Center of scholarly knowledge and shipwrighting, Zeltiva is a port city unlike any other in Mizahar. [Lore]

Zeltiva has always had its fair share of tempestuous weather. When the bay is calm, the city is truly serene, but when the wind blows off the sea and down the straight, the locals call the resulting effect the Bonesnapper. It is aptly named due to its cold and biting nature. It is for this reason that Zulrav holds significance in Zeltiva. The Storm Shrine, sat on the foothills above the Old Quarter, is a small temple devoted to the deity of storms. Almost bizarre in appearance, the rod striking out from the roof conducts lightning, safely moving electricity away from the temple and buildings below. The architecture was partly inspired by the holds in Avanthal. Only one priest tends to the shrine on a daily basis, but it is open to all who wish to walk up into the foothills and look down upon the city. Inside, there are small statues and depictions of the storm God, as well as small offerings in the form of food bundles and candles. The locals who visit the shrine hope these offerings might placate the weather. The sailors, more so than anyone, prefer calm conditions out in the bay for the safe voyage of ships in and out of the city. |
