Talbot (WIP)

Postby Talbot on September 24th, 2011, 5:05 am

Basic Information

Name: Talbot
Age: 23 Winter, 508 AV (3 years old, but appears to be in early adulthood)
Race: Kelvic
Gender: Male

Physical Description

Human
Talbot is adequately built at a height of five feet and ten inches, and a weight of 165 pounds. Tufts of auburn hair veil his tawny eyes, bordered by a dark shade of purple as a result of restlessness. The attributes of his secondary form in his human appearance are not blatantly obvious, though it’s not uncommon that people comment on his resemblance to felines. His clothes are light and simplistic to make the process of transformation less troublesome than necessary.

Animal
As an animal, Talbot takes the form of a compact and well-muscled jaguar. His fur is spotted and coppery, with eyes of the same pale tawny colour as his human form. He has powerful legs that allow him to leap great distances and move quickly throughout the world, and strong, sharp incisors that can pierce through hard materials.

Character Concept

For all his bitterness, Talbot is more than meets the eye. It is not inaccurate to assume that he is as impudent as he is impulsive, but unlike most of his Kelvic counterparts, he sometimes exhibits an anomalous amount of intellect. Most are drawn away by his spiteful disposition, but at times he's displayed concern and respect for others. Talbot doesn't think himself above the law, but his moral sense can be quickly misguided when provoked.

Character History

Talbot is a Denvali-born Kelvic, raised by a quaint family who ran a modest business. While growing up, he was often treated inferior to his older brother, whom his parents were far more fond of. Talbot later came to think of him as his adversary and would often grapple with him for attention.

In the end, his father died and the company was bequeathed entirely to his older brother, leaving Talbot penniless. Refusing to work under his brother, Talbot resolved to leave his homeland in search of his true calling.

Interview with Talbot

General Information :
1. What is your Name?
Talbot.
2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name?
No.
3. How old are you?
3 years.
4. What is your height?
About 5'9-5'11.
5. What is your weight?
Around 160-170 lbs.

Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself.
I think I could be nice, y'know? I reckon I could be a good friend. I just get a little angry sometimes...
2. Describe yourself as others typically see you.
I'm not totally self-aware, but the general reaction seems to be someone to avoid.
3. What is your favorite body feature?
You really underestimate the value of opposable thumbs as an animal.
4. How physically fit are you?
I'm no athlete, but I think I fair okay.
5. How do you typically dress and what is your style?
Simplistically, if at all.

Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like?
Where my mother was supportive and nurturing, my father was distant and apathetic. At least he was to me. He treated my brother all right, though.
2. Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Yeah, an older brother. I don't write to him much...I gotta admit, he's one of the reasons I left home. He's the top dog, the one Father appreciated more. That's how I'll always think of him.
3. What is your extended family like?
Dead.
4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family?
5. Do you treat animals like family?
Nope.

Location :
1. Where were you born?
Denval, Kalea.
2. Where do you live now?
I don't live anywhere.
3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be?
I kind of miss Denval. The people were actually pretty nice when they weren't pissed off. It was a little entity unto itself, no other world out there existed, and it was perfect. Or maybe that's just how I remember it.
4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time?
Nope.
5. Where do you fear to be?
Back in Denval, working for my brother.

Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs)?
A couple of scars from carelessness as a boy.
2. Are you right handed or left handed?
Right-handed.
3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent?
My mother tongue is Denvali, my second is Common. I used to know a fair bit of Nari, but most of it is forgotten now.
4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
When I can, I prefer to use actions rather than words to articulate my thoughts. My eyes tend to stray if I lie.
5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercings? Why do you have them (or will get them)?
Not keen on tattoos; admittedly they look too painful to be worthwhile. Piercings, on the other hand, I'd consider.

Occupations :
1. What is your occupation?
Freelance.
2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why?
I don't think about it, it's just routine.
3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be?
Something that doesn't feel like working.
4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why?
Parenthood. It's probably the most important job of all. We all need a guardian in our lives to shape us into worthwhile people.
5. What occupation do you least like? Why?

Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you?
Detrimental and attention-seeking.
2. What is your favorite memory from childhood?
The expression of people's faces whenever I stirred up trouble.
3. What is your worst memory from childhood?
4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents?
With my mother, close. With my father, distant.
5. Who was your most influential rolemodel?
I didn't have one.

Education :
1. What sort of education do you have?
I was expelled for truancy...but it wasn't my fault. If you looked about twelve, would you show up to kindergarten? I doubt it. So, I had to teach myself.
2. Do you like/dislike learning?
I don't have the patience for trivial subjects, but otherwise it doesn't hurt to learn something new.
3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities?
My father left a lot of books lying about the house, so that's how I learned to read and write. The rest I either learned from my brother or on my own.
4. How do you learn best?
I prefer to observe first, then put it into practice. And then practice. And practice. Until I get fed up.
5. What are your educational goals for the future?

Relationships :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not?
Not really. I don't attract very many friends.
2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not?
I've never stayed in one place long enough to familiarise myself with the customs of that particular area, so it's hard to trust people that you can't predict.
3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else?
I think I'm flexible when it comes to sexual orientation and/or activity.
4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time.
No.
5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time.

No.
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific.
I've never tried either myself, but I'd like to. Maybe it would help relax my nerves.

Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies?
2. Do you like to read?
A little. Hard to come by a good book when you're always on the move, though.
3. What annoys you more than anything else?
Being ignored when you're making an effort to draw attention.
4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do?
5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why?

2. What is your favorite time of day?

3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat?
I don't want to think about it. I can't be picky these days.
5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you?
A combination of sunny and moderately breezy.

Outlook :
1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic?
I prefer being called a "realist." No one suffers greater from the truth more than optimists.
2. What are your religious views?
I don't have any.
3. Would you be able to kill?
If pushed, easily.
4. What are your views on sex?
I don't have much experience in that area.
5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life?

Actions :
1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done?
The best thing I've done is left Denval.
2. What is your greatest regret?
3. What is your best/worst memory?
4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why?
5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life?

Emotions :
1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others?
2. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

There's not a lot of things that make me happy. Content is as "happy" as I'll ever be.

At this stage, I don't know.
5. What makes you angry?

Relationships :
1. In general, how do you treat others?
As though they can't be trusted until they prove otherwise.
2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover.
The only two things that equate to my ideals of a partner is reciprocated love and respect.

1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Argue. Although I try not to.
2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Sometimes.

Years of emotional baggage, all out the window.
