I agree, it shouldn't be. However Mizahar is a very diverse world, just as the Real World is, and there's plenty of racism round here, so I can see two PCs playing out breaking up due to race issues if they think that's how their PC would act in that situation.

I think I misunderstood you somewhat at first, Goss. Your second post cleared up what you meant in my head :)
Everything needs balance, and love is often accompanied by pain. That balance needs to be upheld in the writing of such romance, and oftentimes people fall into the trap of thinking the "pain" or "bad" parts of the romance are the most interesting parts because they're less typical, and so they focus on it. It's kinda on par with peoples' "can my eyes be purple instead of blue?" question. That's not how you make it interesting. You make it interesting through being realistic, even in fantasy.
I am nowhere. I am everywhere. I am the watcher unseen

[Gossamer's Scrapbook] The Ethereal Canyon

When it comes to fiction, I LOVE angsty, conflicted love. It's ridiculous how much of a fan girl I am for them.

Ironically though... I dislike it in real life. I have seen SO many situations about 'forbidden love'. It happens, especially in our culture. And it makes me extremely sad. I've seen people self-destruct because of it. I simply don't enjoy seeing it in real life.

Maybe the reason I like it in fiction is because happy endings rarely happen when this happens in real life, but in fiction, I can root for them. I am so silly.

If any of my PCs ever fall in love, it will not be the angsty "we can't be together" kind, I promise :D If someone tells Alea something can't be done, she will find a way. She's stubborn like that...

Of course, that requires one of my PCs to fall in love, which is a monumental task in itself x.x

I suppose I enjoy writing whatever you would like to classify Sira and Addy's love as. Whatever you want to call it, I have had a blast writing it these past two (or is it three?) years.
Forecast for tonight... Dark

Promises Promises Promises
It's not easy learning the cold hard truth.

So I want to write this huge scrap and vent about how some people behave and the actions they perform on this site - especially in the name of making friends or rather 'buying' friendship. It's not surprising when its a player, but when its an ex-ST it is somewhat shocking to me. In the last week I've gotten no more than about ten pms (maybe more, I'd have to count) from players stating that an ex-storyteller made them promises of special favors, items, and scenarios. I'm absolutely sick to my stomach about it. Sick. Don't you realize people don't need to be bribed to like you if you just be yourself? But if you offer to bribe first rather than give them a chance to get to know you, expecting that to be the only way they will like you or come to your domain, then something is seriously wrong. Seriously.... This shouldn't happen here. And you know, most sites wouldn't talk about it openly. I will. It's bullshit. And its sad. It's pathetic. But unfortunately humans are humans, and some of them don't share the same values as others. But when you don't give people even a chance or a choice by being yourself first, you rob yourself of something very personal and real. No one likes the alternative. And people won't like you because they will see fake fake fake.

It is almost a self fulfilling prophecy.

Do You Ever Feel Like This?
I do. And its the best sensation in the world.

The world is full of marvelous and wonderful things. Mizahar is the same way. You just have to reach out and find them.
And if they can't be found, then you simply have to reach deep inside and create them.
