The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

The Cosmos Center is an elaborately carved building of pale marble located to the direct right of the winding, decorative path leading into the city from the Amaranthine Gate. One of the latest buildings to be built for the benefit of visitors and newfound residents that trickle in, the light that shines from this building at night is far more prominent than the rest, like a beacon for those lost in the myriad of spectacles put on throughout the city.

The Center was built by a member of the Dawn house, a man by the name of Yasek Dawn. In recent years, his granddaughter has taken over the work he put forth to ease the transition of newcomers in their first days in Lhavit.

Upon entering the Cosmos Center, one would notice that it is relatively simple in its furnishings. Several artistically decorated desks made of pale wood are stationed off to the right, mostly occupied by secretaries ready to aid those who require assistance in obtaining a job, a residence, or simply require information.

The occasional potted plant can be seen around the circular room, and several parchment drawings adorn the walls. Directly left of the entrance, a glass case sits on the wall, with papers pinned inside detailing news, announcements, and other important information. These papers are updated and changed out daily by workers of the Stargazing Gazette.

If the main room is empty, which often happens as those working at the Center spend much of their time in the backrooms filing and organizing, a visitor need only tap the crystal bell on any desk three times to summon a secretary.

54th Fall, 513 AV

Swirling wind whipped across Kahn's face, showering it with dried leaves. He raised the arm that wasn't gripping his white stallion's reins and wiped his face with the sleeve of his cloak, feeling hot and sweaty from the climb up the Diamond Road. The sight of the Amarinthine Gate had left him awestruck for a moment, making him temporarily forget his fatigue. As he stood at the doors of the impressive Lhavitian centre of information it all came rushing back, filling him with the nagging urge to immerse himself in the waters of a hot, cleansing bath.

There was no place directly at hand to stable the horse, so he looped the reins and secured them, ensuring that Sanshae would not trip over them and entangle himself while he was busy. He gave him a reassuring scratch and disappeared inside the Cosmos Centre, veering immediately to a cluster of white desks that lined the right-hand wall. A single object sat square in the middle of the counter, inviting the visitor to use it. Kahn reached out and tap it three times, watching the red-haired secretary seemingly appear out of nowhere.

"I'm looking to rent a room at the Solar Winds Apartments. Nothing fancy, the 3 kina option will suffice." Kahn looked the woman up and down, his eyes following the scratching of her pen as she filed the necessary paperwork. His tone was reluctant; his tent had been one of the only possessions he had considered important enough to carry with him from Endrykas and it was rendered useless thanks to the slope and closeness of Lhavitian houses. He had never stayed in a lodge for a longer stretch of time, but he guessed there was a first time for everything.

[Lhavit Location] The Cosmos Center

Postby Atika on April 2nd, 2014, 7:32 pm

Timestamp: 1, Spring, 514 AV

A chipper young Inarta girl made her way through the city before finally coming to the Cosmos Center. She paused just outside the doors for a moment before she tucked her soft red hair behind her ears and pulled open the doors. This wasn't her first time by this building, but she'd never really gone in before, maybe taken a peak, but never walked in or talked to one of the secretaries. She was far from shy, however and was happy to bounce up to the desk and ring the crystal bell three times.

The noise it made caused the teen to consider ringing it three more times, but before she could lift her hand back to the bell and even try to, someone appeared behind the desk and Atika quickly dropped her hand and offered a bright smile, doing her best to expel any thought of being utterly annoying by ringing the bell again, despite the woman being here already and giving her quiet a skeptical look.

"Hello! I'm trying to find a job as a Jewelcrafter or apprentice or something." She explained to the women who then nodded and began filling out forms and eyeing the red haired girl as she did so. The quiet scraping of her pen to paper kept Atika entertained as she watched the pen move rapidly across the parchment.

Phelan looked around as he entered The Cosmos Center, somewhat surprised by how simple the decor was. He'd half expected the place to be a lot fancier time than this, but he was more comfortable with this simple decor. Walking up to the desk, the Kelvic tapped the crystal glass three times to call a secretary. When one walked up to him, he smiled slightly and waved at her. "Hello. My name's Phelan Lyall. Um...I was looking to see if I could keep my fathers apartment in the Solar Wind Apartments now that's he's...gone on. I'm also looking for a job as a blacksmith." she said, grinning slightly.

[Lhavit Location] The Cosmos Center

Postby Izuyanai on September 14th, 2014, 9:57 pm

A young woman strolled up to the Center. She blinked up at the great building, eyes narrowing in appraisal. Izuyanai had seen this building from a distance and had been impressed with the graceful architecture. It was not disappointing viewed up close either. Sharp eyes softening, she made her way inside the building. Inside, there were a few tasteful decorations and Izuyanai especially took note of the parchment drawings. She walked up to the crystal bell and used a slender finger to tap it three times in quick succession.

At once her eyes darted from the crafted bell to the businesslike secretary that approached her. Izuyanai inclined her head politely and stated, "I would like a room at The Solar Wind Apartments. The 3 kina room if you would."

[Lhavit Location] The Cosmos Center

Postby Quinton Wyrd on September 17th, 2014, 8:39 pm

1st Bell
1st of Fall, 514AV

The Cosmos Center

It took Quinton quite a bit of time to realize that he had to, in fact, backtrack to find the visitor center. Apparently Lhavit expected most of their visitors to be sensible and expect to first find somewhere to sleep before registering as a wizard, but Quinton wasn't the sensible type. At least he found out eventually that he had to turn around.

Once he was within sight of the Cosmos Center, it was ridiculously difficult to miss. Now that Quinton knew what it was, it seemed obvious in its location and eye-catching architecture. Crossing over the water that ran beside the structure, Quinton's heavy footfalls carried him inside.

Inside just so happen to be even more confusing than Koten Temple. Thankfully, the Shinya had told him what he needed to do - to the right were rows and columns of white desks where the Center's secretaries worked. As he had been instructed by one particularly talkative Shinya, Quinton tapped the bell before the sea of desks three times, and one of the secretaries stood up and walked over to where Quinton waited.

"Afternoon, how can I help you?" the man said hurriedly.

Quinton smiled gently, nodding his head. "Hello, just looking for someplace cheap to stay and a job to pass me by for now. I don't want to take up much of your time."

"Oh, no need to worry." The secretary sounded like he was just being polite though, as his eyes now and then darted back to the desk from which he'd stood up from. "The Solar Wind Apartments have cheap one-room arrangements for those short on coin. I can exchange your mizas for kinas here if you need. As for a job, I believe that the Dusk Tower is looking for another custodian."

Quinton's head cocked in interest at the mention of a tower. "Dusk Tower? That's an interesting name for an establishment. What do they do?"

"The answer to that is... complicated," the clerk replied hesitantly. Clearly the Dusk Tower was a place of importance to Lhavit, for the clerk to not have a straightforward answer to Quinton's question. The clerk looked ready to continue speaking, but he also looked as if he desired intensely to return to his desk. So Quinton held up his hand.

"I will discover on my own terms, no need to waste time explaining to me," the traveler assured smilingly. "The Solar Wind Apartments and the Dusk Tower. I'll ask the Shinya for directions. Thank you."

A nervous but relieved smile crossed the clerk's face, his head bowing in gratitude. Work here seemed busy, Quinton noticed, though maybe it was just today.

"Thank you for your assistance. Have a good day."

The clerk nodded again, more enthusiastically this time. "Likewise, traveler. Enjoy Lhavit." And with that, the two men parted ways suddenly, the clerk to his desk and the traveler to the door. Both had their tasks laid plain before them, now awaiting only the endeavor to finish them.
Quinton is currently suspended. Apologies!

"There are no limits. Only obstacles."

[Lhavit Location] The Cosmos Center

Postby Seamus on April 10th, 2016, 5:43 am

The 5th Day of Spring, 516 AV

Seamus was enjoying the the morning as he walked from his home in Okomo Estates towards The Cosmos Center. There was still some snow on the ground from the previous night and he childishly stomped through it listening to it crunch under foot. Slowly he made his journey from one end of town to the other being careful to not slip while still having fun.

The young man eventually made his way to his destination. The Cosmos Center was a place Seamus had been to before but he had always found it to be funny the contrast between the outside of the building and the inside. He walked toward the threshold of the center and gathered his thoughts in regards to his purpose for the day. He knew that it was high time that he get back to work and hunting. He walked through the doorway and into the building, then he made his way to the crystal bell. He knew the deal and rand the bell while waiting for the secretary to help him.

He watched as Youchi came and greeted him asking something along the lines of how she could be of help. Seamus responded in like with, "I am in need of work, I am a hunter by trade." The woman then responded saying that she thought she knew of just the thing and shuffled through some files before handing Seamus some paperwork to fill out. He filled out the papers and thanked Youchi for her help before getting all of the needed details and thanked her for her help then took his leave of her.

11th Spring 516 AV;

It just seemed odd to Vick as he waited in a short line. Everyone was ringing the bell three times, got saw and seems the workers would help place you for a job of your choice. It was odd as Sahova did not really seem to have the same system but at the end everyone worked or was food.

Yet he would try here and hope for the best as he moved forward ringing the bell three times and waited which did not take long before someone saw Vick.

“Yes...I would...like a job...I have a history with Malediction, Carving and Drawing. Would you be able to help me with this request?”

Vick said softly as he looked at them. With luck he could get pointed in the right area for his type of request.

[Lhavit Location] The Cosmos Center

Postby Jasper Whitewriter on April 17th, 2016, 5:42 pm

‘It wasn’t long before Lhavit opened up before him; even from the outside skyglass made the entire mountain glow.’ Looking back at the drop-off behind him, I was glad to be staying for a while. Looking around, the first I thing noticed was a giant, shimmering building to the right of the entrance to the city. I let my curiousity run wild as I walked up to the door. As I stepped up to the front I saw a sign that read, ‘Cosmos Center.’

I pushed the doors open and saw a line of white carved tables. Figuring that it was the registrar desk, I walked up and saw a crystal bell in front of me. After ringing it a few times a young red-head approached me from behind the desks. I tried my best to get the words ‘I need a job and a room.’ but but ended up sounding more like “I uh… need.. A job… andd uh.. Uhh… room pl.. Please?” I half expected her to ask me to repeat myself but she smiled and said, “Of course sir! Now first off, what job would you be interested in?” I pondered to myself for a second then said with more confidence, “I uh, would like to do something with my hands and aura, kinda like uhh.. A Masseuse. ”I smiled and she smiled back saying, “Now where would you like your housing?”

I responded quickly, glad I did my research, “The 3 kino apartment.” Finally I filled out some paperwork and she said to check In every 24 Bells on the 12th Bell for any response. “Thank you.. Kind miss. I am uhh.. Grateful for your help.” I turned and walked out the door.
