Physical Description
Vadriel stands about 6'0" and weighs 128lbs. He's got long white hair pulled into a pony tail and bright golden eyes. His claws are not as pronounced as other Symenestran but are still much longer than that of a human. His bones, too, are not as strong as a humans but stronger than that of a full blood Symenestran. His arms are long and his face is slender. Vadriel is handsome in a swash-buckling adventurer sort of way and frequently beds many women with his wit and charm, leaving early the next day, much to their chagrin. This may be because of the absence of his mother during his childhood and watching his father treat other women with the same disrespect. People often think Vadriel is good at heart and will make choices that serve the greater good, but they are wrong. Vadriel thinks only of himself and only does what serves his purposes.
Character Concept
Vadriel has a laid back personality, punctuated by moments of reckless decision making to alleviate his boredom. He tends to come across as cocky, braggadocious, and aloof, boasting much about his impossibly numerous adventures but speaking little about his true past. He's fascinated by adventure, and often chases after dangerous myths and legends with the hopes of making a name for himself. Vadriel has no sense of ethics or morals, and abides by Syliras' law only as far as it suits him. He's infatuated by the high seas and seems like a man with a death wish, drinking far too much and involving himself in too many brawls despite his inherently weak bone structure. However, years of quarells at bars and on the streets have made him an adept, albeit unorthodox, fighter.
Character History
Vadriel was born in the Spring of 490 A.V. in his father's home near the Zeltiva docks. His Symenestran mother, Narissa Durian, was killed in the birthing process and his human father, Wilfred Smith, resented him for it and made no effort to hide how he felt. Still, he let Vadriel remain in his home, feeding him and providing him with clothes to wear. However, Vadriel spent very little time at home, instead choosing to spend his days at the docks, listening to the sailors tell stories and occaisionaly joining them on their voyages. It was there that he earned his nickname, Lightfoot, due to the way he moved easily and quickly about a ship, even on stormy seas. This was due in part to his Symenestran heritage as well his own natural acrobatic talent. At the age of sixteen, Vadriel joined a ship headed for a supposedly uncharted island. The ship crashed before reaching it's destination and after washing up on a shore, he was forced to survive in the wilderness for several weeks before finding a small fishing village. He then returned home, further infatuated with the desire to go off on his own adventures and make his name known throughout the lands. He has spent the better part of the next six years taking part in any and all adventurous endeavors he can catch wind of, with almost all ending in failure.Vadriel has no formal education and is mostly illiterate. However he knows most anything pertaining to sailing and speaks bits and pieces of a few dozen languages. He carries with him always, a pendant that belonged to his mother hung around his neck, a knife tucked into his sleeve, and is rarely found without his steed and companion, Kerdihn, a temperamental Ravok Bloodbane who is hostile to most and only just tolerant of Vadriel.
