her anger could not flare up much higher then it already did. "It's not you who decides where and when I fight, RUNT. And yes I want a horse, a replacement for the one I currently have. The piece of shyke is almost scared of his own shadow and dares to run off at the slightest sound."

Then turning back to the yellowskin, Revy looked at him even angrier. Did he really think that the runt in front of them was a match for her? A seasoned mercenary? He could not be more offensive then he already had, but managed to surpass himself even more.
"You know.... next time I meet you, you're going to end up with your guts removed. Mark my words.", her voice was cold, colder then ice.

She then sheethed her sword back and looked at the runt with her cold eyes. "Well? What are you waiting for. Help your customers, or I will have to look for a different place. I have a job offer in Zeltiva in 20 days, so it wouldn't be a problem to look around for a replacement horse there."

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

The tense look in Bob's eyes loosened with relief that he was able to avert a disaster. Then it was replaced with a look of utter annoyance. Stupid Zarek making jokes about heads and flying. Like Bob did not know what he was thinking of when he said it joking. Maybe he should have just let the woman have her way with him. Then he wouldn't have to put up with this shyke.

Actually the woman was just as bad. Calling Bob a runt. Even if the both of them are paying customers, it would be better if they just finish each other off. Then there would be no question of selling them anything to get mizas. Only looting rights to Bob as the survivor.

"So you want a dog which is as happy as you..." Bob asked Zarek who was probably loving all the jokes and references he could have thought up. "And you want a braver horse? Though I think that the problem lies with the owner that the horse is so faint hearted more than the horse itself." With an attitude like that she should not even think about the horse. Any animal would be able to tell that she was no good. Animals are special like that. As Hannah had told him they had some special sense to tell whether a person is any good or not. But for Bob he had to rely on words and actions done.

Bob searched around the room to look for Killroy. Even if it was to answer the call of nature it shouldn't be too long. Customers with bad attitudes like this would be right up his alley. The man seems to be happy about EVERYTHING. It was unnatural...

He headed over to the counter. Since he cannot have any physical retribution, he had to think of another way of revenge. Like making them waste their mizas. Bob chuckled. He would have to find out which were the most expensive animals in Killroy's. Coupled with his experience in taking care of the animals, he would be able to recommend them animals which were completely useless out of spite. Then when Killroy had his way with them next, he could take them for whatever mizas the pair had. Probably more for their going price if Bob could convince them properly.

"Now where was that price list... Bob thought to himself. Would the papers on the counter have it he wondered. Pushing some of them up to see what they had on them. Nope nothing much. It was all words. On another occasion Bob might read them but right now he was more focused on looking for the numbers he needed. Maybe the drawers then. Bob opened one and was satisfied when there was numbers which corresponded with the animals. Quickly he memorized the top two most expensive of the horses and dogs for the stalls they were kept in. Those would be the ones he will trick the pair with. Another reason for going there was that with the comment he gave the woman about her attitude, it would be harder for her to assault Bob since she would have to get past the counter if she got offended.

With the knowledge that he was looking for, Bob looked back to the pair with a smile. "Well then. Shall we go and see the animals? I don't mind telling you what I know about them, but you have to talk to Mr. Killroy about buying them later." If they accepted he would lead them first to the stables and then to the kennels. The woman looked like she just wanted to have a fight with someone and Bob would like to keep Zarek with him for as long as possible until she left. Which was why he would only satisfy Zarek last. If Zarek was willing to enter a random brawl, Bob hoped that he would also not mind helping out Bob if the woman started anything.
