The East Wing is the ever-growing, and busiest part of the University of Zeltiva. Built pre-Valterrian, and expanded post, it became the department for more experimental and modern teaching, more specifically - of magic.
Over the decades, it has grown in popularity, now carrying the bulk of students and admissions, leading to the implementation of the College of Scholars. The majority who apply to the University are interested in magical studies of some kind, some travelling from far afield for world class teaching.
Most types of known magic can be studied and practised within the East Wing's classrooms and corridors, from reimancy, to voiding. From shielding, to alchemy in the extensive labs. However, the study is generally at a basic level, weighted towards theoretical research. Students wishing to study and apply advanced magical skills should travel to the appropriate locations for such learning.
Due to the nature of study, it is a well disciplined department, with safety put first and foremost on the agenda. All students face rigorous lessons on the dangers of overgiving, and misuse of magic.
