27th day of Spring, 512

Izaya walked calmly down the street, ignoring most of the people and events around him. Slavers sold slaves, a few hawkers for nearby businesses shouted their wares, some shady looking men ran down the street followed closely by some heavily armed paid guards, and whores sifted through the crowd in little to no clothing. All together, a dully mediocre day in Sunberth. It bored Izaya. What really interested him were the NIght Eyes. Obviously, he would never make that obvious, but he did feel quite intrigued by the secretive street gang. And, of course, if he was intrigued, he absolutely had to find out. And so that was what he was pondering. How would he safely uncover any information about the Night Eyes? Normally, he would have used Hypnotism, but the city had recently grown suspicious of wizards of any kind, and he didn't want to be burned as a witch.

The berthian barbarian patrolled the streets of sunberth looking for any signs of amusement any oppurtinities to make his day. He had grown tired of his company and ended up walking alone stirring for trouble but very few would dare to take that chance. He missed his friend who was in hiding and since his dissapearance he had been placed in charge of the guild. Their numbers had multiplied like sewer rats, which was a good thing but that came at a cost of his sanity. Now he just needed some lone time to blow off some steam.

Up the street a man walked with all confidence of the world behind him, a strut that peeved the half blood myrian who began a devious thought. Cade liked gambling and especially when ones life was at stake and maybe this chump will play along or..... the savage's hand moved to the hilt of his sword... he could always be forced to play. A wolfish grin formed upon the warrior as his svefran blue eyes zeroed on Izayah.

Cade cut into the path of his prey making it very clear that he was there for him " We play!" The barbarian's deep toned myrian accent bellowed deep from his gut and out from his throat as he his sword was released from its sheath. This was sunberth and not if any cared when the barbarian drew his longsword with the skill of an expert of death dealing, none sides the person he was making conversation with. "Now that i have your attention, I give you three rolls of the dice, you beat me in any of those three times you win my jewlry and my purse. You lose all three times I get to take your life here and now."

Cade was not asking, he was forcing Izayah in a game of life or death. He pulled a single six sided dice from his pocket, a grin from ear to ear was on him as he played the dice against his ring. If cade lost he would only lose his purse of 15 mizas and his unattractive ring, if Izayah lost..... well he would lose his life at Cade's blade that was drawn upon him.

"highest wins, Ties are re rolls. Once the round is complete you will slowly pick the dice up again and gently pass it to me, or you die. You run... you die. You fight.... you die" Those were the rules and with that Cade started the round, tossing the dice against the closed wall to his right watching the dice bounce on the ground coming close to his victim's feet.

The bone dice faced up at five, Cade grin as death might be coming soon. "Your roll, pick the dice up slowly and toss away"

OOC: Thought i give you a awesome intro into sunberth. This is the site i am using to roll dice: http://invisiblecastle.com/. You should be able to beat me since the odds are in your favor.

Izaya was startled out of his pondering by a large man he had noted previously. He seemed rather brutish, but at Izaya's current ability, that was still a threat. He intended, sometime soon, to learn to fight better. The man then "asked" him to play a game. Izaya had no illusions about the truth. If he declined, he knew would either be forced to, or possibly killed on the spot. Either way, it left no room to politely refuse. So Izaya held the man's gaze and said confidently "Sure, why not?"

For a moment, as the man rolled, Izaya examined his Aura. It took an embarrassing amount of concentration, but he found nothing of any particular use there. The flickering in the light Izaya saw from the man--this was how he generally saw Auras--showed him nothing but perhaps mild irritation, though he couldn't tell if it were towards him or something else entirely. Izaya frowned and let the ethereal light fade from his vision just as the man announced his roll. It made Izaya nervous, but he didn't let it show. Even if this turned out poorly for him. He felt somewhat confident that he could escape this encounter with his life. He hoped. Still maintaining a veneer of calm, he reached for the dice slowly and when he got it, rolled it against the wall.

His stomach lurched when he saw it stop on a two. He hoped the rest of the game didn't go this way. If it did, he was sure to lose.

The barbarian chuckled at the pathetic role his would be victim tossed. " Luck seems not to be in your favor this day" Cade pointed out the obvious as he lowered himself to pluck the dice off the ground. His blade still raised and ready to strike the man down if he made an attemp to flee or fight. He gave the bones a quick toss bouncing them off the wall with the pips facing up three. " You life is quickly coming to a end, you better hope Ovek has your back" He snarled in delight. Either outcome to this was going to please the sadistic warrior. His predatorial grin stayed upon his face as he waited for stranger to toss his second chance at life.

Izaya held his breath as he slowly reached for the dice. Three was a nice lower number. He could probably beat that. He casually tossed it against the wall, smiling. There was, he realized, one possible way to get out of this no matter what his roll was. Without looking at it, he commented, " I certainly hope he doesn't. It would be quite difficult to have any fun if I'm being watched over by a god at all times. You should start rolling higher, at this rate you'll never stay higher than me." He hoped this didn't push the other man over the edge of killing him right there, but if everything worked right, he hoped lack of any sort of response would either make the man lose interest or make him interested enough not to kill him.

When he finally looked at his roll, he had to try hard to keep his face straight. It was also a three.

Cade smirked at the man's truism and he probably didn't know how much the barbarian understood. His roll of three was a improvement but he was yet to beat him in the game of dice. " Talk all you want, you have on more roll to beat me or we make you a little top end lighter" The half blood myrian pointed to Izaya's throat for dramatic effect.

Cade then went for his dice one more, giving it another quick toss and coming up with a two. A smile formed upon his face, this was a low number and if this man failed his luck against that that there would be no guilt in killing him on the spot.....even if the barbarian new how to feel that such emotion. " Last toss!" He reminded, gripping his sword now with both hand and ready to strike with such power that he was known to cleave men in two.

Postby Apos on March 22nd, 2012, 9:15 pm

A sunny day in Sunberth gave Apos the initiative to relieve himself of his safehouse and take a stroll throughout the roughneck community. He paced out of his door, looking down the alley from which his residence birthed him, and walked into the musty streets. He could smell the acid of the alcoholic beverages being gourged in the bar across the street, and the enticing wafts of the dining hall a black down from his location. He took a left turn and strolled down the street, ignoring spice dealers and pushing prostitutes out of the way. He rounded another corner, and watched the eyes of eaves droppers and purse snatchers as he continued to cooly walk down the street breathing deeply as he looked into the deep blue sky enjoying the day.

The Myrian warrior, saw a couple of men throwing a dye in the distance. One possessing the look of a normal patron, and the other a more vicious appearance of perhaps...''Another Myrian?' And in Sunberth of all places. It was pleasant, but he couldn't automatically assume that their blood would bind friendship. Cautiously he walked up to the pair, his eyes carefully watching them, as he spoke announcing a passive introductive tone.

"No token, on a gambler's table? Something tells me the winnings of this wage aren't of a normal consumption."

Apos stood there, wearing a simple black tank top, showing the upper-top portion of his tattoo like gnosis mark on his chest, and the tribal like tattoos that ran the length of his left arm. Black pants, fitted his legs, and black boots to cover his feet.

Izaya reached down for his last roll. A two should be easy enough to beat, but...there was no way to be sure. Just as he was about to roll, the other man showed up. Thinking quickly, Izaya rolled the dye just as the man began to talk. If he moved quick, he hoped to use the momentary distraction to run off in case of a poor roll. But when the dye came to a stop, Izaya was relieved to see a four. Izaya kept his veneer of calm still. He shrugged in response to the roll. Then he turned to the newcomer. "What would give you that impression? Nothing was to be won but this man's purse and his ring there." He made sure this was a obvious jab at the man he had gambled with. Then he held out his hand for his winnings.

The half blood myrian sheathed his sword, over joyed that the man before him won the gamble. It had been two seasons since Ovek had blessed him with his cursed ring and now he was finally relieved of its bond. It took the barbarian to muscle a unfortunate man into playing a game of dice, but he was now free and the curse was not his problem anymore.

Cade ripped the ring off from his finger and placed it into the man's palm along with emptying his purse of twenty gold mizas. " You earned it!" He said with pride that could totally confuse those that were watching for moments before he had sword drawn upon the man threatening his life for a gamble of dice. Now that he lost he was the happiest clam in the sea. "May ovek piss on your parade now" He chuckled giving him a quick pat on the shoulder " Come now, since you won my purse you buy drinks".

He turned towards the direction of the pig foot's tavern and blocking his way was a myrian. The jovial happiness he was feeling being relieved of his belongings to the debt of the game had drastically changed. His demeanour became sour as his right hand felt for the hilt of his sword, his grin turn to a murderous show of fangs.

"What do you want, lapdog of myri?" The barbarian growled in myrian tongue, his blue eyes giving away that he was halfblood and reason to his obvious distain for the myrians for ones not pure were often shunned from their society and most of the time in violent action.

Izaya's Winnings :
Ovek's Lucky Ring: A magical ring that cannot be sold, stolen, lost, or given away. The only way the ring can be removed from Izaya's possession is if he loses the ring in a bet in a game of chance, gambling. This includes dice, cards, or betting on fighters in a blood sport. The ring is known to be more of a curse than not, starting on the 43rd of spring, the power awakens and "Bad Luck" tends to happen to the owner more often than it should. A slip while climbing stairs, the crack of a well cared-for weapon, or mysterious disappearance of a day's rations or a few coins, etc. The number of "Bad Luck" accidents are rare, but are only addition to the standard unluckiness of the owner. After much time passes, the Ring's power grows in both number of occurrences, and violent accidents. Changing possession relieves previous owner, and starts all over in its process for the new owner.

As the two finished the game, Apos watched as the larger man put his sword away and give the other man his winnings. As they turned and saw Apos, he felt something different in the atmosphere. As if what could have been friendly banter, was squashed under Apos' boot, making way for a union much more negative confrontation. Apos saw the man's hands rise to the hilt of his sword. He looked to his eyes, and saw blue, cold, snapping eyes. Eyes with a history behind them, as well as a meaning. He was Half-Myrian. A testament of the savage like energy emulating from his persona.

"Hmm." Apos lightly growled to himself in that deep, raspy tone so few actually get to hear nowadays.

He studied the half-Myrian's stature, his body, his defensive nature, the fangs of his mouth. Apos tilted his head to the right and spoke saying; "Well..." He trailed off, shifting the weight from his left leg to his right, as he looked into the distance then brought his own cyan eyes to the blue ones before him. "How much of a lapdog could I be, if I wasn't at my masters feet or in the presence of her home?"

It was true. Apos was miles away from Taloba, and to his own choosing at that. He didn't carry the attitude that the one before him did, but he was no means a pawn of anyone. Apos wasn't a man of enough emotion to carry the racism of Taloba all the way to Sunberth. No. There wasn't enough room in this city to add something like that. He knew why the hate brewed so suddenly however. Myrians who weren't full-blooded were shunned from Myri's jungles. Those who are allowed to stay had proven their right to be in Taloba, and the elders would overlook their lesser genetics. However, something in Apos said that the man before him didn't get that chance.
