Eachann worked meticulously to check that all was as safe as could be on the plains. Webbing wasn't something to play around with and he knew both Kavala and Bolden would need to concentrate. The problem with webbing is that mental concentration needed to be a hundred percent, which left the body vulnerable and open to attack while it went untended.
Although his daughter was twenty three, her race made her similar age wise, to the ten year old Bolden. However her maturity was light years beyond the boy and he knew that he needed her steadying presence. It wasn't standard practice to teach webbing to a younger son, but the boy didn't know that Eachann was filling in for Vanator, Bold's father. Van should be teaching him, but he was too young for that role just yet.
The pack of dogs he'd brought along kept patrolling the area to keep the trio safe during the lesson. They had finished a good lunch so the boy should be relaxed enough to learn webbing. He had his doubts about the boy, knowing he wasn't the brightest dye on the market. Even though Kavala was just a female, the Ankal was sure she'd learn webbing a lot faster and easier than his grandson.
He told them to stay still while he checked the area with a measured pace, on the look out for even the slightest threat.
Bold looked up at Kavala with a good-natured grin, his amber eyes looking to her for an explanation. The boy whispered up at Kav, the adored older sister.
"Kav did he tell you why we're here? I've never had such a big lunch with father before, have you?" He rubbed his stomach happily at the meal and watched the dogs with a wary eye. The boy had never liked or trusted dogs much and these huge lean animals were no comfort.
"Where's Vanator? Why isn't he here with us?"
He looked over at the young Konti with big amber eyes as he asked his endless questions. If anyone would know, she would. He had complete and total faith in his big sister.
A few chimes later, Eachann gestured for them to find a comfortable seat and emphasized the importance. There was no way for him to know how long they would take and stamina would definitely become an issue. Hopefully all would go well, despite the boy's lack of scholarly aptitude. More to the point, would his daughter be the calming influence his grandson so desperately needed?
