Brodon backed a few steps towards the door and called the innkeeper's name. There was an angry reply about broken doors and Brodon winced and sighed, "I am fearing to ask if you can be going into back alley for getting clothes that is left there. I am being very sorry about the door, my friend."
There was a harsh laugh, "Why, OF COURSE!" the sarcasm was withering, "After you frighten away all my customers, what else have I to do but run your errands? Perhaps when the guards arrive, THEY will want drinks!"
Guards? Brodon grimaced, 'Of course there would be guards.' he cursed to himself, 'Mahib, the innkeeper would not call them, but surely one or more of the customers would. WE need to settle this now.'
He turned back and looked from one man to the other as he spoke. "None of us is needing the city guard-men to be getting into being part of this, am I being correct?" he looked at the Dhani, "I think it was me you were meaning to hit, yes. I am needing to know why you try to kill me if we are to be coming to deal."
