General Facts Race: Akvatari Age & Birthday: 22 (Fall 26 of 489 AV) Place of Birth: Abura Present Location: Zeltiva Present Occupation: University Student (Architecture, Morphing Magic), Graphic Artist Physical Characteristics Avaltri has a beautiful face with slightly peculiar nostrils, framed by shoulder-length hair of such dark brown that it often appears black. Her green eyes often give a sad or slightly tired expression, and she does not smile much on her own. However, when she is talking to somebody, her face generally brightens. Avaltri's voice is soft, slightly lower than might be expected on seeing her, and a hearer will notice that she speaks curiously slow - although not as if she were seeking for words; she just articulates slowly and exactly. Her body is of average build and well-proportioned. The butterfly-like wings on Avaltri's back show a mixture of black, green, beige, and entirely translucent parts, while the fur on the lower half of her body is beige with a greyish tinge. The only piece of clothing she wears, regardless of the weather, is a dark turquoise piece of fine cloth that is wrapped to cover her breasts. Psychology Avaltri is gifted, but, being accustomed to achieving things easily, lazy. This is not helped by her lack of drivenness. She has a whole, unimportant lifetime at her disposal to do everything she wants to - there is no need to do it just now. Often keeping to herself, Avaltri does not like being criticized, or pushed, and reacts by avoidance and retreat to unpleasant situations. Many things are just not worth the trouble... However, she does not reject people who should address her. She is of gentle and kind disposition, and happy to help if asked for it. For those who treat her with respect and do not attempt to restrict her and make demands, she can be a reliable friend and source of comfort. And who knows what living among humans may bring with it... Previous Life Avaltri was born the second daughter of her mother. The woman being an accomplished singer, Avaltri and her older half-sister received musical teaching from early on. While her sister took very much after her mother, Avaltri resented singing. She found it gave her too little room to differentiate herself, she felt unsafe by being so easily compared. A brief attempt at musical composition, she gave up soon. It turned out that she was, rather, fascinated with visual shapes, had an acute spatial sense, and was very gifted in reproducing what she had seen. She was therefore eventually given into the tuition of an esteemed old painter, by the name of Neleas, where she received an artistic education in drawing and painting. He was the perfect teacher for her - experienced, kind, and without ambition; or at least not showing any ambition he might have had for her as his student. He just gently led her onto her own path. Drawing many of the buildings in Abura for practice sparked an interest in architecture in Avaltri. But as the numbers of the Akvatari didn't rise, few buildings were being created in Abura today. Neleas advised her that, if she ever wanted to take this route of expressing herself, she should leave Abura and study in Zeltiva, remarking with a winking eye that it would also serve to keep her occupied. Avaltri took up this suggestion. Life was too pointless to just sit around in Abura. Not needing it anymore, Neleas gave his student a portion of the money he had made with his paintings to support her in the city. He warned her, however, never to study drawing under anyone anymore. It would only make her unhappy and derail her from her own path, he said.
