Gotta Lament the Warmth of Summer [Open]

Fall 85th, 511 AV, Mid-morning

She crouched in the snow at the door of the Red Diamond tavern, her fur shimmering as one of the few colours here in the white city of ice and snow. Her attention was focused entirely upon the clouds of frost she caused when she snorted. This was her newest source of amusement in the city (although the snow was still just as fun to enjoy). Her paws shifted in the flattened snow, crunching the cold, frozen water as she tried to keep them warm. Her body heat was creating slush, and she found it starting to get slippery where she stood.

With a sudden snort of condensation, Riley rose off her haunches and began on her way to where she’d stashed her clothes under a nice pile of snow. She tracked it with scent, not trusting her eyes to tell her where she’d left her clothes (there were many piles of snow around her and the Vantha). As she walked, she kicked a few little chunks of snow out of the way, discovering yet another source of amusement in the great, cold city. A purr-like sound rumbled past her throat as she tallied up everything she could do here whenever ennui would choose to hit her, the purr somewhat forced as her species rarely ever did.

Her body wound its way through Vantha legs and around lumbering polar bears in their enviable glory. They knew her for a Kelvic, and so they didn’t question her presence, even though some Vantha were uncertain with her tucking around their bodies like they were stones and she was water. Her long tail flicked to-and-fro as she moved, thinking about knocking over one of these uncertain people and seeing what fun could come out of it.

She wouldn't though. It was getting colder. It had been all Season. The cold was something she had not been ready for when she found herself this far north, and she felt she ought to do something about it (since her coat never got thicker).
AHAHAHAHA!

Gotta Lament the Warmth of Summer [Open]

Day 44, Season of Fall, Year 511AV

OOC :
Is about 12 weeks old at the TimeStamp

She was proud of her new shoes, they kept her feet warm and they looked very nice and ever since she had gotten them they had lasted fine and stayed dry. She had been able to very easily leave the Savintar Warrens because now she could walk, without hurting her feet.

Grinning she waved at another traveler and waggle of her fingers and a smirk before she stuck her foot out, cackling as they fell face first in the snow. Not bothering to check if the now angry, cold person was okay she hurried her pace, something had caught her eye. Something interesting. Weaving her way through the taller people in a way she’d gotten used to, to her they were simply buildings she avoided.

Though she didn’t get far, a warm hand fell out her shoulder and spun her around. It was the man she had tripped, obviously Vantha from the way his eyes changed rapidly with each tone of voice. Unfortunately for him she had no idea what he was saying, her father had taught her his language and her mothers, neither were Vani though she could pick up a few words like ‘rude’ and ‘girl’ and probably something about respect. Not that she was truly focusing, no, the young Kelvic was still fascinated by his eyes.

“Pretty.” Frozen fingers touched the side of his face and a small smile tugged at her lips, ignoring his sputtering and embarrassment Erin suddenly remembered what had first caught her attention.

A cat. A very large cat. One who wandered the streets like nothing, it had to be a Kelvic or the Ice Bears wouldn’t have just let it wander. She couldn’t stop the excitement that flowed through her veins. If she was right it would be her fifth met Kelvic and none who knew her parents! Without realizing it her feet had begun running in the last direction she had seen the magnificent being.

Not realizing the Red Diamond Tavern was not, in fact, a house she pounded on the door,
“Woah there little lady, no minors allowed.”

Hands gently pushed her away and shut the door softly but firmly. It wasn’t fair! She had been so close! She just wanted to talk to it. Pouting she stubbornly sat in front of the door, if she couldn’t go in no one could!

But there! A flash of tail, of black amongst the white, people parting for something that wasn’t there. It had to be the cat. Standing up suddenly she nearly knocked intot he person that came out,
“Now didn’t I just—“

“Didn’t you just.” She nodded quickly, agreeable as ever and waving the man’s hand off she raced towards the feline. Realizing that in animal form it was gaining more round because people actually moved for the large cat Erin reached out and tried to grasp its tail, her shout barely rising over the hustle and bustle of everyone else.

“Mr—er, Mrs? Oh, Cat! Kelvic Cat! I want to talk to you!”
