Character Concept (Optional But Recommended)Turran is a young man who believes everyone in the world is identical when they enter the world. However, as soon as they are born the acts they carry out, determines if they are good or bad people. It is a simple way of judging people and their personalities. Turran rarely cracks a smile and is always serious taking many jests at him as insults and quickly loses his temper at them often breaking out into actual fights.
Turran likes practicing his magic and playing around with shield magic in particular. He also likes practicing his skills with a dagger or just reading next to the bay outside Syliras listening to the birds sing. He strongly dislikes any crime committed without justification and acts harshly with those who carry them out. Turran also dislikes people who mock or hurt those weaker than themselves. In his free time, he used to enjoy practicing his magic on rats in the cellar of the luxuriant apartments in his family once owned.
Character History: Turran was born into a rich merchant family, House Aldaine. His first memories where of his father sitting in his high backed chair talking to people who were apparently his business partners. However one day in particular stands out to him, this is the day that he turned 4 and was approached by his father’s adviser Moren Darkstone, a foreigner with a strong accent. He was however father's closest friend. Turran still remembers the exact words Darkstone said that day, "Turran, come here for a moment and let me see your eyes." Turran you seem a very intelligent young child and I have a suspicion that I want confirmed, so I must ask have you ever had ever felt any strange feelings inside of you such as tingling or pressure?" When Turran tentatively responded, "Sometimes maybe, or um well yes." Darkstone joyfully clapped his hands and asked Turran to try something for him
he told him to twirl his hands around, and say the word "djed" when Turran did this a strange
sparkling appeared on his hands then quickly faded away leaving no trace Turran smiled at the sparkly lights but still had no idea what was going on with the court wizard
however, he declared in a happy voice, "That is it! I shall take young Turran on as a apprentice immediately." Turran’s poor mother who was still flustered from being ignored
earlier said, "No!" no son of mine shall practice that vile art you people call 'Magic.'" Moren simply said "shouldn’t we ask the child?" and with said child standing right there his mother had no
choice but to agree.
"Turran," the adviser said softly, "would you like
to learn more about magic?"
"Can I make more sparkly lights?" Turran asked
quietly.
Darkstone smiled and said, "yes of course, as many
as you want."
So from that day onward Turran saw more of his mentor Moren than he did of his mother and father combined, training with him reading with him and sometimes even dining with him when they where in the middle of a rather difficult lesson. Turran was a fast learner and quickly learned the basics of many magics but loved and progressed most quickly in shielding and Projection becoming competent at shaping raw Djed into barriers and moving stuff with his mind. Once even trapping a rat inside a bubble until his
mentor forced him to release it.
Then came one day when Turran was 23 that Moren came to him with a very solemn face and said, "Turran, something very bad is going to happen tonight and I want you to go to the gardens and wait until I come get you ok?""But what is going to happen?" Turran asked back. "never mind that." said Moren, "Just go quickly before it starts." He then pushed Turran gently out the door leaving him no choice but to go. However before the
door was fully shut behind him he heard the clash of steel inside and the shout of, "Traitors!" and then the heavy oaken door slammed shut and all noise was cut off.
Now Fearing for his life Turran picked the lock to his door
from the outside and filled a pack with the essentials,
some food, his robes and underclothes, a tent that he had in a old chest, flint and steel, a eating knife he found in his bedside table, and a water skin. He grabbed his iron staff his father had given him and then ran back outside to the stables mounted his windrunner named Allaya and galloped to the garden where his brothers Jase and Arcturus
had agreed to meet incase something ever happened. He found them similarly outfitted and together they left to find a place to stay and figure out a plan.
