[Unlike Mihai, who was an apex predator, Naar didn’t have jaws that could crush the skull of a dead animal so he needed to utilize a different method. One not quite as clean as the Kelvics. Using a rock that he round on the jungle floor and now held in his right hand Naar would cave in the skull of the dead animal after driving the blunt object down into it several times over until he heard the bones cracking and mashing together with the flesh of the head. Discarding the rock once its purpose had been served. Then it was a process of pulling back the loose bits of skin and picking out the fragments of bone that had caved into the head of animal to get at the brain. Blood soaked Naars hands by the time he was finished but he hardly seemed to notice.] [When he could see the brain of the animal, the herbivore, Naar would use his hands to begin scooping out the brain so that he could devour it. Piece by piece. All of this was done in worship to Myri of course. Naar thought that the brain was mostly tasteless not unlike the brains of other animals and people he had eaten in the past but he spared nothing. Waste was not something he could afford. Looking up once he finished with the brain he’d have wiped his mouth with the back of his time and watched as Mihai tore into the breast of his kill to get at its heart, the cracking of bone and ripping of flesh seemed to indicate the Kelvic would soon have what he sought, before likewise going to work on procuring that organ for himself.] [Getting to the heart would be a more difficult matter. Maybe Naar should get himself a dagger instead of relying on his Bagh Nakh so often. The Bagh Nakh fit comfortably into his palm once more and making fluent strokes with the tiger claws Naar would begin to rip into the flesh of the herbivores breast. Working around some of the bones so that he could have an easier time getting to the heart when it was possible and grinding the Bagh Nakh through the bones until they snapped otherwise. Eventually after another long and bloody display Naar would slide the Bagh Nakh out of the palm of his right hand, placing it back on his person, before reaching into the chest of the herbivore and tugging the heart free. With both hands clamped around the large organ Naar would hold it aloft once while looking back at Mihai again.] [Nodding his head once towards Mihai he’d have focused back on the heart before saying...”Myri we thank you for a bountiful hunt and sacrifice the heart of this animal to you, our Queen.”...then he was bringing the heart back to his mouth and taking a large bite out of it. Thick and rich blood burst from the heart as Naar sunk his teeth into it filling his mouth with the coppery taste of vitae. Ripping a piece away with his mouth strings of flesh hung down from his chin and blood leaked freely over his body once again. Eating until he was finished Naar would be covered in the crimson of the kill though he either didn’t mind or was all but oblivious to it himself.] [Now that all of this was done Naar would rise back onto his feet, stretching his limbs out briefly, and look back towards Mihai again. The Kelvic could devour his kill here and now if he desired but Naar was not able to do the same. Looking between the dead herbivore which could be used for meat and tools, nothing left to waste, and back towards Mihai he eventually said...”Mihai.”...he paused and then went on after a moment...”Myri is proud to have a hunter as skilled as you in the jungles of Falyndar. Now we must honor her by taking what we do not eat back to Taloba for the people though.”...once that was said Naar waited to see if Mihai understood what he meant. Maybe Mihai only saw his meal but Naar knew the bones of the animals could be made into tools and other things as well and Naar hoped the Kelvic would understand.] |
