Drunken Encounter [Shai]

50th Day of Winter

Ryce moved down the short stretch of street as quickly as he could manage, the cook having chased him out of his restaurant just moments before. He had been snooping around for some time until being noticed; at first the cook seemed pleasant enough. Providing the ferret with a small chunk of raw pork had delighted him thoroughly. The quick change of reactions is what now had him on the run away from the building. His bowel movement hadn't been large by any means, and the new high quality of food he was recently feed seemed to not sit well with his more common diet, the cook still didn't take kindly to the fact either way.

His quick sprint soon slowed to more of a repetitive bounce along the street. Still not certain if he had managed to escape the wrath of the crazed cook, Ryce searched for a small place to take cover in quickly without being noticed. As Shai walked towards the Sun & Stars Tavern, a hap chance find much to her appreciation, Ryce quickly took advantage and dipped in the drag of her long black cloak. Walking as she walked, he paid special attention to not move to quickly and run into her moving feet and as well not move to slowly to and be noticed by any suspecting cooks that might still be tailing him.

As she entered the building and took her seat at the bar, the ferret peeked around from within the comforts of the draped cloak as it now arched around the seat only barely reaching the floor. With this he gave himself a few moments to gather until eventually he would begin his curious inspection of where he had come to be

Drunken Encounter [Shai]

OOCis the 50th ok for the Timestamp? And I hope you don't mind the scratching, I know you didn't mention it but every ferret I've encountered makes noise on wood floors. If it's a problem let me know and I'll remove it. :)

If living in Sunberth had taught Shai anything it was that when you ahd too much to think about you stopped thinking. The very best way to halt thought processes, aside from death, was booze. Lots of alcohol. The problems needed fixing, of course, and she would get to it just not tonight. If she had been more concerned about her surroundings the thief would have heard the scratching of ferret claws upon the cobblestones, but the city had been making her lax. Shai moved through the avenues surrounded by the echo of her own footsteps.

Shai knew what to look for to locate the Sun and Stars, which was unfortunate because otherwise it was easy to miss. It was a comfortable tavern and she even liked the bartenders, although she wasn’t up for snarky banter tonight. Passing through the threshold she took a moment to notice the mosaic that lived in the ceiling mimicking the cloudy night sky she’d just left behind. After gathering up a drink from the bar the Symenestra went to find a table away from the majority of the customers. Just as much as she didn’t wish to think tonight, she didn’t wish to deal with idiots.

Slumping down into her chair the thief sat awhile in silence, watching the other patrons. As she bent forward to take her first drink of the night she heard a gentle scratching. Her brow furrowed and she leaned back away from the mug. Her first reaction was it was her imagination, but eventually her suspicious nature kicked back in. Ducking her head under the table, which displayed a small measure of her flexibility, Shai tried to spy the culprit. The spider was expecting a thief, not a weasel, and when she found none beneath the table she shrugged and sat back up. Perhaps the tavern had rats, not her problem nor did it bother her over much. Her suspicions momentarily put to rest, Shai took first drink of the night.

Drunken Encounter [Shai]

Scampering as Shai moved his small claws tapped against the wooden floor, and as she came to her final resting place he gave a few moments before moving again. Having moved away from the crowds of others came as a convenience to the ferret, still unsure if the chef was still on his determined pursuit. As he shuffled around, his claws had skid against the floor, obviously being heard he watched and lowered himself as Shai made her inspection under the table itself.

Relief flushed through him as she went back to the drink she now had just above, he went along with his movements to look around the tavern for safety. Peeking his head around and resorting to sniffing, his eye sight lacked detail after a couple of feet, satisfied with no immediate threats he began to move more openly. Different aromas filled the crevasses in which he sniffed the must of day laborers, mild soaps most likely used in cleaning the bar, and then the scent of Shai. The scent wasn't overly notable but still raised his curiosity; he wasn't deterred from human contact more just cautious, he was capable of handling himself and what problems he had ever encountered if needed be.

The ferret followed the smell along her foot; the hard worn leather filled his nostrils, raising his upper body he continued to sniff until leaning carefully against the front of her leg. He held on as the leg shuttered immediately after touching it, looking up he awaited a further reaction and prepared for anything in his uncertainty.

Not a lot here so not a lot to give I'm afraid. Don't know where this was heading but it's a shame that there wasn't more
