"Yes" replied Hrair, "and that looks quite nasty, you should get it seen to. It looks like she has done some damage and it doesn't look quite right somehow" Hrair examined the wound closely and shrugged. "Yes, you should definitely get someone who knows what they are doing to have a look at that." The happy go lucky Hrair suddenly looked genuinely concerned for the young enchanter. "It almost looks like...nah" Hrair thought something then stopped. He changed the subject quickly. Scars and writing were not his strong point.
The pair found their way out of the alley and towards the kelp bar.
"guess the first round is on me eh" said Hrair shaking his pocket. "I'm starting to get a taste for this Kelp beer, it's not bad is it? Puts hairs on your chest, makes me feel like I have the strength of ten"
Hrair noticed Hadrian did not look too keen.
"S'ok" reassured Hrair, "I'm paying, and I promise not to cause any trouble tonight"
The pair stepped into the bar and Hrair cast his eye around the place. He did not recognise anyone fortunately. He stepped up to the bar and the young serving wench smiled politely. "Hey up love" said Hrair, his eyes firmly fixed on the wenches chest. "two kelp beers please"
Hrair handed a mug to his companion. Hrair thanked the wench with a wink. She smiled politely and moved off to serve another customer. A rather wisened looking old gentleman with a white beard propping up the end of the bar.
"Say how long did it take you to learn how to do that ice thing, that is a neat trick that might come in handy sometime...is that what they call res? you'll have to teach me sometime..." Hrair paused. "say, you look a bit peaky..." Hrair examined the young enchanter's scar more closely. "you really should get that looked at, it looks sore."
Let those who read this verse consider it profoundly,
Let the profane and the ignorant herd keep away:
And far away all Astrologers, Idiots and Barbarians,
May he who does otherwise be subject to the sacred rite.
