Here is the Shrine to Rak'keli :) please let me know if something needs to be changed or that I need to add anything and I will certainly change it.
The Shrine to Rak'keli
Image

Located on the Medical Petal, the Shrine to Rak’keli is a natural hall made of vines, cared and cultivated by the gentle Jamoura, Kesha. This shrine is considered a natural phenomena in the Spires, and most think it was an act of Rak'keli to preserve the plants growing there. The outside is covered with honeysuckles, sending a sweet fragrance throughout the Medical Petal and housing the garden found inside. Inside, one can find rows and rows of carefully cultivated medicinal herbs and flowers, some only found inside these vine walls. Kesha takes care of all the plants here, and her knowledge of them is never questioned.

Many come to the Shrine to study and to pray to Rak'keli, and some come to take some of the plants used in the clinic nearby under the watchful eye of Kesha. It is a quite respite to many Spires citizens, some coming just to breath in the cleansing air that seems to fill the room. Others that are sick come and their conditions seem to improve as they kneel before the alter to pray to the Goddess.

Since the Djed Storm, much of the Shrine has been ravaged, most of the plants strewn throughout the hall. Kesha works tirelessly to restore the place to its former glory, mending the vine walls as best as she can and replanting many of the plants that were destroyed. The one bright spot that was not damaged was the alter of gardenias at the end of the hall, the sunlight fixed on it as if Rak'keli is watching Kesha and the others working to fix the Shrine.

NPC
ImageName: Kesha
Race: Jamouran female
DoB: 40th Spring, 162AV
PoB: The Spires
Skills: 67 herbalism, 48 gardening, 33 medicine, 25 teaching, 17 meditation

History: A rather soft spoken Jamouran, Kesha is the keeper of the Shrine to Rak’keli, supplying many of the plants used on the Medical Petal. Devoting her life to the art herbalism, Kesha spent many of her years studying the natural flora of the Spires. Many say that she can tell what kind of plants are around her just by listening to their leaves or petals rustle in the wind. If asked, she denies this little rumor with a shake of her head and a knowing smile, never actually commenting on the matter.

In her younger years, she stumbled upon a natural garden high in the treetops, the floor made of mossy loam and home to many medicinal plants that were unique to all of Mizahar. This natural wonder seemed to be protected by vines that created a natural hall, sunlight filtering through the vines and flowers and centering on a cluster of white flowers near the end of the hall. Kesha was in awe of the place, and decided to cultivate and care for the place, in the end dedicating her time and talents in service to Rak’keli. As she took care of the garden, many came to visit and study the plants that grew there, often staying for hours and asking her advice on each plant before going to pray at the feet of the white flowers near the end of the hall. Not long after that, Kesha’s garden was soon named the Shrine to Rak’keli and is still cared for by her to this day.

The Lollipop Stop
Image

Jitter and Tina developed the Lollipop Stop store in the summer of 512 AV after traveling from Alvadas. The store itself is relatively large. This is because it is necessary to accommodate large Jamoura and still showcase all the sweets. The building is located on the outer petals, between the Sweetest Stings and Kashal's Kulinary.

Upon entering the store, one would automatically be assaulted by the smell. Chocolate, mint, honey, and so many more different flavors cause the mouth to water. A square counter is directly in the middle of the store, almost always occupied by an employee. On top of the counter, lies the candy Tina normally reserves for children. Shelf by shelf, the sweets line the walls, row upon row. They are organized first by flavor, then by color. For example the candy made of mint would be organized from darkest to lightest. Near the entrance, barrels are filled to the rim daily with candy.

One may also find the goods to make candy here. The store works hands in hand with Sweetest Stings for fresh honey.

NPCs
ImageName: Tina
Race: Human, Mixed (Human/Vantha)
DoB: Summer 20th, 482 AV (30)
PoB: Zeltiva
Title: Candy Store Owner
Skills:
-Cooking (50)
-Leadership (63)
-Negotation (36)
-Gardening (26)
-Food Preservation (33)

-1 mark from Bala (Cultivation)

[Appearance]
Tina has the looks of both sides of her family. She has her height and curves from her mother, while she was blessed with the Vantha looks from her father. Tina towers over others at a surprising height of six foot. Jet black hair holds no highlights a true Vantha would have. Large eyes surrounded by multiple eyeshadows do not change color. A caramel complexion glows. Tina can usually be found looking like she just rolled out of a pantry: covered in flour or having some type of candy stuck to her.

[Personality]
Sugary and sweet like a honey sucker perfectly describes Tina. She is nice to the bone and tends to be very girly. Children have a soft spot for Tina and she often slips them a piece of candy upon their visits. Business is conducted professionally and she had been known to negotiate someone into buying more than enough sweets for their lifetime. Never one to tell a secret, especially her recipes!, Tina can come off as tight-lipped when needing information. She adores Jitter and there are rumors that the two are more than friends.

[History]
Tina was born in Zeltiva. There, she studied cooking and a variety of skills that come with it. Settling down at the tender age of twenty, she soon discovered her body was incapable of children. Her husband was left behind as she fled the miserable fate. Alvadas seemed the perfect place to settle: it was mysterious and she could keep her secrets close to her heart. Wanting to be close to the children but remain true to herself, Tina started planning for a candy shop. The plans were never set into motion, but she did meet Jitter on the way to perfecting her skills. Tina met a Jamoura one day and became enraptured by the race. In the summer of 512 AV, the pair moved to the Spires to start the candy shop. Jitter, upon passing her skills in the kitchen, took over while Tina ran the store itself.

ImageImageName: Jitter
Race: Kelvic (Hummingbird)
DoB: Summer 18th, 511 AV (1 year)
PoB: Alvadas
Title: Candy-Maker
Skills:
-Cooking (60)
-Food preservation (45)
-Socializing (26)
-Gardening (21)
-Unarmed Combat (15)

[Appearance]
Jitter, in Hummingbird Form, weighs little more than two grams. A line of white decorates his all black body, from his back leg to his hip and down his tail in a stripe. In human form, Jitter carries over many traits. His hair is pure black, as are his eyes. He is lanky and appears to have no muscle. A pointed nose hints at Jitter's animal side. Strangely, he seems to have no sense of smell, but can see exceptionally well. Jitter's heart beats three times as fast as a normal human's.

[Personality]
Jitter is a ball of energy. He is always moving. Whether this is from the constant sugar intake (nearly eight times an hour!) or a trait of his kelvic nature, is unknown. When a customer comes into the store, Jitter has been known to entrap them in a gossiping conversation. Jitter is easily bribed by anything sugary. He adores flowers, candy, and flying. Though easy-going, Jitter is extremely protective of his bondmate, Tina. As the two have been bonded since Jitter left the nest, literally, he has picked up a few traits from her. These include having affection for children and keeping secrets to himself.

[History]
Born in Alvadas, Jitter made friends with a wide variety of people. He was known for being able to deliver news quickly and efficiently. The gossiping about such news was ignored. He knew something about almost everyone. Jitter's obsession with sugar first brought him into contact with Tina. The Vantha female had been trying to develop a new candy and spotted the hummingbird trying to sneak closer. Using the sugary sweet as a bribe, she convinced him to stay around and learn from her. Given Jitter had only been out of the nest for less than half a season, he soon grew attached. The pair bonded before Jitter was a season old. The pair moved to the Spires and opened a candy store in the summer of 512 AV. Jitter is the cook.

Save Shurk for me? I can pull from the threads as well as his old performance in more laid back settings. I won't have a final draft until the conclusion of your Quests, to make sure I include as much of his character as possible.

Also, did you have anything in mind for the Shrine to Navre?

ImageName: Torkatch
Race: Human
DoB: Fall 56th, 468 AV
PoB: Ravok
Title: Poacher
Skills:
•Unarmed Combat (78)
•Weapon: Blowgun (56)
•Hunting (65)
•Tracking (45)
•Wilderness Survival (89)

•1 mark of Nysel (Ennervism)
•1 mark of Wysar (Evantia)

[Appearance]
Torkatch stands at five foot nine. He is thin, but muscular. Long, black hair halts abruptly middle back and is usually littered with bones or feathers, if not both. A necklace made of an assortment of teeth hangs proudly around his neck. Scars dance on his bare torso, some old and white and others red and puckered angrily. Hunting leathers cover the rest of him and shoes made of hide keep his feet silent. He is never far from his blowgun or the other assortment of weapons he uses.

[Personality]
Confident and determined, Torkatch is not an individual to cross. He comes off as very intimidating. Secrets are not appreciated, though the man himself holds plenty close. Grudges are remembered and promises are kept. The man obviously calculates every move he makes and it shows in his eyes. One who does not know him may call Torkatch bloodthirsty, but he is not. He enjoys the fun of toying with a prey; enjoys the power of playing gods. However feral he may seem, Torkatch does have standards. He will not harm a child, but has no problem scaring the life out of them. The crippled are to be considered useless until proven otherwise. Living things are to die, but when they do, it should be quick unless there is a specific reason otherwise. Lastly, do not push the gods.

[History]
Torkatch grew up in Ravok under his father's stern care. He learned to dislike almost all forms of authority and showed it in multiple ways, mainly violence. After a particularly nasty fight, Torkatch was kicked out of the only house he had known at the tender age of twenty-two. With no where to go and a city full of enemies, he fled into the wilderness with all he owned on his back. Making a living was hard, but Torkatch had always been a very determined individual and soon adapted to the harsh lifestyle of traveling. To survive, and for fun, he began to poach animals. He had been known to do things such as hunting bears only for their nails or reindeer only for their horns.

Arriving in the Spires, Torkatch continued his poaching. The Hahk'Shatara, while on patrol, discovered an unused Bobcat carcass with Torkatch at its side. He was sentenced to being forgotten from the Spires. Nearly a year later, he stumbled upon the city again. The Hahk'Shatara proposed an uneasy truce; Torkatch would not come into the city or he would be forgotten again, and all meat from the animals he hunts would go directly to the city's food. Torkatch would need to take whatever he wanted from the corpse before alerting the Hahk'Shatara where the body was located. He agreed and the two separate sides have survived for nearly two years with the treaty.

[The Spires] The Suggestion Box

Postby Lixue on June 19th, 2012, 6:07 pm

ImageName: Dersha
Race: Jamoura
DoB: Fall 16th, 182 AV (330 years old)
PoB: The Spires
Title: Daughter of Marn
Skills:
•Leadership (51)
•Politics (43)
•Negotiation (61)
•Rhetoric (55)
•Observation (45)

[Appearance]
Standing at the average for a female Jamoura, seven foot, Dersha weighs a little over four-hundred-and-fifty-pounds. Her shoulder width is three and a half foot. Grey hair covers Dersha's body, except for a light brown patch on the top of her head. She has the ability to easily change her fur to camouflage. Surprisingly, Dersha's eyes are a shade of green akin to the leaves in early spring. Dersha's front torso is bare and normally shows signs of a young child suckling.

[Personality]
Dersha is a very approachable Jamoura. She is warm, friendly and truthful. A true leader. However, she fears other cities not understanding the Jamoura race. Morals play a large part in Dersh's real life, but not her professional one. The lives of others come first, no matter what. When it comes to negotiating, she will do what is best for the people, no matter what. She has been known to be outrageous in demands. There is always a plan with solid reasoning behind any proposal. Others view her as fair and trustworthy. Those who meet Dersha believe they can speak with her freely, that she will understand, and that she will not judge them.

[History]
Dersha is Marn's daughter. At a tender age, she developed a passion for politics. All of the Memory meetings would be sat in on and she often found herself speaking out on issues others had casually mentioned. Upon reaching maturity, Dersha was married. Five children, as of 512 AV, came from the marriage. At only two-hundred-and-five years of age, Dersha took action. After gaining permission, she began to travel to close cities to the Spires. This was because she sought to better the life of everyone, nature and people alike. Negotiating better terms of life, of how to deal with crisis's, and educating others about the Jamoura race. She had helped the Spires form alliances with numerous cities.

ImageName: Ssayashayani
Race: Dhani; Diamond Python
DoB: Summer 78th, 362 AV (150 years)
PoB: Falyandar
Title:
Skills:
•Wrestling (66)
•Unarmed Combat (57)
•Intimidation (51)
•Hunting (44)
•Wilderness Survival (30)

[Appearance]
Ssayashayani is a constrictor Dhani. Her snake form is that of a Diamond Python. Yellow with almost a green shade, forms several patterns down her brown sides. (See picture) Thirty-three feet in length, Ssayashayani is long enough to wrap around an average human ten times. In her Dhani form, she is twenty feet long. Her arms are very muscular and she is four times stronger than a human. The human form is six foot one and stocky. Black hair seems to carry over the coloring of her scales. Black and green hair is rolled to create round pieces that fall to shoulder length. Occasionally, to make herself prettier, she puts red into her dreadlocks. Slitted green eyes are observant and constantly watching. Speech is slow and S's replace the letters of F and T. In her snake and Dhani form, she has night vision and heightened senses.

[Personality]
Ssayashayani is known for her temper that explodes unexpectedly. There has been no pattern to the outbursts. Loud and snappy, she tends to come off as intimidating. Her stomach is bottomless and she has been known to be easily bribed by food. Being tricked is one of the things Ssayashayani hates most. Children are nothing more than a measly snack, though she tries to restrain herself. Other races are inferior but useful. When a promise is made, a promise is kept. Losing is not enjoyable aspect and she will do everything besides cheat to win. Ssayashayani dislikes authority and will try to find a way around their rules, but she will not outright break a law at the risk of her own life.

[History]
Born to Zinrah, Ssayashayani was not well liked by anyone of the constrictor family, nor the other sub-races. Her attitude toward others, and partly the temper, created many enemies. One, a constrictor called Ninvisor, claimed he would be the death of her. Literally. This was because he found out she did not worship the god Siku, but instead Caiyha. To save her own life, she fled from Zinrah in search of safety. Along the way, she began to learn how to defend herself… In case he ever caught up. Somewhere, her wish to flee changed to finding herself a worthy wrestling partner. The search sent her to the Spires and the Jamoura. As long as Ssayashayani did not eat anyone, she could stay. Ssayashayani is part of the Hahk'Shatara and teaches them wrestling skills.

The Sweetest Stings
Image

Located on the outskirts of the Outer Petals, nestled in a flowered, fertile dip in the Petal, a large, twisted stump marks the thriving hive of dire bees. These bees are between three to five inches long, and have been living in the stump, expanding their impressive honeycombed home for a few hundred years. The flowers and lush growth that fill the area are no doubt thanks to their industrious, uninterrupted labors. The stump has been somewhat modified over the years to allow the beekeepers who tend to the hive to access the honey and honeycomb as safely as possible, so there are several built-in shelves and a few drawer-like structures that aren't necessarily visible to the untrained eye.

While the stump and it's large buzzing inhabitants are somewhat central to the Sweetest Stings, higher up in a few of the thicker branches, still part of the same Petal, spans the living quarters and the storefront and storage for the sweet harvested goods and the keepers themselves. A single staircase leads up to the storefront, which is connected to the storage room filled with necessary equipment and vats of honey in various forms of processing—though some of that is also done on the ground in a well-hidden dugout underneath some roots of another tree. The living quarters are separate and accessed by a ladder by the two keepers and any visitors they wish to entertain.

Because the bees are dire and only are soothed by their keepers, both of whom bear marks from Caiyha herself, they are dangerous and it is ill-advised for visitors to wander the lushly flowered gardens or to approach the huge, impressive stump that is their hive. Wandering too close could be injurious or even fatal to unwary visitors, though a single dire bee is less interested in a stranger if they're flitting about the rest of the Spires. The access to the storefront is furthest from their hive, and is thus a bit more safe than the rest of the grove.

Honey can be sampled at any time, and is available for sale in various forms throughout the year, though it is best in the Spring and comes from storage in the Winter. In small quantities, bee venom is also available for medicinal purposes as an anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant. Beeswax is also available in various forms—candles, sheets, and melted cubes of different weights.

NPCs

Name: Maarla
Race: Jamoura
DoB: 91st Day of Spring, 232 AV
PoB: The Spires
Title: Apiarist of The Sweetest Stings
Skills: Animal Husbandry: Bees 61, Philtering 52, Agriculture: Bees 43, Herbalism 37, Medicine 30
Gnosis Favored by Caiyha (2 Gnosis Marks)

Maarla's father was the original apiarist at the Sweetist Stings, having begun to nurture and care for the small colony of dire bees he found inhabiting the impressive stump centuries before Maarla was even born. Her father and mother tended the bees, both also Favored by Caiyha. Her mother loved flowers and planted many pleasing to the bees and medicinal for health when found in honey around the clearing they created to help give the bees ample room to find pollen and build their hive. Over the centuries, the couple also made modifications to the tree one season at a time to allow them the clever access Maarla now has to the honey and the comb.

The djed storm claimed them both.

Maarla was not prepared to tend the apiary alone, but has found solace in the flowers of her mother and the beloved dire bees of her father. She tends to them like her children, and deeply appreciates their rhythms and cycles. She sings to them when she thinks no one is looking, and the bees can be soothed by her voice alone, thanks to Caiyha's mark, when she goes to collect from them.

Still young by Jamoura standards, Maarla hopes to find a mate who loves her bees and their honey to tend gardens with her, for now content with the friendship of Hultz, the badger kelvic who had been rescued by her mother after stumbling into just how dangerous dire bees could be while rooting out a snack one day three years ago.

Image
Name: Hultz
Race: Kelvic Badger
DoB: 3rd of Fall, 508 AV (4 years old; appears in his 30s-40s in human form)
PoB: The Spires
Title: Apiarist of The Sweetest Stings
Skills: Candlemaking: 55 Beekeeping 47, Herbalism 25, Medicine 10
Gnosis Favored by Caiyha (1 Gnosis Mark)

After being rescued from near-death after an attack from the dire bees while trying to help himself to the delicious honey in the hive, Hultz became fascinated by them and their process. He couldn't pass up hanging around for some free honey, either, especially when there was less risk of getting stung when among friends. He also displayed an affinity for candlemaking and quickly excelled at making beautiful things out of wax for his gracious Jamoura friends.

He's quiet and gruff, but with a hidden sweet side that's less obvious than his sweet tooth. He usually runs the counter or is making candles. In human form, Hultz appears to be a middle-aged man with black hair and salt-n-pepper sides. Amber eyes match the honey that was his downfall to begin with. He's broad-shouldered and short, and prefers to wear just pants if he can get away with it, considering his dark body hair as justifiable adornment as the Jamoura he shares a home with.
