Miharu Mindi Winter's Scorn Screaming in the dark, I howl when we're apart Drag my teeth across your chest to taste your beating heart My fingers claw your skin, try to tear my way in You are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to howl ~florence + the machine Basic Information Race: Kelvic Birthday & Age: 91st of Spring, 508 AV. 2 years old. Gender: Female Physical Description When in her human form, Miharu is nigh-indistinguishable from true humans. She is a bit taller than most at 5'11", but she is slender and compact, though broad-shouldered, slim in the hips with powerful legs. She's blond-haired (though she has a strange charcoal streak through her bangs) and pale-skinned, with a narrow face and delicate features. Her eyes, however, give her away - huge golden orbs with far too much cunning within them, the eyes of a skilled predator. Her shift reveals a huge wolf, three feet high in the shoulder, born and bred to be a master killer. Her fur is mostly silver, though the same dark streak that showed in her bangs now darkens the ridge of fur along her spine and tips her ears. Character Concept Miharu is not a social creature, despite the instincts of the wolf within her. She spurns the company of others, rude and bitter towards them, and often reacts violently when challenged about her attitude. She is her own Alpha, and will brook no competition for the title. Even so, she is not cruel, and doesn't go out of her way to antagonize anyone. It's just that, you know, if she's drinking alone in a bar and some jackass comes up to tell her how pretty she'd look underneath him, she's like to scatter the floor with his teeth before she turns back to her drink. Character History Miharu was not always such a bitch. She was actually a very sweet child, her parents both Kelvic as well. Her father, Jakob, was a huntsman for the scattered families that lived just outside of Avanthal. He was a snow leopard, a careful and precise hunter who brought many riches in meat and furs to his Master, Lliani. He'd sired Miharu on another Kelvic at Lliani's request, who wished to keep some part of Jakob with her after he passed on. He'd happily complied, and when the other shifter dropped off little Miharu, she was welcomed into Lliani's family with great joy. She grew quickly, as all Kelvic were wont to do, and spent her first year year of life stalking the woods at her father's side, learning his ways. Just before her first birthday, on the cusp of womanhood, her father was killed by a rabid bear. This devastated not only Miharu but Lliani as well. Though Miharu served her faithfully, doing anything she could to cheer her heart-broken master, Lliani never recovered from her grief - only realizing after his death that she'd loved Jakob deeply. Just as spring changed to summer in 509 AV, Lliani took her own life. Miharu took her death very hard. She convinced herself that it was a fault within her, that she was incapable of serving a Master well enough to please her, unable to inspire the love that was required in such a bond. It didn't help that Lliani's family blamed her as well, turning her out with harsh words of how unfit she'd been, and those words of her own inadequacy followed her into the forests of Taldera. She has spent her days ever since in bitter solitude, scorning anyone who would even try to get close to her. It is a constant battle for her, for she still yearns to find someone she can bond with, struggles with herself every time she sees someone weak being taken advantage of, longs to champion them and redeem herself but afraid of what rejection and failure could mean. She considered taking her own life, but even that seemed too easy - death was simply not enough punishment for her failure. So she lives on, filling her days with the thrill of the hunt, telling herself that perhaps the next prey will finally end her suffering. It is not the prey she seeks but her own death, and though some kernel of hope survives within her caged heart, she has spent most of her life ignoring it so vehemently that she has nearly convinced herself of her own worthlessness. She spent two seasons spanning the wildlands of Taldera and bringing down the massive creatures that live in the Northern Reaches. Boredom encroached upon her solitary world, though, the familiar creatures presenting no challenges, and so she decided to travel the world in search of new prey. She traveled the length and breadth of Mizahar in search of something she could not put a name to - and found it in Siiri of the Snapping Jaws Clan. The two have become bondmates, and though Miharu had always imagined that finding a bondmate would be the hardest thing in her life, she'd quickly learning that it's even harder to be bonded to a Myrian warrior. The people of Taloba are suspicious and unaccepting, and she is having a hard time adjusting to this new environment; even so, she will not stop trying, determined to prove herself and carve out a life at Siiri's side. |
