While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Man VS. Monster (Eryss)

After a time, Aello managed to straighten herself out. She stared at the monster, at Eryss, who now found himself on the other side of the mote. Great... she thought, as she rolled her eyes and reached for another arrow, swiftly, lacing it onto the string, before raising it to take aim. She closed her left eye again, as she inched the string back, and guided the arrow's point over the back of the yukman's neck. The string creaked, and soon, grew taut. Aello knew it was time, now that the monster was distracted, practically beating his own chest. Within a moment, Aello released the string, sending the arrow forth. Flying only a short distance until it met its mark, and slid halfway through his flesh. The creature shrieked as blood squirted away. As he slowly crumbled, sending the other yukman into a series of screeches as they looked about and then stepped away. Looked about again, an then retreated entirely.

As soon as the body fell, Aello's body sagged too. She raised her hand, and wiped the sweat from her brow, before easing herself forward, and gathering her things. Leaping lazily over the mote, and touching down on the other side. "Are you alright Eryss... only Dira knows how you wound up here. Do you need a hand, or are you in no mood to get up? Tired from that fight... same as I?" There was a pause, as Aello looked up, wondering if they'd come back, or if they really were, safe. She extended her hand then, holding it out for him, as she peered down her nose at the lesser mage. Well, lesser as far as she was concerned, after all, he was the one who had wound up outside the defensive ring. "In the mood for a good, long nap, and perhaps, something to eat?"

Aello smirked. She was in no mood to play nice, or housewife, so if he were in the mood, he'd be in for a rude awakening.

Man VS. Monster (Eryss)

Postby Eryss Waldu on March 6th, 2012, 1:29 am

[At last the Yukman was dead and the battle was over. Looking up from where he was on hands and knees Eryss would see the arrow Aello fired sink into the neck of the enormous monster before it began spurting blood and the large bodied killer sunk to the ground lifeless. After that the other Yukmen seemed disorientated and fled soon afterwards. Eryss took a few deep breaths, his chest still heavy though he didn’t think anything was broken, before he saw Aello standing over him and offering her hand. The Mage saw her and briefly, for a short time, he looked upon her differently and without the general malice he reserved for others whether they be associates or random individuals he had only just made the acquaintances. They had fought this battle together and there were no betrayals.]

[Accepting the offered hand Eryss would climb back onto his feet before releasing and looking around the both of them. There were quite a few dead bodies but the living Yukmen seem to have disappeared which suited the Mage fine seeing as how he had no desire to do further battle with any of them. Nodding his head he would reply to Aello...”Yes tired and hungry.”...his breath laboured with some exertion before he went on...”I can count on you not to provide food or rest though.”...there was some sarcasm evident when he said that seeing as how Eryss knew that Aello wouldn’t have assisted him there. She just wasn’t the type.]

[Now that he was back on his feet Eryss looked back towards the large Yukman still inside the ring of magma too. Shifting on his feet he’d move back to the ring which was well on its way to continue cooling by now and carefully leap over before landing on the other side. Moving a hand to cover his side which still bled slightly the Mage would pause before walking back towards the dead Yukman and reaching for the dagger still embedded in its foot. Pulling the blade free and concealing it in his robes once again before turning and moving back to Aello which saw him leaping over the magma once again. It was harder than it looked. When he landed the second time Eryss would fall forward before recovering with a mutter.]

[Looking at Aello then he offered a quiet...”Lets walk awhile. Til we know they aren’t waiting to attack again.”...his logic being that the Yukmen might come back and neither he, nor Aello now, was in any condition to fight a group of them alone. Not with all the aches and pains that they were both likely suffering from. Eryss would clean his wound with some of his drinking water when they’d travelled far enough so that it wouldn’t get dirty and infect; he wanted to avoid that at all costs. Wrapping the wound could come later. These had certainly been interesting times that he had lived through.]

[Once they’d walked far enough Eryss would likely bid Aello another farewell but something told him that this wasn’t to be the last time the two of them made the acquaintance of one another. Aello was fast becoming a familiar face in these woods for Eryss. The Mage had to wonder if their meetings were now mere coincidence or something more entirely. Time would tell.]

Comments :
Ahhhhhh how I love a good old fashioned battle! It was a fantastic read guys, awesome job! Aello, I can't really give you any more points in Auristics or Dagger, as you have them maxed out, and the your shortbow skill is well on its way to being maxed as well. If my character ever has to fight yours I may just have him stab himself and save you the trouble  If it were not for those headaches holding you back, you probably would have earned a full 5 XP in reimancy (which will no doubt be maxed soon enough), plus some nifty overgiving scars from yours truly! PM me if you all have any questions or concerns!
Currently working at new job so I am still trying to balance it out with Miza. I apologize for any delays.
