Basic Information Name: Vespera Race: Ethaefal of Leth, Moon God Age: Unknown, but appearing in her late twenties, as was the age of her death. Gender: Female Physical Description Ethaefal Form: As are most Ethaefal, Vespera is tall and statuesque, a full-figured 5'9" and 140 pounds. Her skin is smooth, opalescent, and lit with the moon. When bared, sometimes even the very reflections of the moon and constellations seem to pass across her skin. Her eyes are heavy-lidded, thickly-lashed, and a vivid, luminous violet. While her hair is always abundantly long, and elegantly-carved, glass-like horns curl back from its waves, the hues differ with the seasons. In Winter, an icy silver with violet horns; in Fall, light-dappled auburn with golden horns; in Spring, silver-touched lavender with ivory horns; and in Summer, rich, silken black with horns of metallic emerald. The constant shifting of colours in her hair and horns make for a shimmering, stained glass effect. Earthbound (Symenestra) Form: In "mortal-seeming" form, Vespera's skin loses its luminescence, and remains a soft, pale ivory. Her hair is midnight black, and the curving horns lose all of their colour, literally mirroring glass. Tall as it is, her form seems to lengthen to willowy, primed for the flexible acrobatics of her kind. Her eyes dilate darkly, shifting to amethyst; if impassioned, she sprouts graceful fangs and crescent claws. Concept Vespera might be called a sorrowful creature. In Ethaefal form, she is thoughtful, peaceful, and prone to reminiscing. Above all, she loves to listen to the stories and memories of others. She might be considered a dreamer, often standing and gazing at objects, landscapes, or even people for uncanny lengths of time, losing herself, in order to imprint them in her memory before she loses them. She is intense in her pursuit to trace the world on paper, and absorbs new knowledge with hunger. Though she forgets much from her previous "mortal life," she is wise. Under the sun, when Vespera returns to her earthbound form, she is somewhat changed. She is deeply troubled, struggling with her own being. She seems to have difficulty taming her mortal emotions, and is wracked by nightmares and terrifying visions of her death and past life quite often. History As a Symenestra, Vespera may have lived an unremarkable life. What she recalls of her past life suggests that she spent her childhood in the elegant nests of Kalinor. Her recurring nightmares do not let her forget her death: she birthed a child and, like so many Symenestran women before her, was killed in the process. Her own spawn poisoned her, devouring her from the inside out. It was unlikely she had even lived to the age of thirty. This is one of the very few recollections of her past life that remain with her, even when she coalesces into her earthbound form. Her fall from the spirit world remains one of her most beautiful memories. While she longs desperately to slip back into the fissure from whence she came, returning to complete the cycle of her life in the divine realm, her visions upon returning to Mizahar were breathtaking. Before her, below her, all around her, spread the varied landscape of Mizahar; its rivers like fingers, its seas of grass like silky hair, its stars like eyes, a creature of earth and ocean and sky. She fell in love with its intricacies and this vision of the land that she was granted: just once, and would never truly see again. She tumbled down, was swallowed into the ocean, and rose onto the shore clinging, in her mind's eye, to that vision of Mizahar. Now she wanders, imbued with both hope and despair, forces and emotions that constantly tangle within her as her being is subject to change with the time and seasons. Her devotion to Leth, God of the Moon, inspires her to true divine form beneath the moon, and it is then that she travels and works, drawn to recording Mizahar as she saw it during her fall - a cartographer of sorts. In the daytime, Vespera is plagued with her Symenestran form. She feels hunger, and pain, and desperate loneliness. She is tormented by memories and nightmares of her struggle for life and, ultimately, her ugly death. Uncannily, she feels possessed by her own past life, at times waking in the day to play haunting music that she has no ability to play in Ethaefal form. Vespera has no home. Mizahar is, for now, her dwelling - in all its entirety - wherever she goes, making nest-like dwellings out of tents and hammocks in trees or caverns. She wanders, but with much purpose, her foremost desire to replicate, on paper, the masterpiece she viewed of Mizahar from above. In this, she feels less lost. Skills
