The Blue Gem is a lot more than just a boarding house or hotel for aquatic residents in Riverfall. It acts as a high-end meeting place and community center for the Konti, Charoda, and Akontak who frequent its doors. Made of glass, wood, and fancy stone, The Blue Gem screams 'posh' in all things. Having a large Inn, complete with restaurant and bar, The Blue Gem is built into the side of the cliff below the water line is spectacular. Arms raidate off the central areas in the form of corridors that lead to all sorts of rooms and apartments scattered throughout the north side of the Plunge Pool Bay. The Blue Gem also has a large 'Meeting' room where parties and namely weddings are held. Denizens of Riverfall that cannot breathe underwater are welcome in this facility as well and often find the views spectacular because sometimes sometimes whole walls, ceilings or floors are made of skyglass courtesy of the cities Priestess of Zintilia. The Blue Gem is something of a tourist sight and is well known both in and out of Riverfall. Rooms, suites, and apartments are for rent at the usual rate found throughout the bay some having floor, ceiling or walls made of skyglass that holds out the water of the bays. The rooms and apartments that are available and have parts that spill out into the bay often have a water entrance in the form of a pressurized shielded pool in the floor of the room. Though aquatic species are given first priority while non-water breathers are taken in as space arises and only if the Konti, Miss Nauti, who runs the place likes them. She's been known to turn people down. As a hostess and hotel manager, Nautilus has found her calling in life and generally meets and greets anyone who deems to stay at her place.
