Zygaud Magic Monkey Basic Information Race: Jamoura Birthday & Age : Ninth day of Fall, 309 AV (204 Years Old) Gender: Male Languages Language 1: Jamourian Language 2: Common Language 3: None Zygaud's Description Height: 8'9" Weight: 668lbs Standing a decent bit taller than the majority of male Jamoura, Zygaud is an imposing figure that exudes a quiet confidence. Eyes of deep emerald flecked with hazel constantly observe all that goes on around this titantic being, rarely missing a detail. His fur is ruddy black in most places, with a patch of copper hue spanning the length of his broad back up to the top of his head. He can often be seen wearing a massive cloak of deep black material that conceals his gargantuan form almost entirely. Finally, his most impressive feature would be his long teeth, a mighty testament to the bestial past of his kind. Zygaud's Concept Ever-curious, Zygaud is often in pursuit of knowledge. When not studying or seeking the means to acquire more information on the subjects which pique his interest, he tends to be more social than most Jamoura. Learning more about those he meets is one of the things he most enjoys, and making friends among those who are open-minded comes easily to him. He particularly enjoys imparting what little knowledge he has gained in his short life to those who have earned his trust and friendship. Zygaud is still very young, and has not lost the spirit for adventure. Though peaceful by nature, he isn't above having a friendly match with a willing ally. He tends to feel that honing his martial prowess is a beneficial thing, having already been under assault multiple times in his short journey outside of The Spires. This has garnered him some disfavor from the older generations of Jamoura who he sees as rather lazy. To Zygaud, combative prowess is just another one of the many things he will learn and master before his incredibly long life is brought to an end. Zygaud's History Born in the Fall of 309 AV, Zygaud's life began slowly. He was a very active infant, often trying to crawl out of the arms of those who cradled him. More concerned with absorbing every piece of data that he possibly could than crying or resting. His small family lived on the outskirts of The Spires and they spent most of their time trying to teach their child the ways of life. Zygaud's father was an accomplished Jamoura user of magic who specialized in Shielding and the Flux, he had seen many travels . His mother was one of the few Jamourian warriors, driven to such a life due to hatred against those who had caused her kind such pain in the past. Unfortunately, Zygaud never got to know much of his mother as she was crushed under a tree in a freak accident when he was but twenty-two years old and still essentially a toddler to the Jamoura. After the death of his mother, Zygaud's life was rather sheltered. His father kept a close eye on his one and only progeny, often telling Zygaud tales of his mother's courage and wisdom. Zygaud's father took great pleasure in trying to teach his young son the principles of magic, hoping that one day his son would be an even better Mage than himself. When not under the watchful eye of his father, Zygaud enjoyed playing and wrestling with the few other Jamoura around his age. He was always large for his age, and he used this to his advantage when playing games such as King of the Tree. His father often did not condone Zygaud's love of physical competition, which he had obviously inherited from his mother, but that didn't stop him from sneaking off to wrestle with his agemates. This was a simple time in the long life of Zygaud, full of the joy and the excitement of youth. Upon the day that Zygaud turned 68 years old, his father deemed him ready to begin properly learning the magic of Shielding. As it turned out, Zygaud had a talent for it, weaving his first shield only two short years after his teachings began. For the next decade, Zygaud studied Shielding under the careful tutelage of his father, and it was a slow but steady process. When not studying, Zygaud continued to sneak off and play with his agemates, telling them tales that his father had told him and bragging about his minor magical prowess. His love for physical competition never diminished, and by this time he was well-known for being the strongest Jamoura in his age group. He was very proud of his strength, but never abused it. His father had warned him about violence, and tales of what his mother had been through chilled him to the bone and kept him sober. Finally, Zygaud was 100 years old and it was judged that he was ready to begin assisting in construction. It was around this time that Zygaud's father decided to start teaching him the Flux, as it would greatly assist in his son's newly-granted duties. Having already learned some things about magic from his father, and being a novice Shield Mage, the Flux came rather easily to him. He was not without a few accidents, but it wasn't much more than accidentally fracturing a bone whilst practicing the Flux. For the next century he studied harder than ever when he wasn't busy helping out the small community with construction and other tasks requiring manual labor. The day that Zygaud was told he was ready to leave home and begin gather wisdom from the outside world was a happy one for him. He was 200 years old now, and already nearing the completion of his physical growth. Zygaud's father had taught him all that he could of magic and survival. His agemates had mostly already begun their own adventures, and so he had felt ready for the last few years. There was a gathering among his friends and family, and they sent him off to become the best that he could be. Zygaud looked back at The Spires as he traveled alone into the unknown, unsure of what awaited him. For the next four years Zygaud wandered the land, learning how to fend for himself. He mostly stayed away from large settlements, but had come to meet a few creatures of non-Jamourian blood that were worthy of being called allies. This is not to say that he had not met people that made him feel the opposite, not at all. He had been under assault multiple times in the last four years of his travels, quickly learning how to brawl and when to run. He was generally a passive creature, but the fearful and ignorant had lashed out at him a few times. Finally making the decision to visit a largely populated area, he has set out to try his luck in the cities of Mizahar.
