Amaya is a young Vantha belonging to the Whitevine hold. As a Vantha, she has black hair highlighted by orange-red (and occaisionally midnight blue) and eyes that shift colours as her emotions do. Most often, Amaya's eyes will be red. Red is the colour that shows happiness for her and therefore, Amaya is happy a large amount of time. Her skin is toned with a gentle natural tan and her features are delicate and even. Over all, Amaya is lovely. Even with the few piercings she possesses (her earlobes and her lip), Amaya can be seen as a truly stunning young Healer.

Long, slender fingers dip from Amaya's hands. They are nimble and make it easier for Amaya to do work on much smaller things than usual. She is dextrous with her hands. Amaya likes to wear dark clothes under a heavy cloak lined with fur. She tends to wear smiles often and to show her happiness whenever she meets a new person.

Concealed behind Amaya's shimmering black hair is a swirling symbol she'd been born with. It shimmers a pure opal colour and is the mark of Rak'keli, which makes Amaya very useful when around the sick or injured.

Amaya's eye colours and what they mean are:

Maroon - Excited
Fuschia - Amused
Red - Happy
Orange - Curious
Yellow - Sad
Green - Hurt
Electric Blue - Angry
Purple - Frustrated
Indigo - Hatred

Personality

As the youngest daughter to a Whitevine Healer with several siblings and assorted cousins, Amaya is an outgoing young woman with a habit for exxageration to the fullest. She is easy to get along with on most days and enjoys any and all companionship she recieves.

Amaya is insecure, however, in her own position in life. She seeks out attention and does what she can to recieve it even if it gives her a questionable reputation as a habitual prankster. She seeks recognition among her family and among her race as a whole.

Despite all this, Amaya is fiercely loyal to all she considers friends and to her family and Goddesses. She is faithful to Morwen and Rak'keli and the preservation of life and Avanthal as a whole. Amaya is not one to be expected to betray anyone she shows respect for.

History

Amaya was born to a Healer of the Whitevine Hold and a woman of the Skyglow Hold on the Winter Solstice of 495 AV. Her birth was a difficult one and her mother passed away after naming her Amaya.

Amaya grew up as the youngest daughter in a family of two other daughters and twin sons. She felt left out of their fun and their secrets and so developed a love of attention that would require her to prank others, compete rougher and develop improbable goals to gain recognition.

Her mark from Rak'keli, having been provided at birth, helped Amaya gain recognition for her Healing abilities. She took to medicine and herbalism to further her accomplishments and began to self-train herself in the use of her two kama. As a gift for her twelveth birthday, Amaya's father gave her his Healer's Kit in the hopes that she would use it and remember him fondly when he passed away.

Prior to her father's untimely death, Amaya had lived a life of hope and laughter fraught with teasing from her older siblings for her own teasing nature. The pain of the pasing of her father shocked her enough to birth the desire to change and to be able to heal even the most greivous of injuries. She found herself consulting an older aunt in the hopes of learning the manipulation of magic so she could see when a person was dying or ill. Her aunt felt that what Amaya desired was the ability to see auras and so she began to teach Amaya how to read another's emotions.

However, in Avanthal among the Vantha, Auristics proved nearly worthless for the eyes of the Vantha spoke enough of their emotions for Amaya to understand. Instead, she began to read the emotions of the animals cared for by the Frostfawn Vantha. She began to associate the colours of their emotions with the way her eyes changed colours and used this knowledge to find out how to identify the emotions of her fellow Vantha.

Despite her previous changes, Amaya dropped right back into playing with others and trying to give them a fright or a good reason to laugh so she can identify easier what they feel. She has few friends for this but every friend she makes she will cherish forever gladly for their acceptance of her dual-natured response to others.

Now, as her sixteenth birthday approaches and she doesn't have a suitor, Amaya denies all feelings of sadness that lingers in her soul and tints her aura and eyes orange.

She desires still to have children and to bring back memories of her father as he was.

Character Concept

The greatest goal that Amaya desires the most to succeed is to become the greatest Healer in Avanthal. She wishes to one day lead her Hold and bring more visitors to the Goddess of Winter. Her second goal is to become a member of the Icewatch, which would ensure her a place in the world for her to belong to.

Amaya's religious devotion belongs to only two Goddesses: Morwen and Rak'keli. She believes she owes her life to them and so she prays to them both in the Everwinter Temple daily. Her devotion is complete and unwavering.

Amaya dreams of having children to remember her beloved father by. She dreams of making her family and her Goddess proud and becoming a beloved figure in the lives of the man she hopes to one day marry and their (hopefully) many children.
