Wind Eagle Killer Caught ~(OPEN)~(Morality & Action)

The voice of a new stranger made her freeze in the spot. Miana didn't even have to turn to the person to know that she was an Avora hunter; the exhuberant confidence in her voice and the boldness in her delivery was enough for her to know this. The trills of the bird just deepened her panic.

"Hard not to..." from her back, she heard the Chiet return the silent greeting. As she announced the strangers name and yanked away her arm, a sudden change in her tone made Miana smile acidicly. 'Of course you know her name,' she mused, 'let's see if that Avora even remembered yours.'

As the girl cajoled the Avora huntress for her reasons, Miana kept her body still and stony, the basket of laundry loosely at her hands. Although it was a only a brief glance, Miana immediately caught on to her contempt. 'Oh how laughable is this!' She reflected sardonically, 'trust a Chiet to be as two faced as her.'

Already losing patience, she steadied the basket with both of her hands and testily waited for the two to finish. After all, she was already caught together with the Chiet, running away would've been stupid; that would only just draw attention to herself even more. Miana sighed softly, suddenly aware of how mentally exhausted she was.
OOC NOTESorry about that Na'Leigh, didn't mean to steal your thunder there. And hello, Arandolya! :)

Arandolya
The only limit is the Stars . . .

Arandolya paid little attention to the younger girl, looking at the Dek that had caught her attention in the first place. The unease was apparent, and Trith settled on Arandolya's outstretched fingers, as she narrowed her gaze slightly. "Not very polite to keep your back to an Avora," she stated lightly, walking towards the Dek and around so she could peer at the girl.
"It's nice to see you again Arandolya." The Chiet's recognition of her was a slight surprise, and Arandolya glanced up quickly to the other girl, studying her more carefully, dipping her head politely to the bow.
"Ah, yes, the troublesome Na'Leigh," the hunter said with a quick smile. "It is quite lucky we see each other at all," she added with a wink. Returning her attention back to the Dek, Arandolya practically suffocated in the . . . anger coming off the drudge. Settling back on her heels, Arandolya cocked a fiery eyebrow, "Quite the angered one aren't we," she said quietly, stroking Trith's soft head in a thoughtful manner as she digested the information.

Again, Na'Leigh interrupted her train of thoughts, her chirpy voice piercing the cloud of contemplation. "What are you doing down here? Everyone besides us, is up there...enjoying...themselves." The disapproval, and almost disgust was a tang in Na'Leigh's soft voice, and was something the Avora's ears easily picked up. Arandolya smiled, her honey eyes darkening with a morbid pleasure.
"Ah yes, that murderer is called to justice. Judge how you'd like, little one, he deserves every pain he gets, for the Wind Eagles who suffered from him certainly did not deserve such fate. They are much more valued then that filth," she said, her tone controlled, and grimly satisfied.

"Where are you two off to anyways?" she continued, dropping that subject, as it was obvious her and the Chiet did not see the same. Arandolya seemed not fazed to have a Dek and Chiet together, having different views on these Dek that no matter how much the others tried to deny it, did the dirty work of the mountain. She felt they deserved their jobs, but did not go thankless. Not that she would thank any of the Dek, she certainly wouldn't tell one to run and try out her aim on them. Perhaps it was a fault, this more loose view on the caste system, that kept her above the two before her, but it gave a shade of understanding, that she liked to think was beneficial.

While Trith fluttered off her hands and started flying around in her absent boredom, and Arandolya shifted her weight to one leg, the crowd roared above them with a hungry rage, and the one man before them was the one thing that could feed and satisfy it. Arandolya told herself firmly she did not want to violently participate.

OOCThanks for the welcome :embarrassed: Can't wait to see where this goes. (:

Wind Eagle Killer Caught ~(OPEN)~(Morality & Action)

The woman had stated the obvious. Miana almost rolled her eyes. Of course it was rude. To the upper castes, the simple state of a Dek's existence was insufferably rude. To Miana's chagrin, the Avora seemed to be insistent in getting her to react. Peering at her, even trying to engage her into conversation. Miana blew out a heavy, reluctant sigh. She was simply too drained out to play the defensive brick wall- too tired in trying to fight for her own will. Slowly, for both the dramatic effect and a slight rebellion, Miana turned to face this Arandolya, her face calm and composed. Yes, she was beyond pissed off, but it didn't mean that they had to know. Whatever anger that they had noticed from her was visibly gone; her tensed shoulders were loosened, her stiff posture slack and her expression a mask of vagueness and slight puzzlement, a perfect disguise of stupidity to throw their inquisitiveness off. The only clue to her emotions were the slight glint in her steely eyes as they reached the Avora's own. And they clearly told her that she was wasting her time.

Glancing at the Chiet, Na'Leigh (at least, that's what the Avora called her), Miana took in her eagerness for the Avora and suppressed a desire to pat her on the back in pity. As far as Miana could tell, she really wasn't getting any brownie points from the woman.

"What are you two off to anyways?"

Her gloating was immediately cut off and suspicion settled with a heavy hand. Despite this harmless, friendly even, question, there was a substantial chance that she could get her punished for helping out her little fangirl in her silly little quest. And all it took was for this Avora to squeal. Miana's cold silver eyes slid over the Avora's shoulder, taking note of the exit of the warrens where it met with the Courtyard, along with an angry mob. With pointy things. Remembering their bloodthirst, she promptly decided to play nice with the two of them. At least, for the time being.

Wind Eagle Killer Caught ~(OPEN)~(Morality & Action)

Postby Na'Leigh on March 24th, 2012, 11:08 pm

Annoyed by Arandolya's arrogance Na'Leigh silenced herself and watched the two. Obviously the Avora wasn't interested in her but in the odd looking Dek, though the fact irritated her the Avora certainly wouldn't give her more attention if she continued talking. Though she believed the Dek's had their place, they were human and deserved to be treated with respect. Few on the mountain shared this opinion but despite this grudging tolerance and respect for their humanity the Chiet was not thrilled with the Avora's focus on the lesser of the two before her.

"For one so prim and proper in the ways of the mountain, you can be quite rude," Na'Leigh snapped, If the Avora wasn't going to give her respect she was going to demand it. "We are going to clean those," she nodded indicating the clothes, "We tried to use them to save the..." Cut off my the angry row above her she glanced up pain clouding her face.

When she turned back to look at the Dek she noticed her changed demeanor and tilted her head shooting the girl a curious expression. Though hardly met, she thought of the girl as a partner after the Avora had rejected her friendly greeting. Certainly, neither of them wanted her there.

Arandolya
The only limit is the Stars . . .

As she had insisted, and even took the time to walk around to the girl's front, the Dek raised her eyes and relaxed her body. Hm, good. Hiding your anger. If she thought that she could make it appear the anger just vanished, such was not so, just proving she was a good actor. The steely gaze met Arandolya's soft honey one, and her lips quirked into a wry smile. "Well well," was all she wasted her breath on, seeing this Dek had quite the mind of her own despite the act she so quickly threw on. No use trying to be friendly if the girl didn't want friends.

"For one so prim and proper in the ways of the mountain, you can be quite rude," the younger girl snapped, bringing surprised eyes to her face, displeasure in Arandolya's lack of attention obvious on her naive features. Arandolya could only smile amusedly at the girl, holding back the sharp retort she wanted to whip her way. Straightening, and looking at the girl, she smiled gently.
"What have I done to be rude? I greeted you, did not at all scold you for seemingly in some sort of companionship with a Dek, and even held my tongue against your odd opinion about our capture. His death is something you should revel. Oh dear, and I said I wouldn't chide. I have not ignored you, or turned away. I've even recalled our times together before, though many Avora would put themselves above such memories. For one so prim and proper, you can be quite outspoken and sometimes out of line," Arandolya replied, her smooth voice neutral and calm, golden eyes holding a hint of humor to tone down her words. Displeased with the girl, though she did not show it, Arandolya smiled easily, golden eyes welcoming to the two of them.

"You are cleaning clothes?" The Avora echoed lightly, a curious look playing in her gaze that travelled to the clothes. "To save the prisoner?" This came with more light shock, though she should've seen it coming with Na'Leigh's previous reactions. "Even in the supreme joy of finding the killer of our beloved friends, the ones who let us fly, and keep Wind Reach our own; you turn away from violence." Her gaze turned even more interested. "Fascinating," was all she said as she looked back to the blood-stained pieces of clothing. "And you were even going to help the Dek?" A pause. "Fascinating."

Silently, Arandolya studied the two. The boiling Dek, the ignorant Chiet, who seemed quite friendly the first time they met - had Arandolya done something to displease her? (Other then "ignoring her" as she irrelevantly claimed). A moment of silence, and Trith twittered a song to break it, Arandolya blinking as though waking. She wondered if she should impose and suggest accompanying the two, or if she should take her leave now. "If it makes no difference to you, I'd like to come." Her eyes flicked to Na'Leigh, since she knew the Dek would not speak out (she seemed much to angry at the world). "You are quite outspoken, and I'm sure will tell me how you feel about such company." A small humorous smile flickering on her lips, and an amused curiosity playing in her eyes, Arandolya waited to either be rudely yelled at, or grudgingly accepted to come along.

OOCSorry Arandolya came off as ignoring Na'L, I wasn't going for that at all!! She's trying to be nice. xDD

Wind Eagle Killer Caught ~(OPEN)~(Morality & Action)

She wanted to applaud this woman, give her a good pat in the back like she deserved for putting the Chiet in her place. Miana had the trouble of keeping her face clear of a growing smile.

Taking this moment to blend out of their conversation, she began hefting the basket once again on her front, determined to finish her task in delivering the now dirtied laundry back to the washroom... it was simply too bad that fate did not like her today. Or any other day, really.

At the mention of their past escapade, Miana froze on the spot, cringing as each syllable spoken by the Avora hammered itself in her head, reminding her how stupid her act of spontaneous kindness had been. Her only comfort was how the Avora had hinted of the Chiet's own naivety.

Moments passed, the world moved in some ungodly speed, sluggishly taunting the chimes and hours between now and the future. And how badly did Miana wish it would go faster, stubbornly willing it to forward itself, not wanting to stay frozen in the limbo the three of them created.

"If it makes no difference to you, I'd like to come."

It safe to say that Miana's world practically smashed into pieces, moved her into some sort of indescribable shock that forced her to lose her hold on the basket she clutched, spilling the contents on the dirtied ground. Anything else the Avora said before that was wasted- Miana had simply stopped functioning at that point.

I really really appreciated how true to the lore you play Arandolya. Her pride, her security in her caste are all very well written. This was a brilliant example of the castes. It would be interesting to see how she would react when chastised by an Endal! PM me if you have any questions or concerns.
