Though evocation was an interesting subject - Canrehne did not like stopping at just that. Even after setting the book down, she sat there - giving it some thought. "Even though the book is written by a self-taught Spiritist and his ways, it can, infact, help me develop my own ways of Spiritism. I wish I could find writings of Vuld Shaik have only heard of them.. perhaps I should visit the University, I'm sure they'll be able to help me out." Canrehne though out loud, smiling a tad. Perhaps she should visit the university and try find a book other than Magic and I that was written by the Alahean wizard, Vuld Shaik. From what Canrehne heard, Vuld Shaik's writings were very valued before the Valterrian, and some were hard to come across.
However, his autobiography which describes how inhumane the treatment of mages was; Magic and I was a quite common book. Even though she has read Magic and I as a child, she couldn't really remember it at this very moment, due to a lot of time passing since she last even saw the covers of the book. Though, she was quite interested in writing a book herself. Standing up before walking to the chest, she bit her lower lip, kneeling down before looking into it. Reaching for the ink vial and one of the quills, she stood up, walking over to the table before seating herself.
Picking up an empty book she purchased recently, she opened it up before opening the ink vial, setting it into the top-left corner of the table, dabbing the tip of the quill into the ink vial, starting to write on the first page of the book.
The Weeping Spirits
It is 512 After the Valterrian. Through the centuries, mages have been mistreated. Inhumane behavior was shown to them because they have been practicing advanced arts that not everybody could master. Most of them were born to be mages. Some decided to take the path whilst growing up. Some still use melee weaponry and magic. Some are specialists in the field of Personal Magic, some in the field of World Magic. Rare ones, worshippers of a certain God have Gnosis marks. Gnosis marks are signs of some kind of a blessing. However, they can be a curse as well. This was a sign that one was devoted to the Gods. Doesn't matter which, but the one was a devoted individual. Though I am not one of these, I am a mage, training myself in the fields of Malediction, Spiritism, Animation and Alchemy. I am somewhat an influential individual in the art of Malediction. Mages are still mistreated throughout Mizahar, even though their numbers are increasing. I, myself, am a mage. Just like you probably are, my dear reader. Mages.. mages are rather interesting. They can help you, make you their friend, introduce you to new people, Summoners can literally make you new friends and enemies, they can help you against ghosts and they can mix potions for you. But there is one thing they can't. They can not stand mistreatment. It is wrong, and it is something most mages frown upon. Judging one by the practice of their arts is like judging one because of their race. Plain unfair, simple and primitive. Uneducation at it's finest, I'd say. Usually, people aren't fond of mages practicing their arts in public. Nor in private, either! People frown upon it, they don't find it natural. However, we, find it natural. We are manipulating the surroundings, we're making the best out of it for (usually) the greater good of Mizahar. |
Smiling, Canrehne stopped, closing the vial of ink before setting the quill down. Leaving the book open, she stood up - walking over to the chest before closing it. "I assume this is good so far!" she chortled upon saying that, now taking a hike to her bed before laying down, looking at the ceiling as her respiratory rate slows down. Shortly after, Canrehne falls asleep, dreaming about the success of her book. |
