Posting Music

I usally listen to meditation or clasical music, though if i am just doing more casual writing Ill switch on indie. ^^

Parov Stelar is damned good music to listen to when writing. Highly recommend it.

I have recently found with Lessira that listening to Opera really inspires me to go big with the wording. Of course, Phantom of the Opera is my favorite so far, but we will see if I like others soon too.

Trance and drum and bass oddly enough. Don't tend to listen to either except when I'm posting, I think it's something to do with the rhythm and that there's not much else to concentrate on, makes it nice and easy to let it drop into the background as I write.

Oh and Chase and Status is the preference at the moment for some reason.

Depends on what I'm writing. If it is a combat oriented post I generally listen to Hardcore (punk genre). If it is a combat scene with lots of anger and hint of dread and fear I generally turn to death metal like Fleshgod apocalypse, Cannibal Corpse, ect. If I'm doing purely whimsical, like a dream sequence, it is either a mix of world music, Juno Reactor, Enigma, E nomine, Within Temptation, Naked City (Avant Garde) etc.

Mainly I listen to whatever is on that I like. But what I like is not the usual nowadays. I love Lorena mckennit (did I spell that right?) and dead can dance. Dead can dance is an awesome group. It's not punk, metal, rock, rap, or any of those other, in my opinion, crappy excuses that pass for music nowadays. Though there are some good songs that occasionally come up from those genres, but they are few and far between. I guess there is one okay punk band out there, and oddly enough, it has a bag pipe player in it. O.O

Hmm.

When writing, my music gravitates from slow, dreadful music like Frank's Death(a theme from 28 days later), to bouncy dubstep like the Zelda remakes by Ephixa. If I'm not, however, listening to either of the two, I'm listening to some other variation of dubstep, rock, or R&B

For me, it depends as who I am writing from.

For instance, I write listening to Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, and Carrie Underwood when I'm posting as Chamaeleon.

Yaotl gets to listen to Within Temptation, Disturbed, and even Adam Lambert. Jillian (I'd Give My Heart) is a good one when I'm writing. I may also throw on some Evanescence, maybe Three Days Grace, Apocalyptica, or even Billy Talent. For her I also bust out the wubwubwub, because the grittiness of the dubstep just talks to me.

For the OTHERS, which includes Leaf, I will listen to whatever is playing in the hopes of discovering a certain genre that gives me the motivation for them. I've listened to classical, metal, indie, opera, and even busted out some Nicki Minaj and Eminem. Leaf is more of a classical kind of guy, I've found from this experimentation.
