10 Winter 511

The loud sound of the crowd could be heard long before the gladiator stepped from the shadows. He had become somewhat of a favorite when it came to gladiatorial matches. He was unpredictable when it came to his fighting. The crowd had come to love how he ended each match differently. Sometimes he would spare a life when they wished for him to end it. Other times he would end a life in such a gruesome fashion that it caused some with weaker stomachs to expel their previous meal. Yet no matter what he did the Alvads filling the arena's seats could not get enough of the carnage in which the coliseum held.

Kale moved slowly out from the opening that had hidden his silhouetted form from those thronging the stands surrounding the crimson hued sand of the arena. He did not walk with the arrogance some of the fighters that won matches here did. He did not need to be arrogant. He knew he was skilled in the ways of combat. He did believe himself superior to those he might face but it was the discipline of the warrior within him that refused to let him openly act conceited on the matter. He had spent the better part of his life in physical conflict of others. It was not the combat he would soon experience that was causing him distress.

Years ago he had been in a fight in this very arena. In that fight he had fought to his utmost ability but he had not succeeded in vanquishing his foe. No it had been he who had died that day, not his opponent. On that day his wounds have proven to be too great for a healer to make it to him in time to save his life. He had been carried from the arena, his life slowly fading with the crimson liquid that fled his body through the wounds in his body. Yet as he lay there, surrounded by dead bodies, he had heard a voice.

That voice had spoken to him. It had promised him a way of becoming stronger. It had promised him a way of exactly his revenge on all of those that might pretend themselves to being superior then he. For all of this he had but to accept the gifts willingly. At that moment, as he lay dying, he sold his soul for the power that the voice had promised him. The voice faded and the man known as Kale died. Instead of death killing the gladiator it changed him. Kale returned from death that day but he was no longer human.

This Kale could only be described as a monster. He did not tire nor did he sleep. He was not affected by the cold. He could now sustain and heal wounds that he had never heard of any creature being able to live through yet he did not bleed. Even with these gifts he was cursed with hunger. No longer did he hunger the meals that he had when he had lived. Now the only thing that seemed to be able to satisfy his hunger was the flesh of others. Even then the hunger never truly went away. It simply became tolerable.

So no it was not fear or anxiety of the coming battle that caused Kale distress. It was the hunger that was coursing through every inch of his being. When he scanned his eyes over the crowd that looked down upon him he did not see spectators. With his perception so altered by the hunger he was experiencing, those bloody thirsty Alvads were in danger of becoming his next meal. His mouth almost watered at the idea of ripping their hands from their arms and consuming them before their shrieking former owners. The monstrous gladiator shifted his gaze from the crowd to the gates his opponents would emerge from. He could still control himself for the moment. He knew it would not be long before the hunger was too great to resist.

Be realistic when playing with Kale. Chained Ones are rare. He has no undead traits that someone can tell. There for you do not know he is undead. Until he exhibits extreme qualities outside of what a human would you can not even tell he is not human. Once he does you will NOT know what he is, only then he is not human. There for you DO NOT suddenly know how to kill him.If you some how know that he is an undead creature without a plausible reason then I will seek moderator intervention on the matter.

10 Winter 511

Another day, another battle... Bones had come to the coliseum today, not sure what he would be facing... Only to find out he would be fighting humans... And along with that, he was being teamed up with a human...

As usual, he got rid of his excess gear, and stowed it away, along with disrobing. Changing into his dhani form, he stretched a bit, feeling the oddly cathartic pleasure of changing his body... His long tail lashing behind him, and his snake head on with a flat face. Strapping his gladius to his back, and putting it away in its sheath, he reached for his GREAT HAMMER, hefting its weight up like it was a light stick, and set it over his shoulder.

It was a pretty big hefty thing, with one side the head of a mallet, and the other a long slim thing sticking out, ending in a point, which was excellent for piercing through armor like a sharp dagger through paper.

Moving along out the gate through which his partner had, he followed along, noticing the look on his face, one which he was quite familiar with... Hunger...

Slithering by, he glanced at him, swinging his snout of a mouth/nose at him, before facing out at the gate... Then it was rising, and Bones blood was beating through his body, and he was moving through the gate...

Across from him the other gate had risen, and out came a good ten men, three of them coming right towards them, another three heading to the left and to the right, and the tenth man standing there waiting at the gate...

Bones spoke to his partner, without bothering to look... "Well... Ssis ssshall be fun... We will eat good today..." As he hefted his big weapon in the air with both hands.
Bones is a Constrictor Dhani. He likes to eat meat. He also has some speech problems.

When he speaks, a double s (ss) means a [th] sound, that he cannot say.

A triple s (sss) means just an [s], but it is extended in his speech.

[The Akeldama Colosseum] The Snake and the Monster (Bones)

The smell of the crowd was beginning to overwhelm Kale. He could no longer smell their unclean bodies. Well he could smell them but that is not what drew his attention. The thought of consuming them would not leave his mind. The more he thought about it the closer he came to losing his grip on what little self-control he still possessed. Sure Shale would likely forgive him for doing such a thing but that would not stop a silencer from being sent after him. He was a monster, not a moron. He had never before fought a silencer and did not intend to try it any time soon.

His attention was tore from the spectators by a sound behind him. He had been facing the direction of the coliseum other arena entrance so he knew it was not his opponents. The only other thing it could have been was the partner that he had been told he would have for this fight. The creature that his eyes fell upon was something that he had never before seen. He knew what kelvics were. He knew they were animals that could take on human forms. In fact he had seen kelvics before that could take on the forms of snakes.

However, what approached him was neither human nor snake. Instead it was some grotesque mixture of the two. It's head was that of a large snake. Once the eyes moved to the neck, the form changed, resembling that of a human. Below the waist, the creature was purely snake. This thing was a kelvic unlike any kelvic he had seen before. Its eyes met his for a moment as it slithered its way towards him. He noted intelligence in those serpentine eyes that he had seen most kelvics lacked. In his apparent confusion at what he had been paired with his hunger had faded to a dull ache in the back of his mind.

His eyes feel on the large weapon that the thing had slung over its shoulder. The massive thing must have weighed quite a bit. He did not think that a human would have been able to wield it effectively with the sheer amount of weight it had to possess. The snake-kelvic-thing seemed to have no trouble carrying it around. He would see how well his "partner" wielding his huge weapon. If this thing proved to be a liability to him, his opponents would not be the only things that would suddenly find their selves taking up residence inside Kale's stomach.

The gladiator tore his eyes from the snake and turned his gaze to the gates opposite of where they had emerged. The gate slowly lifted and their opponents emerged. As the men moved further from the gate they began to separate from one another. Kale's gaze shifted from group to group as their opponents drew further away from one another. "Well... Ssis ssshall be fun... We will eat good today..." his companion said. The words came out with a hissing sound. He kept his every shifting eyes locked on their adversaries but Kale nevertheless responded to his partner. "Just don't let them separate us snake-man."

[The Akeldama Colosseum] The Snake and the Monster (Bones)

Postby Ssafirsotibones on January 18th, 2012, 10:23 pm

Bones nodded his snout in response to what Kale had said, and began moving forward towards the three coming right at them. The one closest to them was using quite usual weapons, he had a metal shield in one hand, a longsword in the other. He was wearing a leather helm, and studded leather armor, and was running at them screaming. The second man was not far behind, also running. He was on the short side, With a long knife in each hand, and wearing basic leather armor only on his torso, and the rest of him was covered in cloth.

The last one was moving faster than a walk, but was not running. Obviously he did not want to tire himself out, and was letting his to companions get to the fight first. He seemed to be the smartest of the three. He was wearing Leather armor from head to toe, with a leather cap, He was also wearing a pair of metal gauntlets, which seemed to be his weapon of choice.

As they neared, Bones ran into the first two which had been running, and the third skirted around, believing that surely the human would be an easier fight than a giant snake man. So the one with the gauntlets ran towards Kale, to fight him, while Bones was occupied with the other two.

But Bones stopped paying close attention to him as he neared Kale, surely his partner would take care of him. Which let him mostly focus on the others... Though he was still sensing by heat signature, the body heats of the men easily visible emanating so close, and he would keep watch for one sneaking from behind, if he managed to beat his partner, and unlikely event.

So there he was fighting, two on one, his GREAT HAMMER held at the ready, kept even as his lower body undulated as a snake, pushing him forward and at the one with the shield and sword. He hefted his weapon back, and swung hard right into the mans metal shield with the mallet end. A loud ringing like a gong went out as it hit, and unheard by most, the cracking of Bones. He had only dented the shield, but he had hit so hard it had broken the mans arm. It suddenly dropped limp, and the shield slipped from his grip.

Before the man could react, and while he was still focused on his sudden pain from the attack, Bones turned his weapon around for the long tapered end, and swung it right into the mans chest. It went through the leather like parchment, and jammed into his chest completely, the end poking out of the mans back. Unfortunately it got caught on something, and when he tried to pull it back, it snagged. He would have to get it later.

He let go and took a step back, drawing his gladius as the second man neared with his knives. The first one looked down in shock, and used his good hand to pull on the weapon in him.... Both Bones and the other fighter watched out of the corner of there eye, as he managed to get it out, and it dropped to the ground, soon followed by the man as a great spurt of blood came out... He dropped to his knees, and a moment later fell face down, losing blood fast... Bones must have hit a major artery, as it pulsed and torrents of blood spurted out every few seconds all at once.

But it was back to work, one was down, and Bones held his gladius up tauntingly to the short man who was next, asking for him to come, wondering how Kale had done with his one man. All the while the other groups were maneuvering, one group slowly edging closer on one side, and the other trying to round the long way around to get to there gate so they could get behind them and surround them, as they continued to fight the first group.

[The Akeldama Colosseum] The Snake and the Monster (Bones)

Postby Kale on January 20th, 2012, 7:05 pm

The gladiator was glad that the over grown snake was of the same mind he was. There were entirely too many opponents for them to survive getting split up. They would have to stay near each other to come to one another's aid. Kale's eyes were locked on the group of enemies closest to them. It seems the other two groups they would be facing were more cautious then this group. They were going to sacrifice their comrades in order to test the abilities of their opponents. Kale had to commend their foresight. The group rushing the two warriors did not even realize their companions had inadvertently sentenced them to death.

Kale slowly began to follow the snake man now that it had created a considerable gap between the two of them. He did not fear their opponents but he could not resist thinking that the snake-thing was better suited for initiating combat with their foes then he was. As he expected, the majority of the first group focused on his partner. Unlike the other two, the third man decided that Kale would be a better target to fight against.

His attention shifted from the group as a whole to his opponent. The two men began to slowly edge towards one another. They were clearly intending on a close quarters fight, yet neither seemed to be willing to make the first move. The two began to circle one another. The two continued to move around one another for what seemed like minutes. The tension in the air grew as they both realized that the other was unwilling to begin their duel. Neither combatant said a word to one another but anyone accustomed to duels would clearly see a battle of wills between the two.

It was the gauntlet user that won the test of wills. The undead gladiator gave up and decided to begin their fight before someone tried to interfere. Kale closed the distance between the two of them with frightening speed. An expression of surprise crossed his opponent's face at the sudden movement. His elbow shot into the man's stomach as he got into range. Unfortunately the man's reflexes saved him from the brunt of the blow. The man was in the midst of darting back when the tip of Kale's fist hit his abdomen. A grimace of pain crossed the man's face but a gauntlet found its way into the side of Kale's face nonetheless.

[The Akeldama Colosseum] The Snake and the Monster (Bones)

Postby Ssafirsotibones on January 28th, 2012, 9:46 pm

Bones might have been surprised to see as his partner was hit in the side of the face by a metal gauntlet, if he had been paying attention to it. But he was not, but was focusing on his immediate threat of a fighting partner.

The man came at him, as Bones had his gladius at the ready, and the man had a long knife in each hand. As they neared, it was clearly obvious he was worried, having seen his ally go down, and him now alone to fight him. The man held both the knifes up defensively before him, but Bones just laughed a bone chilling laugh which sent a shiver down the man with the knives back...

Bones slammed his gladius into one of the outstretched blades, knocking it clean out of his hand. He panicked, and started swinging wildly at Bones. But Bones kept his cool, slightly shifting his own weapon so that the slashes clattered harmlessly off. He slashed once more lower, as the man made his mad swipes, cutting open the mans hand, making him drop the blade.

Now his foe unarmed, Bones slashed right across his neck, cutting it open with a large rent. Blood gushed out, and he coughed, making a mist of blood fly into the air, before he began to stumble. Bones made more slash to the mans neck, cutting even worse, and decapitating him. As his head rolled over the sand, his body fell limp, and dead.

Bones turned back to see the first man, seeing him near his GREAT HAMMER. Bones silently walked up to the man, who was bleeding out his mouth, and trying to hold his hands over the whole punched in his chest. Bones picked up his weapon, and made his grimace like smile... Then he hefted it up, high in the air, attracting the attention of the crowd.

As he did, a cheer rose, along with his giant hulk of a weapon... Then all at once, he dropped the mallet end on the man gurgling at his feet, right on his head, popping it like a melon, bits of blood, skull, and flesh flying everywhere for feet. An even greater cry rose out of the crowd, coming to a crescendo at watching his gory finish, taking the man out.

Done with his foes, which were obviously weakling sent out for the purpose of dying and testing them, Bones turned to Kale and the man he fought... And noticed something for the first time... All around him, Bones could sense heat signatures emanating from the people... However Kale, his partner... Did not have one... His body was the same temperature of the land around him, which did not seem possible, even if he was cold blooded like Bones...
