Appearance
-Basics- Zatar Stormcatcher is a tall 26 year old man, coming up to an impressive six foot five inches. He is lean, but his active lifestyle has provided him with a muscular form weighing about 225 pounds. Like all of his race Zatar has shining blue eyes that bear the image of the oceans his life has been bound to since birth. His hair is a midlength tattered mess of dreads, and some beadwork has been incorporated into one of the locks towards the front of his head. Zatar is almost always seen with his hair bound back with a crimson bandana, to represent his dedication to spill the lifeblood of the murderers of his pod.
-Tattoos- Across his right arm and his back he bears the tattoo that symbolizes the Stormcatcher family line, his pod. It depicts a whale who's head stretches across his back swimming away from a giant squid who's tentacles stretch across his entire arm. One the back of his right hand is the eye of the squid staring tirelessly at all Zatar comes before. The meaning of this tattoo is simple and dual. The Stormcatcher pod has been known to follow sperm whale migrations and is represented by the giant squid.
-Scars- Zatar bears a thin scar along his left cheekbone from the day his pod was ambushed on the shores of the jungle wilds. They had been quickly beaten by the superior numbers and fighting prowess of the Myrian warriors. The only thing that saved the life of the manchild was the fact the his uncle had thrown his into the sea as soon as the fray had begun, giving him a chance to flee to one of the smaller family boats in time to escape. However in the swim to safety his face had bumped against a sharp edged coral and had been deeply cut. The wound healed in time, but had left a reminder of that day imbedded in the face of Zatar.
-Jewelry- Zatar bears the prized necklace of his longdead uncle, the man who's quick thinking and action were the only reason that there were any to bear the name of stormcatcher. The necklace bore a tooth from three different sharks. His uncle had said that when he was young that the sharks that had born these teeth had killed his tavan. He hunted them for several weeks, picking them off one by one to prove that nobody left a mark upon his pod and got away with it. The offender would pay a fee equal to his crime. Now whether or not this story was truth, an embellishment of a past hunt, or just a story meant to instill an ethic into his nephew Zatar would never know. But the ethic remained, never let a harm go unpunished. And to an orphaned boy that translated to revenge upon the warriors of Falyandar. |
