The Pig's Foot Tavern [Friendly chat is where its at]

Postby Kreig Messer on January 24th, 2012, 7:57 am

Season of Winter, Day 80, 511 AV

The Pig's Foot tavern, there's a reason its the most popular tavern in Sunberth . For Kreig, it was home away from home, it had a comforting aura about it. Your troubles are left at the door and you are free to chat, drink and be merry. Of course, its mainly the location that draws people to it but that was a trivial reason. A place like the Pig's Foot is rare in that it encourages brawling, of course it proprietor would have quite the hissy fit if someone were to damage it in anyway. And the proprietor was no weakling despite his advanced age, which was why Kreig respected him enough to not cause a ruckus. Although he admits a brawl with him would be quite the experience.

As he sat at one of the tables, he enjoyed his simple hobby of simply listening. Sitting nonchalantly near places where the conversations always seemed juicy. What he was listening too now was a man telling his friend of his marital troubles, apparently his wife was cheating on him with his brother for quite a few years. He got into argument with his brother and suspected that his son was not his own but his brother's but he soon discovered that it was neither his or his brothers 'Dear Goddess, this is quite the entertainment' Kreig thought as he tried to stifle his grin.

Listening aside, his mind went back on that mousy little girl he remembered from months past , she looked curvacious in his eye 'Ah, such an innocent-looking one. I wonder if she lives? or has she fallen to the abyss that is Sunberth?'

The Pig's Foot Tavern [Friendly chat is where its at]

Postby Ana Sol Starris on January 24th, 2012, 9:12 am

Ana had slapped herself in the head many times before, breathed deeply then out, she wasn't going to let stupidity in this time. As she thought while looking at a stand byers purse at his side, such an idiot the little theif thought. Hers for the taking though, she had moved slowly behind him he appeared to have been drinking heavily or just looking sour. Perfect, Ana grinned devishly as she began to follow his movements a bit as she untied the small sack of coin.

His waist and hips swayed lightly as he began walking foward, she quickly pressed herself against the wall then looked to her other side in case a cut throat or gang of them saw her do it. Heart pounding, she'd done it, looking back at the man he had taken a few steps more before he stopped and looked down where his purse use to be. Busted, Ana thought panicking he had looked behind and around him as she stood straight and began to walk normally hoping he wouldn't notice her.

Sliding the coin purse into her tucked in dirty blouse, she heard him yell lightly and the stamps of enraged feet, next a sharp tug on her pitiful cloak. She gave a yelp and twisted her arm back to pull and twist the cloak out of whomevers hands, whether it be the man, or someone else. Hearing the tear in the poorly fabricated and already battered thing she sprinted away with her heart pounding hard from fear in whichever direction that didn't include her grabbers hand. There was commotion from behind her, she didn't stop to look back nor did she want to, the safest area she could find would be a tavern to curl in.

After a good few meters she began weaving through people, slowing down, and making sure her blouse stayed tucked in where the stolen purse lay clinking erratically. Large amber eyes on the look out, scanning everything around her, looking up or around glancing quickly back she made her way to the closest looking tavern establishment. Not sure if she had escaped or not, or if someone else had begun tailing her Ana made sure to stay alert. Pushing the door open to be greeted by the usual tavern noise, aroma, and sights- breathing as if she had just ran a marathon for the first time. Eventually her breathing calmed.

The Pig's Foot Tavern, what a lovely bar Ana thought sarcastically. But was grateful for the warmth, now she'd be able to see what she had rightfully plucked. The excitement grew at the thought, small things like this, they helped her get by. Scanning the room quick, people were the usual, though she didn't know much about this bar it would have to do. Cursing under her breath, her cloaks hood had fallen down while she was running but it didn't matter. She wanted it down anyways, now she chose a spot not too close to the door but just within reach if trouble were to come around.

Waiting for a waiteress to pass her by, she continued to look around. The merriment was the same as in any tavern, she saw an argument going on and wondered what it was about. She hadn't noticed the familliar brawler troublemakers face from awhile back, her eyes always glancing to the door. Till finally she pressed her hand to her forehead and told herself to mentally calm down that she had escaped, mumbling reassurances to herself outloud under breath.

OOC :
Hope that was an apropriate entrance post, still paranoid about NPC's. XD

"Why, slap me silly and call me ringo" Kreig quietly told himself as he noticed something for more delightful then the conversation he was listening intently too 'Its the innocent little girl' indeed, she still lived and sat somewhere close to the door. Why, Kreigs heart was all a flutter. Unable to pass up this chance, he stood up from his seat and moved himself to her location. Nonchalantly, he moved close to her location 'Best not scare her, she looks as paranoid as a small critter ' He thought as glanced at her with a calm smile and asked "Mind if I join you?"

Her gaze had been directed at the door again, watching more people walk in and the such. Till her ears picked up a voice, she turned her head only slightly to glance at him through the corner of her eyes and knew the question was directed at her. There was no one else he was looking at, turning her head to look him full in the face to recognize him very slowly with a face crossed with annoyance and suspicion "you're that guy that started that fight in the tavern" she began, a bit of disbelief in her tone "why?" Scanning his body up and down for what valuables he may have.

Of course she didn't expect this, who's this guy exactly? Ana questioned herself, watching any and all movement made by him as along with the rest of her sight of the tavern she could see. The coin purse resting against her stomach lightly demanded to be spent right away on food, she couldn't do that right away with the fool there. Glancing towards the bar, then back to the door in a way to make it look like she wasn't planning an escape route. Back at him, she leaned on her elbow looking tired and annoyed. What else could she do besides sit? She didn't exactly want to be caught in the middle of a brawl and he looked rather violent too..

"Glad my rambunctious behavior left such an impression" He said with a wide grin as he looked at her, as he got a closer look he noted that paranoia and tired expression on her face, she looked like she'd been here longer than Kreig gave credit 'You must've been through quite the turbulent times. When she asked why he desired to sit near her, he gave off another smile "I find you interesting, reason enough if you ask me."

With that revelation he took a seat at her table as she looked upon Kreig with annoyance "Aw, don't look at me like that. If your worried that I may cause a ruckus, this tavern is not one of the places I usually do so. The old man who runs the place is no slouch when it comes to dealing with the likes of me " He chuckled as he rested his head on his right hand "And I quite like it here" He noted how she constantly checked the door as if trouble could come through at any moment 'Oh? if such trouble comes the old man won't mind if I 'help' stop the ruckus

The Pig's Foot Tavern [Friendly chat is where its at]

Postby Ana Sol Starris on January 24th, 2012, 1:37 pm

As the brawler sat at her table, Ana almost litterally gave a choked hiss at him, leaning back in her chair to straighten up and be on gaurd. Every warning sensor in her mind was going off, too close, she thought panickingly though her face was the essence of annoyance. Her eye seemed to lift upward, along with the corners of her mouth becoming tight and pulled back she looked as if she had smelled something bad. Though nothing did besides the tavern, of its ale and sweat, and an oder she wasn't sure about though she dismissed it as the ranchor coming out from the streets.

Giving an unimpressed, unamused face Ana sighed, tugging at her blouse a little by the hem and uprooting it she quickly caught the purse. Slowly feeling it around it she watched him, then the door again, there would be no resting easy for her. "Whatever, just don't expect anything from me" she stated as she looked over the room as she deducted there was possibly around three to four coins by touch, he caught her at a bad time. She wanted to look at the spoils she had just reaped but she didn't want him to see it, flashing money wasn't a good thing to do in this town as shes noticed when others had done it. Much worse than what Ana, a simple pick pocket could do.

When nothing had come through, and her mental reasurances along with the mans statement. She came to the conclusion no one was delusional enough to chase after an escaped pickpocket especially when there could have been worse, the man, who ever had grabbed her cloak was most likely cursing at this moment for letting himself be robbed. But would someone go as far to track down the little theif? No, Ana thought not. Now she curiously looked over to him and why he was so insistant that he sit by her " you sound such like a gentleman, despite your status.." she added quietly under her breath "brawler stupidity."

"My names Ana," she added quickly in in case she hadn't mumbled quiet enough as she gave him not her full psuedo name "and yours?"

"I certainly didn't expect to" He chuckled at her comment that he should expect nothing from her "And I like to consider myself an..... educated brawler" He said with a grin "Just because I love the art of beating people to a pulp doesn't mean I have to be an impolite ignoramus" He then looked over the Tavern, his arm strewn about over the chair as he was curious as to just what that girl is afraid of exactly ,then turned to her as he heard her name "Ana? Such a delightful sounding name. I am Kreig Messer, Brawler and part-time henchmen at your service"

"Tell me, Ana. When I look at you, a question comes to mind" He said as he rested his arms on the table " Judging from the behavior I see so far, you seem to be quite......out of place, and not a native to our humble den of vice and death" He said quietly, eying her with interest.

The Pig's Foot Tavern [Friendly chat is where its at]

Postby Ana Sol Starris on January 24th, 2012, 9:59 pm

Crossing her arms lightly, she continued to feel the bag in her hand, crumpling it up, it was light, lighter than normal coinpurses even if it felt as if it had mizas inside. Listening to him talk and the tavern, and especially listening for heavy footsteps by the doorway. His manner was careless, just as it had been those months ago and the thought of it made her want to gag. "Thanks...Kreig" she said with a hint of reluctance, ignoring the last parts in his statement. It however intrigued her that he was 'educated' in a sense, though it wasn't really the first time she had met someone educated in Sunberth so she didn't really know why she was dubious about his statement. Braun and brain didn't seem to go together often.

Kreigs question or rather his statement sent her rigid, looking at him she didn't think he was capable of observation. Glaring lightly at him "is it really that noticiable?" Asking him with a question of her own and continuing on- her voice lowering, she didn't want trouble, not with him "make any sudden movements and I'll be out that door before you try anything," Anas posture in her chair shifted to be ready to sprint for the door, the chair turning out from the table ever so lightly. She didn't want to be in that situation again. Others before him noticed this also, not just some important figures in her life but other theives and cut throats as well. Actually Ana began to believe everyone in Sunberth could see it quite clearly she wasn't born in those awful, poor, hunger-bitten streets.

Her paranoia of the place only made her learn more, she'd chosen well, and the book had been helpful in keeping her alive on the bare minimum since she got here. Even with her mistakes, her screw ups, she followed the one important rule that seemed to prevale half the others: caution above greed, thought before action. Though with her human needs, such as food and shelter of the sorts, it was hard to follow that rule to a T all the petching time. Ana had been waiting for the time she'd be strong enough to not be scared of the violence and the death, or the venom, anger filled eyes of others.

"Oh it doesn't take long to figure out really, your paranoia is something I've seen many a time on the faces of other who struggle with certain lifestyles" He said with a smile, noticing her mistrust clearly and a slight hint of panic across her tired futures " Oh please, don't take me for those poor deprived fools who leap upon others once weakness is shown' He leaned back on is chair with arms crossed "Of course, your face is not just littered with paranoia. Your facial features reveals a tired weariness under your eyes and the thinness of your face shows improper nutrition. It is so clear to me and I have no experience in the field of medicine" he pointed out these fine little facts "And whats boggling is that you seem used to it. Tell me, what brings you to Sunberth? "

The Pig's Foot Tavern [Friendly chat is where its at]

Postby Ana Sol Starris on January 25th, 2012, 1:34 pm

Ana wanted out, away from him, to run but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She was always running, and the cold outside wasn't inviting to say the least bit. The little theif didn't move from her spot, though any and all movement she was watching like a hawk along with the rest of the tavern. No one was taking notice to the two of them, which was good, and the door didn't open constantly. Still she didn't relax, there were warnings going off in her head as began pointing out the things she herself knew very clearly. Like a book, Anas face was like a petching book and if someone such as Kreig himself could see that.. Well.. Ana didn't want to think about that really.

"Learning a trade," she started off as was usual for her reasons "I've come to Sunberth not to learn book smarts, but street smarts" her thoughts began to linger on her book; what a contradictory statement. Feeling very carefully under her cloak for that it was still there brought a bit of relief it hadn't fallen through during the running. Why'r they always so questiony Ana thought dryly to herself, she didn't lie to him at all her reason was true to the T but he wouldn't get to know much more of it than that. Smiling lightly at him "though I wonder.." Anas voice trailed off, she breathed in deeply then out not finishing her sentence as if it were an off placed thought.
