A lawless town of anarchists, built on the ruins of an ancient mining city. [Lore]

Riverside Isle Park
Description: This four and a half acre forest shrouded isle stands close to the north shore of the river which runs through Sunberth proper, bisecting the city as a whole. It is of interest as after the events of Fall, 511av, Robern Dalanger ordered it converted into a park for the population to use as they saw fit. He ensured its building throughout the winter, all the while keeping the true reasons behind the decision to himself that it was to be a physical reminder to the slum goers on the other side of the river that following his principles and keeping out of his way would only promote prosperity.
As such it is a mixed bag of sorts for Sunberth's population being its only park; yet being a physical sign of Robern's rise to power. Through the trees one can see the northern hills of the old mines, as well as partial views of the town itself in all its decrepit glories.
Staggering vistas of the far off slag heap can be seen nestled on the far side of the slums towards the western hills. Robern's lovely rotting mansion and gallows can be seen to the north as a clear sign to those who wish to betray him. Indeed, much of the park is centered solely on presenting the man's twisted desires to the populace. Just one of the many silent power plays attempting to keep the masses in check should they ever decide to strike at him.
It currently possesses three interesting features amidst its trees and hedges. Atop a small rise lies a circle of stones formed as an ancient Astronomy counter; and then there's the only means of access to it going past the Daggerhand River Docks, The Clockwork Bridge. Last but not least there is a small wading pool Robern had built for those wishing to rest their feet after wandering the many stone gravel paths which wind their ways amongst the woodland isle.
A strange water powered clockwork bridge that rose up from beneath the waters is now the source of many rumors. In actuality it was once used for mining carriages hauled down on tracks long buried below the river's surface. But such an ancient edifice has gone silent for now; its gears silenced, and Robern has utilized it; purporting it's presence as his own creation, all while fearfully layering it's surface with blocks of white wood as a statement he would overcome the past.
In addition to these changes, three iron wrought cages have been hung from its center and Mr. Grubbins usually places prisoners within them to slowly wither away as a warning to those who visit that Robern's reach is long, and powerful.
The daggerhands patrol the area during the day making it relatively safe; though they are not above accosting a woman or two in the park at night to sate their sordid appetites before dumping the body in the river. As such is the case with their fickle nature; people in the park should take heed and simply strive to enjoy themselves... while keeping one eye open at all times.
OOC Notes: PC's are allowed to use this park as they wish for their stories. Feel free to heckle prisoners, use it as a park, etc. .
NPC: Mr. Grubbins Race: Human Age: 58 Job: "Gardener"
Description: One of Libby's first Red Guards, Grubbins took an injury saving her life during the attack which killed Robern's wife. Indeed he was the only survivor from their guards, and fought ferociously to protect Robern's daughter even after being wounded with an arrow to the stomach. Robern has remembered his loyalty ever since.
As he grew older, and less inclined to stay within the usual ranks of the daggerhands, Robern had him educated in the ways of gardening to tend to his mansions personal gardens for his daughter's benefit. A job he still continues to do to this day. He is the main groundskeeper now of this newest park and the one tasked with maintaining it. All while ensuring no one interferes or rescues Robern's hanging prisoners. At any given time, as little as five daggerhands could be on patrol, or more if they're using the isle for practice.
