[Gossamer's Scrapbook] The Ethereal Canyon

Apparently I am an INTP, and this dastardly personality quiz has ripped me apart and scrutinized every little piece of my personality. It's crazy how accurate this. At first, I thought it was a silly thing that couldn't possibly accurately describe me, but now I realize that it explains a lot. Maybe I can learn to reign in some of the things I do that cause social friction like trying to change the ideas of an INTJ with one of my own as a basis. It explains why we initially had a minor clash. My opinions and preferences change on a dime and I don't deal in absolutes or finalities, where INTJ's may have negative opinions about my indecision or dislike me for meddling with their idea and rebuilding it into something they don't care for.

But our types do more often than not get along once we get to know each other.

INTP's worry too much about minor shit that INTJ's don't consider important or relevant because the INTP's overthink things from too many different angles.

Site History Response

I forget that there's about three people, maybe four, that have been here since the beginning and know how this site came to be. And I think therein lies the biggest problem. I assume everyone knows the truth and just chuckle at the copious amounts of rumors out there.

Hopefully now it makes sense why I'm very protective of this site and my vision of it. And equally, I hope people understand why I tend to take the well meaning advice people offer (especially the Sneazy camp as Shahar calls it) on how I should do things with a grain of salt. It feels, to me, a little like trying to tell an artist how to paint their paintings after they've sold a few and already made a slight name for themselves. Why fix something that in my mind isn't broken? The rules are simple and very non-restricting.

In a way, I posted some of the videos and info about the INTJ personality types because you have to understand sometimes we don't react to things the same way most people do. I don't need the social aspect of this site like others might. I don't think the site is its community. To me I see the community as an ever evolving and changing open organic living system with people coming and going unpredictably. I like the players. I appreciate them and their stories. But to me, if there were less players I would shrug and think 'Cool, now I have more time to write solos and develop new cities and put in some of those project disciplines I've been longing too." Cold and unfeeling? Hardly. I just love isolation and project time more than I love dealing with people. To most others this makes someone like me seem like the worst sort of sociopath or megalomaniac. INTJ's are used to this. Seriously. We just shrug and maybe chuckle because we realize you are wired differently than we are.

If there were no players here, I'd still crank out posts and write up NPCs and develop and gut cities and rework them because it gives me a great deal of pleasure to do so.

And as to the other Founders...

Players can also see that our history together is one of the reasons the people who can do something about me or my actions (Tarot, Gillar, Liminal) just sit back and pop popcorn and watch all the drama in my scrapbook (and on the site) unfold. I'd bet money - good hard cash - that they read everything here and indeed have a good idea what goes on in and about the site even if they seem to be disinterested or too busy to be here. You might see them as gone or AWOL, but I know they love and love deeply and would always check up on Miz as long as its around. Frankly, they've seen far worse in my scraps over the years here and on other sites and just let me ... be me. And for that I'm always grateful. They knew what they were getting into heading into this project. We've all known each other for a lifetime in regards to internet time and we are all in a way family. In fact, I like them far more than I've ever liked my own flesh and blood. I liked one so much - Gillar - I married him. Tarot or Liminal could have a kidney any day. They'd just need to make a call.

Graders Please Note :
As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

Note to self: Some people like talking about threading more than they like actually threading. Avoid those types.

I hear the most wonderful plots dreamed up in chat, on AIM, and in various other places like Scraps. Yet rarely do they manifest. People sit around and wait for others to tell them stories. Everyone here should be a storyteller. But sadly they are not. Those plots are dreamed up then left to wither. It's tragic.

I don't want to interact with anyone anymore who sits and waits to be entertained. I want to write with those that will entertain in turn.

Dear Goss,

I have taken up the liberty of naming myself the representative of a vast majority of the players of Mizahar, and thus I want to expose this very important problem that has arisen in the last few days.
