Timestamp: Winter 44, 511 AV Time: Midday Location: The Sculpture Yard Who: Nica Krivak was in a strangely giddy mood. But for good reason. Several Chimes Earlier Krivak had just stepped out of his stall, and was looking to leave. He glanced up the hall and his eyes fell on the one called Richard. The two of them had never really gotten along. Richard was passing out single sweet cubes to the horses at the far end. Krivak loved the sweet cubes. And he wanted some, but knew that whenever Richard made it to his stall, he always ran out. Jerk. So Krivak made out a simple plan. He was going to take the sweet cubes. He couldn't hurt the man, despite his desire to, but sneaking up was just as disgraceful. He grunted as he knew what he had to do. He walked up to Richard, as if nothing were amiss. When Richard saw him, he stood up straight and put the bag of sweet cubes onto his belt. He mooed softly at Richard, trying to lure him into a false sense of friendship. Richard looked down at him suspiciously, but then his expression softened. He patted Krivak on the head, "Finally coming around to me big guy?" Krivak mooed some more, then kicked Richard in the shin like he would an insolent female during mating season. Richard doubled over in pain and cried out. And while he was distracted, Krivak plucked the bag of sweet cubes from his belt and walked out of the stable. As soon as he was around the corner, he dug into the bags and gobbled up all of the sweet, delectable cubes. He let them melt in his mouth then swallowed it all down. Back in the present Krivak was standing in the Sculpture Yard, staring up at a stone carving of a bear. The bear had it's paw extended outward, as if it were pointing the way home. Krivak wondered why no one ever carved a statue of a yak. After all, they were the mightiest creature in all of Mizahar. If that bear could do it, he could too. He got up next to the giant bear and slowly lifted his foreleg up, higher than he ever had before. He struggled to maintain his balance on the three remaining legs. After he got his hoof up to a satisfying height, his balance gave out and he fell over sideways in the snow. He laid there and sighed. This could only be more humiliating if anyone saw him. |
