Timestamp: Winter 88, 511 AV Time: Just after sunrise Who: Liandra and Kylayia Liandra was tiring of the same view while traveling. She'd been up in the Northern Suvan Sea and got an urge to go south. She'd forgotten how arduous and slow the stretch from the northern to the southern seas were. And now here she was with Kylayia, looking for a stretch of shore that looked safe. She needed a vacation from traveling. And so did Kylayia. He hadn't seen another of his kind in so long. And Liandra was worried that he wasn't socializing enough. A city would be a nice reprieve for the both of them. But Liandra hadn't seen a city for a long while. She knew there were a few dotted around the Suvan, but only knew the location of Syliras. She tapped Kai's neck, signaling for him to rise to the surface. He fluted a joyful reply and obeyed. They breached, Syna's warm embrace enveloping them. She looked around, trying to get her bearings. The waters here were much warmer, so she figured she was in, or at least close to the Southern Seas. Off in the distance, it was clear that there was shore. But it was clouded in fog, and gave off a strange impending doom feeling. She closed her eyes, and whispered the words, "Laviku, Makutsi, Zulrav, please help to guide me through my journey. I hope to find some comfort and relaxation, if you find it fit. Thank you for bringing me this far." Whether it was a gift from Zulrav, or just a random occurrence is unknown, but a gust of wind cleared away a swath of fog. And through that patch, she saw the crest of a massive waterfall. It was among the most beautiful sights she'd ever seen. It looked like a cascade of sapphires and diamonds disappearing into a cloud. As the empty space in the fogcloud drifted, a city built around the waterfall was revealed. It was picturesque, beautiful, and luring Liandra in. She whispered a thanks to the gods, and pointed toward the city. Kylayia took the request and started through the fog. A few chimes later, Liandra was wondering when the fog would end. She thought the city looked small from a distance, but now she realized that it was huge and really far away. "Where do you think it is Ky-- DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!" Kylayia dove beneath the surf just as a small boat passed over where they'd been moments before. Liandra felt as if she were a fish's hair from scraping her back along the bottom. She patted Kylayia in gratitude for saving them both. The pair of them skirted along the bottom of the boat, then appeared up on the other side. Liandra noticed that she was in a bustling port of whatever city this was. Wait. She remembered a city mentioned back in school. It had the Akalak people in it... what was the name of that town? Streamfall? Creekfall? But she couldn't remember, so she shrugged it off. She and Kylayia swam up to a dock. There were several very large and colorful men bustling around. They came in amazing shades of blues, with the occasional purple and green sprinkled in. And they were all muscular, and HUGE! They were a much welcomed improvement on the men back in Charbosi. Even after her fun rendezvous with Wrenmae, these men had several things that he didn't. Muscles, height, and this air about them, it made her look forward to this city. A tall midnight blue Akalak made his way over to her, leaning down over the dock. "Hello there! It has been a while since Laviku has graced our city with such a beauty." He extended a hand down to her. Liandra whispered to Kylayia, asking him to go find somewhere comfy to sleep and to get a bite to eat. She reached up and grasped his hand. He pulled her up onto the dock with seemingly little effort. The strength was definitely alluring. He continued, "Is there anything I can help you with? I have a few fliers here with some information about our fine city." He handed her the fliers, and she replied, "Just one thing..." She felt blood rushing to her cheeks, "What's the name of this beautiful place? I've never seen anything like it!" "This my dear, is Riverfall." |
