![]() Physical Description Nayana stands at about 5'5" and weights roughly 90Ibs, considering herself to be average for her young age. Her hair is medium silver in color, reaching down to her rear, and is rather straight even when she neglects it. Ashen is the color of her skin like other Symenestra, bringing out her gold eyes considerably, with the faint web of grey veins blending in nicely. As with other Symenestra her arms and hands are longer than a humans, ending with black nails that took years to grow. Despite being young Nayana's voice is what some would consider deep for her age, sounded more like an adult than she is but her voice is prone to become sharper when she is upset. The typical silken garments that Symenestra wear are what compose Nayana's wardrobe, not wanting anything greater when the money could be better spent on other things. Secret :
Character Concept Despite her child like appearance and young age, Nayana is rather cynical and dark in nature though by no means is she evil. Knowing just as well as every other Symenestra in Kalinor, Nayana agrees completely with the Harvest and has no argument against it, finding it unfair that other races should thrive while her own race must sacrifice themselves. There is no pity inside her when she thinks of the surrogates, viewing the women as vessels to bring about the next generation of Symenestra, content with the knowledge that instead of her dying another will to continue her family line. To other Symenestra Nayana is typically polite and kind, though towards those of other races as well as half-bloods this kindness vanishes quickly, replaced with tone of mocking and contempt. Racist is a term that applies well to Nayana, as she views Symenestra as a greater race due to how they try to fight for survival while other races seem to have grown soft and weak in their security of safe reproduction. Weaving is one of Nayana favorite past times, her resulting products not nearly as high quality as her mothers but with time she is becoming slowly better at the art. While part of the reason Nayana weaves is because it helps her relax, she also views it as an indirect way to aid Kalinor as more high quality fabrics being exported means the people in the city will receive more income as well. Singing is another one of her hobbies though to a lesser extent as it is less helpful to her race. Once or twice Nayana has gone to where the surrogates are kept and sang in Symenos to them as no one else was around to listen to her, yet her songs to the surrogates are never happy ones, instead hinting towards the fate that awaits them and the hope they will never reclaim. While her talent for aerial dancing is not on the same level as her weaving Nayana enjoys performing the art though has only done so once, focusing on her weaving more though she plans to return to practicing her acrobatics so she can perform better dances. Character History Since she was born Nayana has never left Kalinor, sheltered by the city and knowing very little about the world outside. A surrogate was used to bring her into this world, a concept that Nayana quickly grew up on and became accustomed to, quickly finding that the Harvest was something that needed to be done and that she to would use. Despite what some may think Nayana has not inherited her prejudice and mind frame from her mother or father, neither having told her those of other race were weaker or inferior and instead account it towards the surrogate she was born from. They believe that her outlook on other races and her ability to sing came from the surrogate woman who gave birth to her, as her father cannot sing and both her parents view other races as equal due to the teaching of Viratas. At seventeen Nayana is interested in planning to create her own family, though is not outwardly searching for a companion yet and instead is spending time to develop her own skills in order to aid her future family. Regardless of what her partner may want Nayana will not agree to birthing her own child, refusing to let herself die to continue her family line when another woman could easily take such a role. |
