A Feathery New Friend (Nowa)

[Iliana]

Iliana blinked in surprise at the ravens strange response. With a light giggle she waved her hands and looked up at Nowa with a smile, "Oh you do not have to worry! I would never cage such a beautiful and majestic creature such as yourself!" With almost dance like steps Iliana drew closer to Nowa once more, looking up at him on his new perch, "It would be far to tragic to trap and cage such a free and intelligent creature such as yourself." She waved a hand to indicate the ravens glossy feathers, "Why, you are such an exceptional bird you look as if Caiyha blessed you herself." All the while she was speaking, Iliana made her expressions and movements as less threatening as possible. For a moment she thought to use a bit of hypnosis to calm the birds agitations, but from what she could tell the raven had an unusual knack for seeing through her abilities. Thus she decided it would be best to shower him with compliments instead, in hopes of alleviating some of his misgivings toward her.

[Nowa]

Nowa ruffled his feathers once more, and watched her almost dance around as she spoke back. She got closer, but only a little. She didn't try anything... yet. He had to be careful, she was still tricky. All the same, she spoke something Nowa could agree on, for what he knew. "I know! Cages are evil!" She did say something odd, though. "Wha' is bless, an' Caiyha? Ex-se-p-tion-al... 'oo!" He readied for flight again, if she moved right then, he might not have been ready. OOCGood plan, almost worked. If Nowa hadn't met Miro first, you'd probably be friends already.

[Iliana]

Iliana was stumped for a moment. How does one explain what it is to be blessed and the concept of a deity to a bird. Frowning silently, Iliana looked away for a moment, then her eyes brightened and she smiled up at Nowa once more, "Caiyha is a goddess, the goddess of flora and fauna alike. In other words, she is like a raven who has built a nest. Once a nest is built the raven must then watch after the nest so that evil snake do not steal her eggs. Iliana indicated to Nowa himself, "And you, my beautifully feathered friend, are like one of her eggs which she looks after and protects." Iliana absently pulled at a strand of hair as she continued speaking, "To be blessed by Caiyha is like saying she takes special care to keep you from harms way, and you become blessed by pleasing the goddess with your actions or, in your case, a wonderfully beautiful set of feathers." She said this last part with a little wink, her eyes still possessed slitted pupils and flecks of gold in the iris.

[Nowa]

The description itself was... very odd. Like a mother, watching over an egg? Nowa was an egg? He sat there puzzling a minute, he even put a few together... but realized he was missing pieces. "So, God-ess, flora, and fauna next!" Once he had his puzzle done, he thought of a test for the tricky person. Only once did she try using her tricks at him, and no physical container had formed... it just vanished away without him. She didn't seam all that mean, so once his puzzle was done... he would think up some questions to test her aura. Maybe she was a nice tricky person.

[Iliana]

A smile broke on her lips as Iliana was baffled by the Raven's sudden turn of thoughts. She laughed and took a step back, folding her hands behind her back and leaning forward, "I am afraid I do not understand, but if you are asking after the goddess I am afraid I know very little about her." With a twirl, Iliana raised her hands in the air, "I myself am a devoted follower of Maktusi, the goddess of rain and oases!" Laughing she stepped closer once more, "So I am afraid I cannot answer many questions about Caiyha." Blinking slowly Iliana released her morphing and her eyes returned to normal once more.

[Nowa]

"No, no! Words, wha' is flora, fauna, oases, and god-ess! Words I do no' know. That new one as well! Nak-'u-si is a god-ess, 'oo?" He got another puzzle piece, but it wasn't enough in itself. Well, it gave him more time to figure out his other questions anyway. She had some unique mannerisms among the people he had met, was she always so active? Better then not doing anything. Her eyes changed once more.

[Iliana]

Lauging, Iliana held up her hands to forgo the tide of questions, "Ok ok, now let me see..." She tapped her chin a moment in thought, "Well... Flora is like flowers and plants, and Fauna is like animals like dear and cute ravens, she winked at Nowa. Looking up she continued, [color=white]"An Oasis is a big pool of water where lots of things live, and yes Makutis is another goddess. She is the goddess of rain and Oasis and water in general. Her influence can be seen all across the contenant, and every living creature has to pay her respect for the gift of life she brings with every downpour." Iliana smiled up at Nowa, "Does that help answer your questions?"

[Nowa]

Two new words for things he already knew, plants and animals... and a new one. He liked the new words, but wondered if everyone knew them. All the same, not an entire puzzle. He figured out the goddess word was attached to things that had names, but the names themselves were attached to such strange things. Were they creatures? Or maybe groups of creatures? She made it sound like each name was a single one, though. No creature he'd seen is as vast as the ones she describes. "I do no' 'ay anyone 'or re-sec'! Do crows 'ay? No, nor do cows. Fauna live as fauna, no' more!" He gauged her reaction, no need to start an argument here, he had something important to ask. "Do you know 'ee-ah-der'? Tee, ah, ter. Theater?" He continued his scan, it would be hard to tell if she said 'no,' but he was expecting a yes.

[Iliana]

Um... I am not sure... what hes... Iliana scrunched up her eyes and tried to make sense of the Raven's strange use of common. Scratching her head she said, "Im sorry but... I don't under stand what you are asking." Iliana frowned in concentration, [color=white]"Do I know... Theater?" She laughed and shrugged, "I do not know of anyone named Theater, but if you are talking about the place where the greater performance go to show their talent then I know of that place."

[Nowa]

That, sounded strangely like a no. Did she understand? Everyone here should know one word at least. "As an, art. Art, of, theater. Do you know, theater, art?" He thought of how to further convey the idea. "Like your dance, an art. I wan' you 'o do, theater, as an, art! Show ne a new side o' you." Surely that would work, she described her words in a similar way. OOCAt least the strange bird isn't asking you on a date. XD Sorry for the shortened posts.
