RHY Name: Rhy Gender: Female Age: 1 year Born: Summer 33, 511 AV Race: Kelvic Height: 5'6 Physical Appearance From afar Rhy could be a Chaktawe. As with the desert people her hair is thick, wild and dark, usually hanging loose down her back, and her skin is a beautiful russet colour. But upon closer inspection she appears to be human, as her limbs are long with the hard sinewy muscles you would find on a dancer or an acrobat. And she sports wide brown eyes flecked with gold. But if anybody went so far as to inspect her mouth she would be immediately identifiable as a Kelvic. Or a freak. Depends how jumpy you are. Two unique characteristics that bleed through from her alternative form are sharp, elongated canine teeth, and a disturbingly long spaded tongue that can hang nearly 2cm past her chin. Another quality both her appearances share is a hatred for clothes of all kinds, so she is usually naked if she can get away with it. Not that she cuts a very sensuous figure, as her chest is nearly flat and her hips only curve enough to show she’s female. Despite her lack of curves, Rhy holds the inherent Kelvic grace and is one of those few people that knows exactly how their body moves and what it can do. That confidence is easily displayed with the fluidity of her movements and the way she holds herself. Her other form is much more impressive. Rhy also has the form of a huge black and gold brindled dog. Her breed is Luvanor Grassland Hunter, a breed obviously bred hunting large prey and running long distances. Smooth and thick fur of a sandy gold covers her from tail to toe with dusted black markings, and winter has her sprouting a thick, downy undercoat. A long muzzle, clipped ears and furled tail keep up an outward perception of a hard-bitten sort of creature. And while she can’t speak in this form, except with other dogs, she is very talented with getting her point across with a combination of both an expressive face and very pointed gestures. Character Concept Rhy is not a dreamer. She is very rooted in the present, rarely looking back and never planning ahead. She takes total confidence in her body and what is physical, trusting to her senses and what she can feel. And the unfettered view allows her to live in the moment and read situations very clearly. This self insurance in her body covers up what she sees is a very weak mind. She has no armour or barrier between herself and the world, as other people seem to have, and feels things very deeply. She's susceptible to sensory overload and can be extremely impulsive and unpredictable. And she loves the wild and the outdoors, slipping easily between domestication and her feral nature. Rhy relates well to children and loves people, taking opportunities to revel in companionship and simple pleasures. She's very honest, blunt, and can conveniently forget the social graces. Her one embarrassment is her inability to articulate complex thoughts and emotions. Not for lack of vocabulary, or a witless mind, but because she has a difficult time working within the confines of language. She will often try to express herself in body language or stay silent when this happens, as she feels this skill makes her that much less human. History Early life for Rhy was spent clinging to the skirts of her mother, a Kelvic falcon named Kalamal. Kalamal’s bonded partner was an exiled Dyrlas, a man with good intentions and a fierce temper. His exile brought on by injuring the Strider of a rival while in a rage. They never had a set home but were always on foot and moving away from Endrycas and towards the next town: Riverfall. Starvation is Rhy’s clearest memory of the trek. It was not uncommon to go weeks without substantial food. Kalamal was aging and can only carry small prey in her talons, if she found any at all, and Rhy was still young and not learned in hunting. Kalamal began sustaining her bonded and her daughter by pounding down the softest grasses, removing the fibers, and feeding Rhy and the Dyrlas the pulpy mush left at the bottom of the bowl. The harsh land is what killed the Dyrlas, and Kalamal only stopped long enough to bury and mark his grave before they moved on. And starvation is what eventually killed Kalamal only days from Riverfall. But she died knowing she had taught her daughter everything she could to help her survive: how to hunt, how to survive the wilds and how to survive the city. So a when Rhy left she veered towards a westerly direction, which she knew to be the closest town, and stumbled into Riverfall. And of course, being in an alien culture in a totally different environment, she adapted to the only profession from which she could survive: thieving and begging. She has lived in Riverfall for the better part of her life and probably knows her way around better then the Akalak. Scrambling on rooftops and alleyways as a human and scrounging the port as a dog has given her a different inside look of the city. Rhy wishes to leave the city and explore the world but does not have the means, and her Kelvic nature makes it nearly impossible to go for long periods without some sort of authority or companionship. Therefore she stays; and besides, life here is good. Name: Gianne Basette Age: 19 Occupation: Riding Instructor at the Sanctuary Relationship: Bondmate On the 12th of Fall 512, Rhy forged a Kelvic bond with Gianne after she had been marked by Caiyah. She is a kind and gentle woman with a stubborn, fiery side and a face that can be read like a book. Having an inherent love for the wild and anything out of doors, she shuns girly things in favour of tough leathers and a day of hard work. Their relationship is close and affectionate and Rhy has grown to love and trust her completely. Assuming a protective and devoted role over the woman that she has never shown for anyone else.
