No One Has Time For It

Drama is drama is drama. We've been sailing along quite peacefully, no issues, everyone's happy, and the writings been fantastic. If you're an ex-player that left in a rage-quit and then comes back and stirs the pot in chat and on other venues, please be aware your going to get issued an uninvite. It's not spontaneous or me throwing a childish tantrum. I don't give a shit about where you are or what you're doing unless your stirring up problems here. And if you do, you're gone. And truthfully no one is going to care your gone if you just got back and started shit again.

Too bad you didn't learn anything while you were gone. Go write a bad review or something and get your anger out of your system and go play on another of the hundred sites out there. Cause no one has time for your drama here.

And sure you might have unlimited non-static IPs to troll us with. No one gives a shit about your problems. They have problems of their own. It just proves my point when you come back over and over again getting alt after alt and email after email banned that you probably aren't mature enough for this site after all. Neopets are always taking new players.

Some Changes

The Staff and I have been talking. We're going to open up the ability for DS's who are active to operate in more than one Domain so they can promote some cross domain interactions and get a change of pace from all the day to day grind they have in their familiar domains. Look for some interesting plots forthcoming. I know I myself will be taking on a second Domain and jumpstarting the story for that sometime this weekend.

What this means is that a DS might be DS of more than one city or area.

Just A Few Thoughts

So a pm has been circulating recruiting for another game. The recruiter is no longer here, but I just wanted to point out that you are more than welcome to go play elsewhere. Be forewarned though. They sit around in their chat talking about us and how much they hate us, not about the actual game they are on and how fantastic it is. The PM that was sent around claimed that 25 plus people left Mizahar yesterday, creating new accounts there. That's fantastic. But honestly I didn't think we had 25 stable players here to begin with day in and day out. And this morning all the same people are still in chat and all the same people are still posting. Those I uninvited? Well, I'm sure they are migrating over and that's cool. I'd rather write on a great site with great people than hang out in a bitter chat full of another site's rejects.

I wish them luck. However, if they don't get net traffic, they aren't going to survive on other site's rejects. Why? It's a finite resource. They thrive fora while and then flounder and fade away. It's happened over and over and over again. But happily they had someplace awesome like Miz to copy their system from and grab things like the price list and XP system. We're always happy to help. :P

If you weren't invited, don't feel bad. I'm sure you can find someone to give you the URL or tell you all about it. But if I were you and you missed out on the invite, I'd be flattered. It means they don't consider you disgruntled enough to want to leave. My favorite part of yesterday's heavy recruiting effort by them was when they contacted a Founder's girlfriend. That was just precious.

I'm going to say this just once. I'm so over the bitching, complaining, and whining that is in itself creating all the drama. It's a recruitment drive and nothing else. If you're so unhappy I want you to leave. Obviously there are better fits out there site wise for you. There is zero need for it on Mizahar. We are not a social media site. We are a writing site. If you're so unhappy for whatever reason and don't feel the need to correct what's making you unhappy then simply move on. From this point on I'm not tolerating it anymore. Those of us that are here to write prefer and deserve to write without distractions.

I'm so disappointed I didn't get recruited to do a thing (not as if they'd send a PM to my account anyway). But I bet they have 100% fewer hedgehogs.

Pretty much the best t-shirt ever in regards to Miz, ain't it? Well I found one that said "Ya'll need Jesus!" but I thought it was a bit hypocritical being pagan. Anyhow, I just wanted to drop a note here saying that I'm off chasing a dream for the next few days. I may or may not share the details later. I'll be back Sunday, but I suspect I'll be in recovery mode. Life is too short to sit around babysitting websites day in and day out. So I tend not too.

We have some new staff coming on in a day or two. I'm sorry for keeping them waiting with my continued absence. But that means two new domains opening up that have been closed a while. That's always exciting. We also have two new scribes so the WD forum is moving along nicely now.

Rosela is even finishing her Eyph rewrite. I'm super jazzed about that. But anyhow, just wanted to let you know I'm still (unfortunately to some of you) kicking around. And I'll be back strong Sunday after all the adventure.

As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

I will be handling all Ball related posts on Mondays @ 1800 my time *

Bucket Lists & Fashion Weeks

Image

Life is a funny thing. You get a small sense of this when you are young. But as you grow older it becomes more and more clear about how odd life is. Its often short, shorter than you'd imagine, and quirky. Life is even often not very good if you sit around and wait for something interesting to occur. It becomes a whole lot better if you guide it a great deal and make things happen for yourself. In recent years its been popular to create bucket lists. And I have one, of course, which involves a whole bunch of crazy things including learning a new art form each year and moving to Panama. But this previous weekend one of my top things on my bucket list got to happen.

You see I love fashion, makeup, hair, and design. I'm in love with colors and if you ask me what my favorite color is I will invariably give you a different answer hourly, minute by minute, and even seasonally. I'm in love with color and fall for different shades each and every day. And there's this Emmy Award Winning Designer which changed my life. I actually hosted gatherings of women around this man's work and had a lot of DIY parties involving David Zyla and his techniques. This weekend past, however, I got to go see him since he had a stop in Seattle and had appointments open. I got to meet up with my Seattle friends that are in a FB group I've been apart of forever, and Elysium and one of my childhood bestie Mel were gracious enough to come along. Gillar hung out too escorting us ladies everywhere and catching up with my bestie's hubby Tim. So we messed around in Seattle and had fun during the weekend and then I crept off Saturday morning for hours and hours to have my appointment with David. Mel went along since she's seen him before as well.

Here's a blurb about what Zyla does.

David's Bio :

Emmy® award-winning stylist and best-selling author David Zyla has empowered tens of thousands to embrace their authentic style. His books − The Color of Style (Dutton), Color Your Style (Plume), and How to Win at Shopping (Workman) − have influenced David’s followers all over the world to adopt his unique approach to personal style and color, based on his decades of experience in fashion, costume design, and consulting.

At the age of 22, David started his Seventh Avenue evening wear label, which was featured at New York’s Fashion Week and sold by luxury retailers, including Bergdorf Goodman and Henri Bendel. Before that, he began his career in sales at Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys New York, and Tiffany & Co.

By 2001, David had already earned a reputation as a taste maker with strong ties to the global fashion community and was recruited by ABC to reinvigorate the visual quality of its daytime programming. David has held the position of head costume designer for various long-running television shows including ABC’s All My Children (2010 Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design Emmy Award), General Hospital, and Lifetime’s Devious Maids.

David has also designed for theater, film, and commercials and is currently a judge on JTV’s Rock Star Designer reality show.

His unique platform on style makes him a sought after authority on fashion and color in the media. He has been featured in a variety of broadcast media including The View, The Nate Berkus Show, The Jane Pauley Show, Marie, and CNN Style, as well as on CBS News, FOXNews, ABC News, Martha Stewart Living Radio, and Playboy Radio. He has been profiled in People magazine and The New Yorker, and featured in publications including Life & Style, More Magazine, Real Simple, Women’s Wear Daily, The Huffington Post, USA Today, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, Traditional Home, Vogue UK, Brides Magazine, Women’s Health, Daily Mail, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, Reuters, and Yahoo.

David Zyla’s unique personal style has been chronicled in The New York Times, in the book I am Dandy (Gestalten), and on websites such as Scott Schulman’s The Sartorialist, and Richard Haines’ What I Saw Today.

He has collaborated with some of the most recognizable faces of contemporary culture, including Neil Patrick Harris, Hillary Clinton, Susan Lucci, Tom Hanks, Carol Burnett, Amber Rose, and Kelsey Grammar. His lifelong passion is helping people discover their individual palette of flattering colors and unique style − the best version of themselves − through private and group style consultations all over the world.

A guest speaker, panelist, and lecturer on the transformative power of color and design and its application to wardrobe, home, and lifestyle, he is known for his engaging, educational, and fun presentations on fashion.

Recent speaking engagements include events for Barron’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, The National Arts Club, The Cosmopolitan Club, Clarins, Dress for Success, Lord and Taylor, DKNY, Bloomingdales, and Macy’s.

David often serves as a teacher and guest lecturer at major design institutions, museums, and schools, including New York University, Hofstra University, SCAD, LIM, Otterbein College, and UC Davis. He is a faculty member at Marymount Manhattan College where he teaches a regular course on Fashion, History, and Society. He attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

But more importantly, despite his distinguished career, he flies around the country and sees women privately - everyday people - and empowers them by designing clothes for them, giving them a color pallet that brings out their best colors, and gives them recommendations for hair styles, jewelry, and types. He'll talk to anyone - men included - and he will even take you shopping. I was lucky enough to get two different kinds of appointments with him. I received a color pallet and I had five outfits designed for me from him. It was four hours of intense style advice custom to me and I got to record the whole thing because there was WAY too much information to retain even a tenth of it walking out. My head was spinning and I was ecstatic. It was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. Though I could try, there's no way I can express what coming out of a professional consultation like that means to a woman. It's super charging, empowering, and gives you a confidence when dressing that is really hard to replicate.

So... he sits down and starts matching you to color by just chatting with you for an hour and snipping paint chips with scissors. You talk about anything and everything and honestly hes amazing entertainment. He sits you in beautiful light and often holds up color chips you can't see looking them over. You get a huge pile that slowly gets narrowed down until he has a specific category ready. On your first visit he does a basic palette. You can choose to come back to him later (he likes you to wait six months or longer) and then he will expand it significantly. Here's my result.

Image

My archetype turns out to be the elusive Copper Autumn. He has a whole writeup in each of his books about each archetype. He told me CA's are pretty rare. I guess the world would implode or something if there were more of us around. :) The Archetypes are broken down by seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and then each season has five archetypes. Here's my breakdown.

Copper Autumns :
Archetype: The High Stakes Gambler

Celebrities: Rita Hayworth, Katharine Hepburn, Julianne Moore, Jessica Rabbit

Motto: "I make my own luck!"

Secret Superpower: She's totally up front about what she wants and usually gets it. What she says is what she means exactly.

Kryptonite: Not getting her own way. Of course, no one likes not getting her own way. But for the Copper Autumn, being crossed, frustrated, or even unreasonably delayed just pushes her butons. That's when you see her vulnerability - her coppery flame goes out and until she finds a way to refuel, she's just not open for business.

Nature Images: Pincushion Protea, Parakeet Heliconia

Artist: Paul Cezanne

Charming Contrasts: The High Stakes Gambler has a natural sense of drama but that doesn't mean shes looking for high contrast ensembles. In fact, low contrasts work better for her coloring and she should look to her metals as a way of pulling together the different shades in her outfits. She's lucky in that metallic clothing works for day as well as evening wear, so that a copper knit sweater is a perfect casual accessory worn with second base fine wale corduroy slacks

Fabulous Fabrics: Taffeta (matte), Shantug, Sari, Challis

Signature Scents: Marigold, Grapefruit

Must Haves: Whats the ideal wardrobe for a High Stakes Gambler? A mandarin-style brocade coat, slim velvet stretch pants, a ribbed turtleneck, a high-waisted pencil skirt, and a taffeta fit-and-flare party dress. Feisty, passionate and daring she needs clothes that allow her to stride through life while looking as though she can well afford to be at a high stakes table.

Must Avoids: Royal Blue and Red Orange. Even though she's going to love those colors, the coolness of royal blue washer her out and the orange is too heavy and hard for her since it clashes with the reds that are always in her hair. And our Copper Autumn should pass on drop-waste dresses and polo shirts. This feisty type needs to have a tight-fitted waist in all her clothing, as if to remind her of her strong, rooted base. (There's more advice here but I'm cutting it short.)

Personality and Spirit: By some accounts, this High Stakes Gambler is what you might call a hothead- in a totally sultry, glamorous way, of course. As befits a High Stakes Gambler, the Copper Autumn is adventurous, tenacious, and forthright. Usually, the Copper Autumn is good at asking for exactly what she wants in both love and work. "I would really appreciate a conversation with you about my future at the company and a possible promotion." she might say. Or perhaps, "I've loved these last few months, but now we need to talk about where this relationship is going." Nothing in her life happens by chance or coincidence. She makes it happen. She's strong, sure of herself, and willing to take risks. She also refuses to take no for an answer.

Scary Huh? If you know me at all you know this hits the nail on the head about me in all aspects. David Zyla is really good at what he does. Really really good... in a scary way.

So what does it mean? Let me break it down a bit.

Image

The Romantic Color
Taken from the color of your flushed skin, the Romantic Color intensifies ones masculinity or femininity, and is your version of red. Wear it when you want to look your most romantic. While it can be worn in the daytime for casual looks or sports clothing, it looks best or evening in dressy attire, such as evening dresses and dinner jackets.

The Essence Color
This is a direct extension of your pigmentation and is always flattering to wear. This is your version of white and to be worn in place of white. Its best used In blouses, shirts, or lingerie and can be used in a dress of a simple design.

The Pastel Color
The Pastel Colors are lighter versions of your palette colors, used whenever a softer effect is desired. Use in dress shirts, blouses, and summer clothes or even sheets and towels.

The Metallic Color
The Metallic Color is used in accessories, such as jewelry, shoes, and purses and any metallic fabric or trim. This color can also be used for any personal design object in metal, such as a pen, belt bucket, business card case, eye wear, etc.

Image

The Tranquil Color
Understated and quieting, the Tranquil Color achieves the opposite effect of the dramatic and can be used whenever a soft, peaceful effect is desired. It’s your “Spa” color and has a reserved quality that makes it appropriate for daywear of all types. It’s also considered a healing color that’s also supportive to wear during conflict resolution.

The Energy Color
A flattering effect is easily achieved by wearing your Energy Color. This calming color blends with your energy and takes very little effort to wear. Because of this it is carried off in any sort of clothing including suits, dresses, sweaters, trousers, skirts, etc. IT is a supportive color that you won’t tire of and is flattering in any setting. Because of its versatility, it’s recommended for travel.

The Dramatic Color
The Dramatic Color is the strongest contrast to your natural coloring. This is the color to wear whenever you want to make a strong impression including clothing or interviews, formal affairs, TV, or parties were you are the guest of honor. It can also be worn in well-fitting active wear, such as bathing suits, ski clothing, bike wear, etc. Due to its intensity, it is not recommended to be worn when you are tired or when wearing loose, sloppy clothing, such as sweat clothes.

Image

The First Base

The most formal, the First Base is your “Black” and a neutral color for you. It can be paired with any of your other colors. When building a wardrobe, begin with this color. Invest in your most important expensive outfits in this color, such as an overcoat, suit, or a simple dress. An outfit in your First Base will always look right at formal occasions, business meetings, funerals, weddings, or the theater.

The Second Base

An everyday base, the Second Base is your “Brown.” This color is less formal than your First Base, and is an “everyday” neutral. It is great for slacks, sport coats, suits, or dresses.

The Third Base
The Third Base is your least formal neutral and is your “Khaki.” This color is great for jeans, chinos, and casual wear. You may wear a suit, blazer, or a dress in this color, but the effect will be more casual.

ImageHere's me surrounded by my palette.

I am in love with my palette and honestly it was filled with colors I already wear or own. He also gave me four hours of recommendations on sleeve length, skirt type, pants type, and fabrics fabrics fabrics! Oh my, it will take me hours to transcribe the recorded session! He gave me countless style tips for the next part of my appointment. I had homework... a pinterest board gathered with things I loved - clothing, jewelry, colors. And then I had to come up with five outfit designs I wanted him to do for me.

Here's what I came up with and what he created from my ideas.

Signature Style Outfit

This outfit sums up my archetype, coloring, and incorporates my season and palette in a day to day way I can put together without too much thought. It should scream "Jen!" I'd like something I can dress up or dress down accordingly. This should be something when people describe me or picture me they picture me dressed as. I almost always wear jeans, jean shorts, or capris so I want this outfit to reflect this, including accessories.

I got bermuda shorts, a tank, layered over an overshirt/kimono, with sandals and a long necklace. He said I would rock a fedora and gave me very specifics on type, texture, etc. This is really like what I love wearing and I was thrilled to see it put together better than I was doing. Also, no more black sandals. I get metallic sandals, obi belts, and all kinds of cool shit.

My Signature Style Outfit He Designed :
Image

Artistic Flare Outfit

This outfit should be something that's funky, fun, and screams 'She's an eccentric artist!" As a stained glass artist, jeweler, painter, and fine artist I have situations where I'm either selling my art, representing it during events (showings/Gallery openings), or perhaps even interviewing for a commission. I'd like this outfit to be adaptable to a more casual lifestyle since my ultimate dream is to sell glass art to tourists in the tropics out of a small shop. This could be a dress, though I really only feel comfortable in low flowy skirts.

I got a wild native american overcoat in wool with bright patterns, my same tank or t shirt, and some nice leggings and tall boots. I love this outfit and am beginning to conceptualize it and I'll sew it later on. He wants me to wear lots of fringe.

My Artistic Flair Outfit He Designed :
Image

Tropical Travel Outfit

This outfit should be something I can functionally use and transform traveling lightly and comfortably with just a few pieces of clothing (out of a carryon) and still remain fresh, versatile, and well dressed. This should be 'easy' and look stylish without trying too hard. I'd prefer this to be both versatile for flights and driving, yet something I could modify quickly for relaxing at a destination. So in other words, functional clothing I can swap sandals for hiking boots for and take off on a trail once I get to my destination. I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling to exotic places this summer and spending time in foregin countries which are mostly jungle.

This is very similar to my signature style. However, its paired with an overcoat jacket, military or mandarin, and a few other things that change out nicely.

My Travel Outfit He Designed :
Image

Special Occasion Outfit

Living a casual lifestyle, my idea of 'formal' is the occasional class reunion, seasonal wedding, holiday and an occasional musical theater night out with the husband. This should be something i can comfortably mingle in, maybe dance, and perhaps sit down to a formal meal and still be comfortable. Please include accessories with this one since I need the most help with this type of outfit.

This was a maxi shirt with details, my same shell inner shirt/tank/T, and a fitted military jacket with lots of details. He loves my hair in chopsticks (which I wear a lot) and gave me great recs for jewelry on this one.

My Special Occasion Outfit He Designed :
Image

Wildcard Outfit

Is there an outfit that you think I MUST have in my wardrobe? I have many friends who have visited you and have walked away from their visits with outfits that really worked for them that they did not think of on their own. I'm leaving this one open to your creativity keeping in mind my casual lifestyle and my carefree adventurous soul.

Wowsers. This one blew me away. He said I was one of the few types that could pull off a full body beaded maxi-dress with a fur wrap. He said reminiscent of the 40's but in a more mature manner. I have almost forty five minutes of him talking about this one on tape.

David's Choice Wildcard He Designed :
Image

Overall this was a super empowering session and I loved it. The outfits are ME all the way and the colors I'm utterly in love with. He cautioned me that I can't wear jewelry like most women can. I need big bold pieces... a wrist cuff with natural stones and one big necklace, not gobs of necklaces or gobs of bracelets. He wants huge and minimal statement pieces in copper, brass, bronze... no silver at all... very light on the bright gold. He liked everything brushed or oxidized for me. I walked out glowing.

Then, here's one last share. This is some of my FB group taking over the hotel bar and discussing our appointments and recs. Elysium took the pic. We had a fantastic time and were there for hours. Three more ladies joined us. The tab was outrageous because we drank way too much.

Image

So that's where I've been for the last couple of weeks.. first researching and planning for my session with David. And afterwards cleaning out my closet and changing out my entire wardrobe. I'm back now ... and if you read this whole thing, grats on you! I know a few of you are interested and might like to see the whole thing. So I posted it up. I expected every guy on this game (except for about two of them) to roll their eyes and groan.

Add On: A pic of my friend Mel wearing a recreation of one of her Zyla Sketches!

Not quite one of those guys to roll their eyes and groan. I'll admit that I didn't read all of this but I did skim it. Fashion isn't my thing, I've never had an interest in it to be honest. However, I always like to read what you post in your scrap and the enthusiasm and excitement literally hit me in the face when I started reading

Now obviously it's not my thing but the whole process of choosing colours for a palette and the end result are fascinating to me. More importantly, I can tell just how thrilled you are to have had this opportunity and I'm delighted for you. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself and that you have the base of your colour palette. You have the excuse to see him in the future to get it expanded. Although I don't think you need an excuse to be honest. :P

So yes, I'm just posting to say I'm pleased you had such an exciting weekend. :)

I've never been a superfan of Steve Jobs, but he always had great things to say. I've admired his career and was saddened by his eventual loss of his battle with cancer. One of his really famous speeches (A commencement speech at Stanford I believe) had this quote ...

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice."

This is so true. This last year for me has been one of self discovery. I've been busy doing things. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but when you work all the time you don't get a lot of time to DO THINGS. Fortunately I have had that opportunity when my schedule sifted so I had all afternoon and evenings off (minus the time I had to go back to swing to cover for an injured worker). It started last year with my mother's death in June. Suddenly the whole 'what would she think' kinda threw out the window because frankly she was dead and she wasn't going to care anymore.

When you have bad relations with your parents and they die, you seriously go through a shitstorm of emotion that for people like me is hard to deal with. I had to come to terms with the fact that I wasn't ever going to please this woman and that she was never going to be proud of me despite the fact I was the first family member to graduate from college. I held a professional career. Then bought my own place with my own money. And in essence made something of myself and didn't say get knocked up in highschool, drop out of college, or shame the family in some way. It just never was good enough for her. Ever. And it took me another year to say... "Lady, I hated you." And I really did. No therapy needed. Just some hard long looks at what was and what could have been and what was never going to be. And it was ironic that I wasted so much brain time on her and so many bad holidays slinking down to her house to be judged and in reality what was she? She was a fucking house wife who landed a mill worker husband by dumping hot coffee in his lap. She never worked a day in her life after her early twenties wherein she judged me for all sorts of things and I WASNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER FOR???? Okay so maybe I'm still working on that part of it. :P

I remodeled my home without a care in the world. I put hardwoods in - a deep rich warm color that WASN'T neutral - then painted the walls a spicy Moroccan orange and filled the space with heavy chocolate furniture which I later found out through my visit with Zyla was my ideal version of black. I gutted my kitchen. Its now a seaglass wonder. I started learning Stained Glass. I started dying textiles. I started saying more 'yes' than 'no' to irl invites (as long as they weren't in Seattle for Karaoke on a Sunday in 100 degree weather in June - Sorry Beky and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY!). I cleaned up my credit score (it just hit a fantastic all time high today!). I got my husband a boat and we use it to go fishing and run away with.

Last week I took a dozen bids on a roof job and this week I'll be taking a dozen more on a Heat Pump because its just the first of June and its supposed to be a 100 out today. I don't want to live my life this year without central AC. The Public Utility District (power company) is offering a 1,400 dollar rebate if we install a heat pump and use it instead of the furnace. That will almost nullifying our costs, so that makes me super happy. Yea to home improvement. It's absolutely the best thing in the world being a home owner AND being able to improve that home.

Speaking of which I've been gutting my possessions and paring down my life. My husband and I have a dream of moving out of the country in the next ten years and that dream will start with a trip to where we want to move in August. We hope to buy property on the beach and spend the remainder of our days sipping rum infused fruit drinks and not having a care in the world. So maybe property this trip and building a house on it later on. I'm hoping to be able to sell glass art to the tourists. Things like pyramids filled with local sand to remind them of their vacations, etc. It would be a fantastic life if the art glass providers in the area don't all get shut down by the DOE (department of Ecology). I've been really worried about that because now Spectrum has closed its doors forever. Bullseye is shut down. And I have no idea where we are going to get the remainder of our art glass for stained glass pieces. #FirstWorldArtistProblems #SaveStainedGlass #SaveArtGlass

But I do know I can get a whole heck of a lot more writing done in someplace nice if I'm not at work 60-70 hrs a week.

This leaves me to Mizahar. There for a while there was so many douchebags on this site, so many haters, and so many angry folks I couldn't stand to be here. And the ironic thing is - ask any of the staffers or regulars - there was no reason to be angry or for people to be acting out. All these percieved slights. All these laundry lists of faults... guess what? Websites have faults. Games have faults. People have faults. I wasn't doing anything different that I haven't been doing since 2009. In fact I wasn't doing anything at all because I wasn't here most of the time. Congratulations. You bitched for nothing. I'd pop in when someone (usually another staffer or long time player) asked me to and ban a few of the retards who were causing the ruckus when it got to the point things like that needed to happen.

If you want to change sites, change systems, or change your life you don't need to vilify someone whose busted their ass to do it. Guess what? You don't even remotely need to make an excuse or provide a reason. "I want a change." Is good enough for everyone else. It should be good enough for the person wanting the change.

But frankly I have been so busy this year I didn't post with my main PC all season. Yup. Nothing but placeholders the last day just in case I changed my mind. I anticipate a slow down since summer is in reality here in the Pacific Northwest (It's 100 today seriously) and time is just a countdown for me leading up to my vacation to the tropics.

But enough rambling. I have a few goals I need to get done this weekend now that my 10 hour day in 90+ degrees on cement is over with. (I'm still fricking overheated from that - No AC in my equipment I operate either). I want to get an RF calendar up. I know whats on it... I just need to format and post. I want to work on Syka a bit more. Syka has me excited. I've had some long discussions with Gillar and I'll probably shoot Tarot an email to see what he thinks or just let him comment on what he reads in my plotnotes of Syka if he sees them. I want to inject a bit more magically bent sci-fi into Miz. I need change here. I'm tired and grouchy of the same old ten thousand questions "Can my half Vantha still have color changing eyes and punk rock highlights in his hair?" I'm kinda over that. Burned out if you will.

I want to do something different. I want to introduce you to the world I envisioned Marcus and Myrna Kelvic living in. We've gotten to roleplay some of that out in flashbacks and they were always dear threads to me. They traversed planets like some of the travelers traversed the Watchtower portals. They sailed the stars. The clues to this will be in and around Syka where I've already placed a fully functional World Gate that escaped the Valterrian due to distance, luck in placement, and magical protections. So I want to design Syka like my future laid back Bocas home. And I want to do it slowly by settlers and people that want to move in just for the rp. And then I want to uncover the mysteries it holds.

It will be a lot of things. What it won't be is a replacement for native Myrians and Dhani. While I admire both races, I'm going to be making this a human outpost where both of those types are seen as dangerous and mostly unwelcome. The skills I've come up with to support this new settlement include both mundane and magical disciplines that were long lost. World Walking is one of them. Another one is going to be Djed Stream Sailing. This might lead to airships and other new forms of transportation. Time will tell.

Time is the key here. Making it. Finding it. Utilizing it. First things first. I've neglected the HD for well over a month. I will get that caught up first and foremost and some of my very insightfully written but unresponded too PMs in my box. You know who you are.
