When she was born, she was in great hands. Her mother and father lived in a farmstead in Syliras beside a creek where they drank water from everyday, and around that creek were cattails, that they'd eat the cigar shaped tips and boil them for a nice and tasty treat. They had two horses in a small barn in the back inside a small pasture. The pasture had all sorts of wild flowers sprouting from it as well as your common grasses.
At around 1 month old, she had the memory of a five year old. She could talk, walk and do things toddlers couldn't even do yet, and how tall she was was strange. Her mother wondered about her. If it was a gift from a god, if she had some kind of disease, her mother couldn't tell. Also around this age, her father introduced her to the horses in the back. He told her she could ride them one day when they didn't have to plows fields anymore. That day, her father left her outside to look at the horses, but warned her not to touch. She watched the horses from a close distance, and began talking to them in a language of which the horses and herself only knew. She felt as though it was natural.
The horse's looked at eachother then at her. The other followed behind slowly as they approached. Then, the first horse (who was brown with a blaze down his noze, and white socks) looked at her and said 'Look kid, if your caught talking to us, they're gonna think your crazy and send you to a place for crazy people. Don't do it, kid.' Septimus did not heed the warning and continued on with this act.
Her father noticed her and knew he couldn't hold his secret for long. At 5 months of age, her parents decided to shove her out the door. Her father was hesitant about it for a reason which she didn't know. She didn't understand why she was being thrown out either. Her father met her on the back of the house and spoke to her "You, Septimus are the seventh Kelvic in the family. The name was reserved for your special place, meaning the Seventh One. You must run before they come." It was a hot summer day, with clouds rolling in.
She looked at the two horses and spoke to them in the horse tongue "What do I do?" This time, the white horse spoke "Kid, you've got a special gift." She looked around and then continued "Your parents must have carried the bloodline. Your father probably. And, I remember overhearing them saying you must be sent off early. Run, and don't come back for at least a few months!" Later that rainy afternoon, she tried to morph and succeeded proving her dad and the horse's. She looked like a very sturdy and large filly with a midnight black body with large white stockings and a white blaze.
It had been at least a year when Septimus decided to return for surely the coast must have been clear! Septimus was in her human form at this time and went to knock on the door, discovering that it was charred and burnt to cinders. The garden in which her father had grown the crops was dead, adorned with withered crops. The pasture's lovely flowers had almost all died and the grass was about knee high. The Kelvic called out to find no one and finally decided to neigh to see if any of the horse's were still there but only the white horse had emerged from the barn, galloping at full speed to the gate. "Septimus! Oh my goodness, is that you?!? I am so glad you came, I've been surviving off of rainwater and runoff from the creek the past year!"

"What happened?" Septimus asked, opening the gate for the horse who immediately ran for the cool creek surprisingly still there. The white mare quickly responded, looking around with shifty eyes"You're stupid father went blabbering around to his friends about how he had a Kelvic daughter and word got out to some slavers. They came to kidnap you but when your father repeatedly told them that you weren't here they took him and your mother. The idiots obviously don't know how to check the gender of a horse and took Brownie, mistaking him for you! I hid out in the barn."
Septimus had to come to the harsh reality that she was left alone and she now had to fend for herself in the Wildlands. She swears up and down that a God or Goddess was looking after her for her to survive that long in the Wildlands. Upon living here for several months, she just so happened to pick up on some very valuable information. Septimus rarely spent time in her human form, almost never shifting and enjoying the entire enjoyment of being just... herself. In this time, she spent great amounts of her days studying the edible and poisonous plants of the Wildlands.
However, this was short lived as one day she was exploring and was caught in her tracks by overseeing an Akalak in training. This Akalak just so happened to look up and find her as well which is where she was told what exactly kind of horse she was. It was in this event that she was also steered in the direction of Knighthood and embarked on a journey to become a War Horse and squire.
