Kashia (Galina) (kosh-ya) General Race: Human (Inarta) Birthday & Age : AV 492, 19 years old Gender: Female Height: 5'0 Weight: 100 lbs Profession: Wind Eagle Rider Phsyical Description Coppery red hair, just past shoulder length, usually falling in big soft curls. Icy blue, deamy eyes. Very pale, milky skin. Extremely petite. Appears frail, but the fire in her eyes makes you second guess her power. Muscular thighs from gripping her mount's back. Slightly fuller bottom lip which gives the impression of an eternal pout. Compact and full of energy, her movements are fluid and swift. She wears the traditional bryda pants of her people in deep rusted orange color. On her torso a bra-top made of brown leather straps with metal studs. Her shoes are strappy brown leather sandals. She wears the traditional painted feathers of the Inarta in her hair. These are feathers from her own Eagle, Galina, and are painted with the images of magpies sitting in blossoming tree branches. Character Concept Kashia's artist eye lends to a flair for the dramatic. Her attitude concerning tasks laid before her is to complete them as grandiosely as possible, or not at all. Galina as of yet is her closest, albeit singular, friend. She does thoroughly enjoy her stature as an Eagle Rider and displays her power in the face of the lower classes of Wind Reach. She is not cruel, but this is the way things are for the Inarta. When not riding to provide for the city, Kashia enjoys painting and writing poetry. These are her secret hobbies which she doesn't share with anyone, afraid of criticism, which she also doesn't handle very well. She can be self-conscious and feels that her position as an Eagle Rider is precarious at best, hence her struggle to continuously exceed expectations. Her small stature doesn't stop her from getting what she wants. She is extremely talented at lying and persuading people to agree with her or do her bidding, and feels no guilt in doing so. Unsure of her own sexuality, she enjoys attention from both sexes. Race has no bearing on this. She frequently hangs out at Thunder Bay in her free time, hoping to meet travellers and snag bits of information from outside of the Reach, dreaming of a life in a far off land. Character History Kashia's mother was a Dek, mostly blind and thus useless to the Inarta people. She was forced into a sexual relationship by one of the prominent glass blowers of the time. He quickly discarded her when she became pregnant. Luckily Kashia was born with no maladies and quickly joined the Yasi nursery. As is customary, at the age of 8 she was allowed to roam freely in Wind Reach and search for an apprenticeship. Due to Kashia's sharp tongue and charming ways, she found her way into many businesses in the Reach. She tried her hand at numerous different crafts: painting, glass blowing, cooking, falconry, etc, etc. Her heart is in the arts, leaning towards glass blowing. She loved the the blazing fires and the delicacy with which she had to treat her work. Nearly convinced of her destiny, this came crashing down when she met Galina. Accompanying a motley crew of her fellow Yasi from the community day care, Kashia wandered aimlessly through the Reach partaking in the usualy mischief making of the youth. At this point she was just over 10 years old. Following the rag-tag group of mostly young boys, the group somehow made their way to the cliffs where the Eagles lived. In the center of a brambly circle of branches, leaves, and down, a fuzzy bundle of downy white feathers and two huge black eyes peered up at her when she poked her head over the edge. It was love at first sight. Introductions were quickly exchanged between the two, but when the large mother Eagle was spotted flying back in the direction of her nest, her talons ferociously drawn, the group of youth scattered. Running back towards the city of Wind Reach, the image of the enormous black eyes of Galina seared into her mind, Kashia vowed to return the next day and every day after. The two quickly bonded, Kashia abandoning all thoughts of glass working and focusing the dedication of the rest of her life on Eagle Riding. Kashia is now 19 and remains mostly friendless. Mistrust taints her impression of everyone she meets, probably largely due to her own lack of trustworthiness. Galina is the only creature living with whom Kashia shares an honestly mutually trusting relationship, mostly due to the fact of their telepathy, which would make lying futile anyways. Family Removed from her mother's breast almost instantly from birth, and fathered by a man uninterested in her fate, Kashia's family is completely unknown to her. She only considers the Inarta to be one large family to her. Galina is, of course, like her only sister.
