I'm okay, thankfully.
My town took very little damage - all I saw was a statue that fell from the top of a church and a dislodged flag at the city hall. It was a rough minute, but nothing even fell from the shelves. Some of my neighbors ran outside and I've heard people on the bus saying they spent the next night in their car out of fear. I just checked the house for cracks, found none, and went back to bed. It helped that I wasn't even asleep at the time and so I didn't get a forceful wakeup call from the forces of nature.
We were lucky, of course. Very lucky. The town a few miles North of us was hit badly. It's just that, the quake being so shallow, it quickly lost energy as it spread further out. A magnitude 6 quake is serious business here because it's so very rare. It's the strongest there can possibly be in this area, and there hadn't been one like this in 300 years. Anyway, I'm fine!
