Kiou tore his gaze from the sky once more, turning back to Almech who had now resumed his human appearance, as well as his clothes. When Almech stated that he didn't know exactly what a lion was, he couldn't blame him. Lions like himself, especially kelvic lions, were quite uncommon nowadays, or so he had heard. He found that most people were surprised when they found out he was a lion, though for different reasons usually. When Almech stated that he had forgotten the sunset, felt almost the same sadness as the dog. He enjoyed watching sunsets, as it reminded him of the few good times of his childhood when he'd watched them. He wasn't emotional enough about it to shed tears however. In fact, he didn't quite know when the last time he had shed tears actually was. Perhaps he just wasn't all that emotional about stuff nowadays. When Almech stated that it was too early for him, Kiou gave a slight nod. He had no qualms with staying out after dark. He sometimes enjoyed it, in fact. The only problem he had with staying out this particular night was that he had been awake for nearly 36 hours or so. He enjoyed his sleeping time, even though he thought it a waste of precious time. Kiou glanced at Blaze when Almech commented that he had yet to hunt today, and wasn't surprised as he saw her tense up slightly at the words. He figured it was habitual. She was, of course, a herbivore, accompanied by two predators, one of which just stated it's hunger. Kiou had to agree however as he looked away once more. Before he could stop it, he felt his own stomach growling greedily at the thought of fresh meat. Somewhat embarrassed, Kiou glanced back at Blaze as she announced her departure. Returning her smile as she wandered off, he realized that he would miss her. He was beginning to like these two fellow kelvics. "Perhaps our paths will cross again. Until then, goodbye, and keep safe," he called after her, adding a friendly wave for effect. Looking back to Almech, he gave a small shrug. He figured that he'd be parting ways with him soon, so he figured why not give him a little lesson beforehand. "About that whole deal with what a lion is..." Stripping off his shirt and dropping his pants in nearly the blink of an eye, he shifted. A few seconds later, in his place stood a large golden lion, gazing calmly at the dog. And now, you will know a lion when you next see one, if you ever have the fortune to again, he thought, amused, as he sat back casually on his haunches, wrapping his tail around his front paws. The cold cobblestones beneath his sensitive pads felt odd, alien even. It felt unnatural to him, seeing as he tended to avoid traipsing around a city as a lion. He figured he would get a good number of strange looks. Probably an unwelcome reception in most towns. He let out in involuntary yawn, which came out sounding more like a lazy roar. Getting slowly to his feet, we put his front paws out ahead of him and stretched for a long moment before standing up straight and letting out a contented growl. In this form he reached about 4ft at the shoulder, and a tad over 8ft long, weighing in at nearly 500lbs. He bent down and gingerly picked up his discarded clothing, careful not to bite too hard in fear of tearing it. These were virtually the only clothes he had. He turned and looked at Almech once more, flashing what appeared to be a smile, though seeing as it's kind of hard for a cat to smile, it probably seemed more like a snarl. Nodding his head once in Almech's direction, he turned and headed off down the street, the opposite way Blaze had gone, flicking his tail slightly in farewell. He found that he had indeed enjoyed this little chance meeting, and figured he might have made a couple friends in the process, which made him even more excited for the future. Who knew what it would bring. {{Exit}} |
