Shadowfang Physical Information Zith Male 10 years old Born on 13th of Summer, 502AV Languages: Fluent: Zithanese Basic: Common Description Spring 512AV : Shadowfang stands at six feet tall and weighs around one-hundred forty pounds. His fur is light grey, giving the appearance that it is actually skin from far away. His wings and hair are dark black. His eyes are a dull red and his claws extend to about one and a half inches. Summer 512AV : Shadowfang is now an adult. While he has not grown taller, he has grown more muscular but still has a slightly scrawny build. His hair has grown to a great length, possibly because of his becoming an adult, possibly because of the mist in the Spires. For Every Positive There Is A Negative Shadowfang wears bandages on his left forearm to cover numerous scars from an incident with overgiving. When he received these scars, the nerves and muscles in leading to his left hand were damaged, making movement in that hand delayed. He cannot feel pleasure of pain with that hand, also a result of the nerve damage. Character Concept Personality: Shadowfang is more "civilized" than most Zith. Instead of relying solely on his instincts, he looks around, observes, and learns in order to sate his natural curiosity. He is quiet and reserved and does not talk unless he has something important to say. He does not tend to associate with other Zith and mainly tries to avoid people of other races. Being hated and disliked wherever he went, he has learned to hate or at least ignore everyone. His face is usually expressionless as he is always deep in thought. If something piques his interest, he takes on a more curious expression and pokes and prods at whatever it is until he learns all that can from it. He prefers to avoid unnecessary battles, opting to run or fly away instead, but will be overtaken by instinct and attempt to kill his opponent if forced to. Unlike most Zith, he wears clothing along with the traditional wrapping his wings around himself in public. He is fiercely loyal to anyone he considers a friend, teacher, or master. Likes: Learning, Being left alone, Darkness Dislikes: Most people, Noise, Over-excited Zith haters Character History Pre-Creation: Born in Xy in Fall 502AV, Shadowfang was a rare only child. While other Zith children were playing and fighting, Shadowfang preferred to spend his time learning from the slaves and reading books that some slaves had brought with them. He grew attached to a particular slave, a very old Jamoura named Borth, who had taught him how to read. Borth had a small "library" of articles that he had written himself on flat pieces of rock and the occasional scrap of paper. Using these resources, Shadowfang managed to learn how to Void (with help from Borth), learned about other places, and-most importantly-learned what life was like outside of Xy. His love of reading and learning rather than fighting made him the target of abuse from other Zith his age, which he never understood. He was forced to fight on several occasions, but would always try to take to the air to run away. When these instances happened, he would always return to Borth for comfort and understanding. He would always ask Borth why, if Shadowfang's race were so curious, did the other Zith torment him, to which Borth would always respond that that was the one question he did not have an answer to. At age nine, he decided to leave Xy, feeling that he did not have much in common with his fellow Zith, and went out to explore the vast world he never knew he lived in.
