Tara walked into the tavern and sat down at a table near the door in case she needed to make an escape. It was starting to get quite busy but it was calming compared to the rush of people outside. There was still an overwhelming amount of scents in here though, but she had gone numb to that a short while after arriving in Syliras. She closed her eyes and opened them, focusing in on who and what was in the room. She liked to know exactly who was in her surroundings, as she didn't like to be taken by surprise. She took a few short sniffs and in a matter of seconds organized and formed a distinction between them.
There was a couple of human males in the far corner... But they were no threat to her at the present. There was a man and a women sitting near the middle of the tavern, having a bottle of wine. They probably hadn't even been alerted to her presence yet. She had come in a quietly as she could, she liked to blend in and not draw attention to herself. There were other people seated in different seats, but she wasn't bothered to sniff through them all. f they were people to be wary of, she would have been alerted to it. The last couple at a table near the fireplace were different though. She stared pointedly at them and took a couple more sniffs. Ah yes. There was a male human, and from the looks of it he was a blacksmith. He was in the company of a female kelvic, and she was probably a feline kelvic. She covered in the scent of cat. Tara wasn't fond of her own species, or at least she didn't like being in the company of other kelvics. She wasn't particularly bothered by humans, though.
The female kelvic had a pretty face and long raven black hair. Though both Tara and the other kelvic had black hair Tara's was a softer, perhaps bluer shade. The kelvic had pale skin and icy blue eyes. Tara quickly tuned into their conversation which she could easily hear from where she was. The kelvic's name was Glaive, it seemed. It was only then that Tara remembered, staring was something most avoided. She quickly busied herself with playing with the flickering candle in front of her. She gently twisted around in circles. A waiter came to her table, and smiled warmly. "What would you like?" he asked her. Tara wasn't too familiar with this kind of thing. She thought back to when she was with humans and told him to get her a glass of the nicest wine they had. She gave him a gold miza and he left her. Tara picked at her sharpened fingernails until the waiter came with a glass of wine. She took it and thanked him. She took a small sip. It wasn't bad but she preferred river water.
