Nestled within the Castle Commons is a small, run-down little shop simply titled Baker’s Butcher and Bakeshop, with the word Bake scratched off although legible if you catch it in a good light. Inside there is a bit of standing room before you get to the large counter that divides the shop in half, and on most days there is a middle aged man behind the counter with salt pepper hair parted neatly to one side.
People who have been here before will notice that the new face, a man who looks nothing like Kane Baker but is certainly dressed the part with a thick white apron that is often splattered with blood if you catch him in the early morning hours when he is just opening up.
The products are labeled simply and therefore are easy to understand. There is fish, and there is the decidedly more ambiguous red meat all of which seems to have been haphazardly cut into portions that are far from uniform. However, most patrons of the establishment don’t complain about the product, or the lack of bread for sale because the red meat is cheaper than they can get anywhere else, and the lack of winter has made these last few years exceptionally lean.
The back of the establishment behind the counter is obscured by a dividing wall, and a door that is kept locked when not in use. No one is allowed into the back, but the rumor is that among other things, there is a private entrance into the tunnels because no one has ever seen the proprietor coming or going from the shop yet he never runs out of fresh meat.
Of course no one really talks about this, at least not where the proprietor can hear them, but all the same after dark, most take care avoid the area as best they can.

After opening up the shop one morning during the Spring of 522 A.V., no one has seen a trace of the old owners and when asked Garik simply responds with some variation of them having found an opportunity to good to pass up before selling the shop to him. Regardless, no one questions that he is the owner of the establishment now, and because of his low prices for red meat, no one really wants to.
Garik is a middle aged man standing at around 5’10 and weighing about 130 lbs. He almost always carries a cleaver in his right hand or looped through his belt and greets most visitors with a friendly smile.
He can actually be quite charming for those that really get to know him, but most don’t stay any longer than they need to in the shop.
Goods and Services
Garik offers a limited supply of fish early in the morning that tends to run out quickly within the first bell or so.
His main product is what he calls red meat, which can be bought smoked for 3 gm/lb, or made into a sausage for 1 gm/lb.
