History:
Oddball was born in a clan of zith, all of them working, hunting, being simple ziths, living the lives they were suppose to. When she was born, she was immediately different, she did not enjoy hunting like the rest of her race, and she had lighter fur than anyone in her tribe. Most ziths would go out of their way, attempting to bring in the largest haul of food, and bringing back several slaves to build their community just a little bigger before abusing their bodies and killing them. Oddball found a huge distaste, finding it horrible that her people would kill and feed on other intelligent species, making themselves seem no better than wild animals. She kept her thoughts to herself until she decided to leave during sunlight, when all of her clan slept, making it easy for her to leave without anyone making a scene.
Venturing out, Oddball quickly learned how most other races distrusted her, found her to have the appearance of a monster, as her people proudly wore. It wasn’t until someone confronted her that one of the humans actually learned that she was not there for hunting purposes, she was there to learn from them. This brought shock and rumors throughout the city of Zeltiva, never have they met a zith that was so kind, seeking for knowledge the rest of her race would have found useless. After speaking with several citizens, her given nickname became slightly popular, as the zith looking for knowledge in medicine and healing.
Oddball was eventually told of a mystical rumor, a rumor of an island of pure white, inhabited with white women of unnatural healing abilities. This rumor sparked her interest, so as quickly as she could, she thanked the man for his information and rushed to the nearest library. There, Oddball quickly learned more, the island was known simply as Konti Island as the women were known as Konti. They were a race of white haired women that lived especially long lives and birthed only Konti girls for children. Their Island is white, even the trees and there flora, giving it a ghostly like appearance, intriguing several but frightening some other sailors. Reading into it more, she learned of one boat that sailed to and from Zeltiva that claims to go there regularly. Eager to get there, she placed the book back in its location, thanked the book keeper, and ran off to the docks where the boat was already sitting. She looked at the odd looking boat, wondering how long it had been sitting there, and impressed with its inviting appearance. With few words spoken, she looked for the man she first met, to introduce her to the captain, to keep peace and refrain from conflict. They spoke quietly, as though to keep the men aboard from hearing them, and shook each other’s hands before her acquaintance left her there. The captain approached her and said “So, you’re the zith wishing to learn of medicine huh? Well your on the right boat, nice to meet you Oddball.” With that, he stuck out his hand, waiting for her to shake it, as she did, he kept his smile, the crew eased up slightly, and they prepared for their long journey to Konti Island. |
