Sea Watchers (-Open-)

Ishara and her sighthound stretch their legs just beyond Riverfall's Gates

The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

Once up in the saddle, Ishara no longer felt so small. The white horse beneath her shifted, and she adjusted her weight, feeling her back rest against Serriff's chest. She gathered the reins, and tightened her legs briefly to urge the horse forward. He took the cue beautifully, and Ishara sucked in a deep breath as he practically drifted through the snow as though it were no more than a light fog.

The familiar shifting of equine limbs beneath her carried her back to the wind-swept dunes of her past, and she felt her mouth tighten in a smile. Raj darted ahead, and for the span of several heartbeats Ishara let her own cares slip away with him. This day had been...unexpected, to say the least. However, she seemed to have made a new friend, some one who may slowly improve her skills at defending herself...If I can manage not to accidentally kill him in the process, she thought wryly to herself, giving her head a soft shake.

Ishara tossed a glance over her shoulder, catching Serriff's eye. Her cheeks were flushed from the cold, but her radiant expression denied that she felt it at all. "Your horse moves well, Serriff. My brother Yav would have fallen in love with an animal such as this...though something tells me he is not for the sands of Eyktol."

And with that, she urged the horse into an easy lope, smiling widely as the frostmarch carried them back through the city gates, Raj bounding joyously alongside them.

OOC: Shall we end this here?
"What creature is this which dances beneath my eye?
A desert-bred mortal who's beastial sinew and heart
Lay forged in the firey breath of Yahal's sigh!
Watch, as the soul surfs upon the wind and slowly breaks apart..."

Character: Ishara Dossari
Skills: +2 Observation, +1 Riding, +1 Unarmed Combat, +1 Animal Handling, +1 Manners,
Lore: A touch of nostalgia, From names to combat in a blink, All she could think of was Abyar,

Character: Serrif Von Chatlyn
Skills: +1 Leadership, +2 Teaching, +1 Unarmed Combat, +2 Rhetoric,
Lore: Arrow at the ready, From names to combat in a blink, Would you like to hear my story?,

Notes: Ishara your excellent observations and portrayal of emotions were wonderful to read! You're a good writer, so don't be afraid to make those posts a bit longer! Nice combination of nostalgic thoughts and current actions.
Serrif, excellent and thorough job of teaching, training and explaining with great detail. However, you missed a blatant observational moment with Ishara-she pulled back and had a strongly illustrated memory, but you only wanted to tell her your story. Please try to work on responding more to what your thread partner has written if you want observation xp.
If you have any questions or comments about your grade, please PM me.
