Another man with only a juvenile knowledge of Ghosts. Not that Auldwin could blame him. What did Auldwin know of Ghosts before he, himself died? He couldn't remember anything in particular, besides the fact that Ghosts tended to stick to a particular place and 'haunt' it. How stereotypical. Of course when he thought of just how often he stayed around the Endrykas there was no other way to look at himself besides as a hypocrite. Just like a Ghost in a storybook, he had become the haunter of the Endrykas. How did that even happen? How did Auldwin allow that to happen? Inwardly he had to sigh at the way he portrayed Ghosts. He would have thought he could break outside of the Ghostly mold a little bit. When you were a Ghost, not everything was as simple as 'be whatever you want to be', the types of positive speeches mothers gave their children. When you were a Ghost...you were basically screwed. Your life was essentially forfeit, and at a moments weakness what was left of your existence could be wiped from the world.
"Touch? Touch is easy." Auldwin began to explain. Any good explanation would be benefited from a visual demonstration, of which he would provide in due time. "Not vapor. Soulmist. As in...Soul. Very potent thing, Soulmist. Can touch, can hold, can do all those things. Have no physical body, doesn't mean can't touch." he continued holding up his right hand. Indeed the hand itself was a bit blurred and misshapen. It would shift slightly before Bolden's vision, as if Auldwin had difficulty maintaining it's constant nature. Then, moving slowly he simple jabbed a finger forward into Bolden's shoulder. There was pressure, real physical pressure. It was cold as well, and a bit unnatural, but the material that Bolden wore flexed from the touch, as did the skin beneath. His shoulder even swayed backward slightly. He had been touched, it wasn't just a sensation, it was a true movement of his own material body. "Just like that. No problem, see?" he said as he did it again, just for emphasis. Even if Bolden backed away he would be surprised to see that Auldwin's touch wasn't constrained by his Materialized body, it actually reached much further than appeared visually possible. That was due to his Soulmist's...elasticity for lack of a better word.
The night had taken something of an unusual turn. Now this man had a look of desperation in his eyes. Auldwin knew all about desperation. Desperation was that feeling right before you die that maybe there's something you can do to live on. Anything. Of course it didn't get to last very long before Auldwin was in pieces and subsequently no longer Human. Auldwin's existence was supposed to be there to help himself, not to help everyone else. Still, Auldwin wasn't the type of guy in life to just turn away from another man's desperation. "Mother? Is possible, if mother became a Ghost. What was mother's name, what she look like?" he asked.
The first obstacle to Auldwin was believing that after all this time, if his mother was indeed a Ghost, she would have contacted him. In his own situation though he had roamed the world as a Ghost for some five years, and he hadn't made any effort at all to contact any of his old family. It was just too awkward, especially if he found his wife with someone else. How would that make him feel? His emotional state was already too difficult to control completely, and finding something like that could do more harm than good. No, he wasn't ready to contact those he knew in life, not yet.
The second obstacle was that dealing with Ghosts was best done by someone who had abilities in Spiritism. Sure Auldwin could find Ghosts, after all he knew how they lived and where most of them went, for the most part. Summoning them even from places beside the normal realm he and Bolden currently inhabited was a different matter. At the very least though, Auldwin believed he could determine if she had become a Ghost, or if she had simply passed on to the cycle. Something suddenly struck Auldwin's mind though, how could this have happened. "Wait...how no one know your mother? Father didn't know mother? Endrykas didn't know mother?" She was a Drykas, wasn't she? Not like Auldwin knew everything about the lifestyle of the Endrykas, but for the most part the Drykas seemed like quite the close nit community.
