27th of Winter 511
For the third time that day, Nisuness had found herself completely lost and in the middle of nowhere. The changing streets of the city had dumbfounded and confused her since she arrived and now it was getting to be annoying. She was tempted to take to the docks she’d seen not long ago and just, but at this point she doubted she would even be able to find her way back to them. She had been walking down here because she thought she’d seen the inn she had been staying at down here, but it had moved or she was seeing things. She sighed and looked around, wondering if she had the ability to turn around and leave to where she came from. She could, but nothing there was particularly interesting.
Her mouth was in a thin line as she moved forward, going into another street and choosing a random direction to go. It seemed like every time she was starting to get somewhere, the streets would rearrange themselves and she’d be in the middle of nowhere again. She looked forward, wishing she could at least find something to do if she couldn’t go back to the inn. She walked aimlessly for a few minutes while looking around her. Nothing here she recognized. She sighed and sat down against a building, watching as people and animals alike passed by her, walking like they knew exactly where they were going.
How? She wondered as she watched. Were they taught how by somebody or was it just instinct for people who’ve been here for a while? She surely wasn’t the only person who was lost here. It was too confusing for there not to be more people wandering.
Constantly jerking her legs back to prevent them from getting stepped on or tripped over was getting annoying. She stood up, looking around and wondering where to go next. The idea of wandering and not finding the inn was enough to make her feet feel like bricks. She backed against the building and leaned against it, looking out at the street and trying to figure out the city she was in.
