Jarart Foamskimmer Basic Information Race: Svefra, Human Birthday & Age: Summer 47, AV 491 (20 years old) Gender: Male Height: 6 ft 4 inches Weight: 210 lbs Languages Language 1: Fratava (Fluent) Language 2: Common (Basic) Language 3: Pavi (Poor) Character Concept Jarart Foamskimmer is a name mostly unknown across the entirety of the Suvan Sea, outside of immediate family circles and a few regular acquaintances or traders whom deal with this young man. Ultimately this is what Jarart seeks to change, to mould himself into something known across the seas, whose name might be spoken of with awe and respect – perhaps a tinge of fear. The fearlessness of youth burns deeply within his chest, the fires of un-tempered ambition courses through his veins, along with the salt that ties him to the sea upon which he lives. A simple fisherman by trade, he yearns to be something more, a larger character in a world where currents and reputations can shift as much as the sun may rise and fall. Courageous yet foolhardy, intelligent yet rash – this mass of contradictions seeks to not only survive, but thrive. Sly to a fault he will take advantage of whatever he can grab his hands on – outside of harming the Svefra themselves, as his family – in order to further his goals. Only time may see where this small piece of flotsam will become wedged in palce, or whether on top of him may be built anything of import. And perhaps, only the gods themselves may end up remembering – if that is his destiny. Physical Description Jarart is a young man, 20 years of age, and so time has not yet began to make its mark upon his features. No scars cross his skin, nor tattoo’s entwine across his body to show events of import of commemorate a life filled with exciting occurrences. No, he is a blank canvas, in a very real sense. He wears his hair longer than most men of Mizahar, to shoulder length, but not as long as many of the Svefra do – a matter of personal preference for him to stop it interrupting in his day to day activities. He maintains the racial characteristic of deep, sea-blue eyes however, the chief sign of his Svefra lineage. His hair resembles a cross between a tawny and a dark mahogany brown in color, and can always be seen in a rough, disheveled state – Jarart not having much time for personal grooming, busy eking out his existence as he is. His body, too, is blank slate, though a highly athletic and muscular one indeed. A life of heaving fish onto the deck, setting out and shifting in nets and manning the helm and sails of a ship being a great catalyst for building up a highly muscular frame – and his lean diet keeping him very much free of excess fat. He is very physically fit and able of lifting very heavy loads with ease that might give others pause and much effort. At 6 foot 4 inches he is quite tall for a Svefra and tends to tower over most of his kind, and many of the other humans he has met in his travels. His hands, like the hands of all Svefra, are rough and calloused from the grating of ropes and various other menial tasks leaving their marks upon the folded skin there, and as such even when those whom meet him for the first time may not know him as a sailor – a firm shake of his hand leaves them little in doubt of his hard-working lifestyle. (To Be Updated Soon!!) Gnosis Marks
1x Gnosis Mark - Laviku (1st) Tavan Maralus, a cormorant that Jarart was given upon his journey into solitude by his father, is as close to a friend as Jarart has. Spending most of his time away from other people, fishing and cutting an existence from the Suvan, Maralus keeps Jarart's spirits as high as one could expect. A fierce friend, Maralus has been known to attack those whom have threatened Jarart in the past - though usually this amounts to no more than a few pecks and angered flapping of the wings. However, Jarart is grateful for such loyalty to be shown towards his person. Highly mischievous as Cormorant's go, Maralus enjoys annoying Jarart at times, absently flicking caught fish back into the sea, eating his catches and generally making a nuisance of himself. Still, it is no more than an affectionate cry for attention at most, though at times Maralus has flown off for a day or two to show his displeasure. He is never gone for long, however. Jarart finds himself wondering if Maralus could be said to have his own consciousness, in a profoundly human sense, but has never truly been able to decide. He knows that Maralus is highly intelligent, and has even been able to train him to fish for him, by use of an old art form he garnered from a small coastal settlement a year after he set out on his own - Maralus upon his arm.
